- Today I’m sharing a Spring home tour! I want to highlight the functional things we’ve added to keep things organized and aesthetic “like a magazine!” Most of the decor and furniture is thrifted so I hope I can give some budget friendly ideas for making a home! I’ll also share some very satisfying before and afters of our 1970s Spanish/ Mediterranean fixer upper! We’ve had lots of thrifted room makeovers, let me know which room has been your favorite to watch come together.

Been with you from the very BEGINNING … what amazing work you have done . Loved seeing the family home you have and are creating.. thanks for taking all of us along. A favorite is seeing the pieces we left integrated into your vision. The 125 year old + dining set getting used by a young family. It was in my grandparents’ home and I sat around that in late 40s and 50’s and the buffet in use in the dining room. That buffet had a candy jar on it with ribbon candy during the same time. Creating new memories. Have loved the beginning of your life in the home we loved for 38 years.

Such a beautiful home. I particularly love your laundry room. I don’t have one! I gotta say, that bathroom is cute. The matching sink and tub….I think it’s fun. Y’all have done such a great job.
A laundry room is such a treat!! This is the first house I’ve had one in 💗
You have created a warm and welcoming home. My personal favorite thing is the tile backsplash in your bathroom. Please be patient with the process. We have been in our old farmhouse for 10 years now. We are doing all the work ourselves, and are in no hurry to finish. And let's be honest...a house is never really finished, is it?

2nd bathroom reminds me of my grandmother, but at least she had tile and a shower, which I don't think she ever used. Quite the change in your house from the day I was there for the estate sale. Beautiful 😊

I spy "Theology of Home" on your coffee table. I love those books, too. Your home is just beautiful, Emily! I love all the neutrals but pops of jewel tones and all the texture. Isn't Marketplace the best?! Also, can so relate to desks always being a mess. Mine is presently covered in laundry lol.

This was great what an awesome job you all did Emily👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I love the embroidered Virgin Mary and all the small gallery walls throughout, small crucifix above the boys beds / and the yard it’s just all so lovely. Do you have a video on your drop clothe curtains? I have made them but want to send a video to my daughter who is in another state and needs curtains.

The outside of our house looks like your entryway wall. I am so excited to see what you choose. Every paint color I pick out looks horrible except white which my husband says absolutely not.

Love love the tile flooring in the living room and dining room. As for the rock entry wall... I think having a nice lamp on that gorgeous table would give it a nice glow . The brass lamps in the master along with the extended curtain rod are really nice. Sheers in a bedroom lend such a softness. I have them with bamboo inset roman shades in all my bedrooms. I also have two botanical prints like your grandmothers , ,that have been on my wall since the 80's. I have never ever tired of them. They look classic and timeless to me. Mine are matted in navy blue with simple antique gold frames. You have really done a great job in all the spaces.

First..i pray you have a safe and healthy delivery & that you and baby boy will do well and be home quickly.🙏 That cradle is just precious, and the art piece above if is beautiful. Love the coffee table & credenza.. I just love old wooden pieces! The floors are so pretty! I love all the bathroom tiles, so pretty! My son and his family live in Florida just outside of Tampa. Before he got married he live in Orlando, i stayed with him for 11mths. I always said lizards there were like ants are in NC and Tennessee😄(originally from NC, live in Tennessee) They're literally everywhere!🦎 The outside space is really nice! I think if you do something to lighten up the rock wall it would really brighten up the space.. lime wash or whatever people do on the red brick or dark rock fireplaces to lighten them.🤷♀️ Love all you guys did to the kitchen! Obsessed with the rocker in the nursery, its gorgeous! The bathroom is definitely bright! You'll get to it and make it beautiful in time! You have A beautiful home! I enjoyed the tour, thanks for inviting us in and sharing your home with us!😊

Your home is beautiful! You were asking about ideas for the rock wall in your entryway. Maybe vacuum it and wash it really good and do a lime wash treatment on it. Lightning it up would really open up that beautiful entry!❤

Great redo! Love the tile on the floors and the star light fixture. Makes me think that the rock wall in the front hall would look cool with a large* scale piece of hand painted art or an antique/ vintage rug or tapestry hung over the table

I loved the home tour. Your home is lovely. Best wishes for a safe delivery,for you and baby. Since it’s actually your parent’s house, do you have the same design aesthetic as your parents? When you move out, you will have to start the design process all over again.
Talk about passive aggressive. It doesn’t matter whether they are renting, or own it, or staying long term or short term. They are making it a beautiful place that they will enjoy in this phase of their lives. So what if they move in the future and start over.

It’s always been my favorite home design style so I hope when we buy our own home we can get one similar, but maybe we will fall in love with something different and that will be fun to try something new ☺️
I like the rock wall. Don't German schmeer it; I always think those look tacky, plus once you do something to stone or brick, you can never undo it. If you want the entryway to look as light as possible, then keep the door white, instead of doing the wood look. Charming home!

Amazed to hear the "wood" floors were glued on linoleum! Yikes, when was that a thing? The Spanish tiles look great. Assume your parents approved as they will surely be floors that last everyone's lifetime! All that hideous carpet removal must have made your heart sing! Not a fan of wall to wall myself.
The one suggestion I would make is to look for larger artwork or at least larger frames. Small isolated pictures look lost. Group together what you have to make larger vignettes. I've thrifted all my life and one thing you can certainly get great deals on are artwork. Even if they are just posters or reproductions.
I bet the kids love the flowery, happy looking wallpaper. Maybe for now you can put some glue on tiles where the paper has been peeling? I wonder if there is a rubbery edge you can glue on the edge of the tile step for now to make it safer. Hoe you and your new baby are doing well.
Oh that carpet was so good to get out! 🙌🏻 and you are so right about the larger art. I have a hard time finding it! But just thrifted a large mirror for the entryway that I’ll share next week 😍

The entryway brick wall is hideous it ruins your beautiful home. The german smear would definitely improve it or just cover it smooth somehow

I love the bathroom, especially the wallpaper. But, I would definitely change it as that step before the tub is very dangerous. If you can afford it I would remove that asap. Then put your new tub and shower in or just a shower. You will make it cute to go with the rest of your decor. Take the light out as that is annoying and it doesn't function properly.
