This new video goes over how to use the 100 Air Mile Radius Exception. This exception uses the 12 hour work day rule. However at this time the unit is putting the driver into driving mode. My company is in the process of finding out why the ELD is putting the driver into this status. Also we are trying to verify that if you "drive" outside the 100 air mile radius if the unit will automatically put you into standard logging using the 14 hr rule. The reason the ELD puts the driver into Driving even on 100 air mile radius exception is due to the law stating that a driver cannot drive more then 11 hrs. This is the MAX time on either 14 hr rule or 12 hr rule.
