      @@jarnett9137 Yes once you come on duty you have to take a 30 minute break within 8 hrs. You can only drive four 11 hrs in a day. And you can only be on duty for 14 hrs. When either the 11 or 14 is reached you need to take 10 hrs off. Hope that helps, good luck

    I would like to clarify on the "On Driver" and "On Not Driver" statues you have... BOTH of these status are On duty time.. NOT DRIVE TIME. I have tested this on my own unit thats exactly like yours and these 2 duties are purely used mainly for Team drivers.. however because of the way they built it... everyone on People Net will have these statuses even if your only Soloing. As team drivers.. when the truck starts moving as a team driver... only the driver in the "On Driver" will be moved to the drive line..... in order to change drivers when you rotate.. the driver going off duty can go to "on Not Driver" as well.. and the driver coming on.. needs to flip to "On Driver" before he moves the truck so the system will move him to the drive line instead of the last driver

      @@MyLord100571 i get what you're saying..but no..it would not be legal to use PC to go farther...meaning towards your destination. In the DOTs eyes, you should have planned better. Now you can use PC to find a safe haven, such as you're out of time at a receiver/shipper and are forced to leave. Now if you're in traffic lets say, and you would have made your stop in time but got delayed because of an accident or something, you're better off running that little bit over to the very next safe haven in violation and just annotate it in the remarks. Why is it so much more goddamn complicated to use the peoplenet now? Suddenly there's a bunch of additional screens and bouncing back and forth to screw with. Why "On Not Driver" instead of "on duty not driving". It makes me think I'm on duty, but I'm not the driver of the truck.
    Why "Driver Resources"? What was wrong with the hot keys? Seems to me they went in there and jacked everything around for no other reason than for the shits & giggles of it all. It's stupid.
    And why the hell can't I put fuel stops in the computer anymore? They completely shit the bed on this deal. It's a nightmare now.

    • @sevokevo
      @sevokevo 5 років тому

      The "On Driver" and "On Not Driver" is still just On duty time.. NOT DRIVE TIME.. the purpose for these 2 on Duty statues is just for team drivers.. you will have to flip between these 2 statuses when you are team driving so that the proper driver will go to the drive line when he starts moving... until you have a team driver... just don't worry about which On Duty status you are on as long as you are On duty when it comes to pre trip, post trip, loading, unloading, fueling, etc

    • @sevokevo
      @sevokevo 5 років тому

      Other than that.... it all depends on your carriers configuration if you have to do fuel stuff.

    To answer your question your company is going to have your truck and vin numbers already in the eld. You can do a pre and post trip without putting a trailer number in.

    What a screwed up system this has become. There are several oddities I need addressed. Firstly is the rapid change from on-duty to driving once the vehicle is moving. Unlike the old system where the vehicle travelled a couple of hundred yards before the change, now it is almost instantaneous. As soon as I enter the yard at the end of the day to fuel up, I put myself on duty to preserve my driving time while I await for the vehicle ahead to fuel. Once he's left, I will pull up to the pumps only fifty feet away and the system puts me into driving. Immediately I must put myself back into on-duty lest I run out of critical driving minutes if I'm close to running out. What to do to avoid the sudden change? Simply put myself onto on-duty yard movement? Why, yes, but it then requires an annotation as to why I'm switching to yard movement. Really? I have to take the time to explain that I'm gonna fuel and park? Of all the stupid things. And unlike the old system where I hit the 'remarks' button to make whatever notes are needed, I must now find an event to add an annotation. And when doing so I'm restricted as to how much I can enter because it is limited to only two lines or a set number of characters. How can adequately explain for the DOT audit why I ran out of hours, for example, or any other event that needs noting? Under the old 'remarks' method, I could write a letter if needed. Then comes the search for vehicle inspection which they have moved to 'driver' from logs. It does not even afford me to post a post inspection as hitting the off-duty log off button takes me to the log in screen, bypassing the 'driver' button (which your video shows) altogether. I mean, what was wrong with the old system that they changed to this convoluted, screwed-up system that does not follow in logical order? Did the DOT require this change? What an exercise in frustration!

    • @MyLord100571
      @MyLord100571  5 років тому

      I fully understand your frustration, and am right there with you. I agree with you that the Feds have taken this ELD mandate entirely to far. The only few bits of advice I can offer to you is this. When you say you are at the end of day waiting to fuel, and you only have to travel 50 ft. to get to the pump, do so at less then 5 mph. This should keep your eld from putting you into driving. Yes, you could put yourself into YM as soon as you arrived, and yes you have to do a burdensome annotation on a log that you have to find. I drive to the fuel pump and go on duty fueling even if only one truck in front of me. Yes I have to annotate that Im fueling. My question is, if its the end of day why worry about driving time? Im also sure that companies have their ELD's set up differently.
      Finally, You do or should have an option of hitting the home button, then find the driver tab then the inspection tab to do a post trip inspection. If you actually do a walk around at that time and want to stay on duty. I do my post trip while I am fueling to kill two birds with one stone. I know that the mandate is a big change from what we are all accustomed to doing, but we did choose this career and these are the conditions we have to abide by.
