Bf 109 K-4 vs P-51 Mustang on Combat Box - IL2: Great Battles 4k

Back out again in the mighty K4!! FTC_DavviZ, FTC_King_Bob, and myself go on a flight flying for team Blue on Combat Box multi-player server. Ended up flighting nothing but Mustangs. We were able to get six of them but lost DavviZ to a lucky snap shot.

That was fun...nice work. I am addicted to the BF109 & 30 mm. Saw a documentary about the German's 30 mm (incredibly devastating weapon).
I am envious of you guys with the VR & being able to look around while flying as I gotta pause to look around or use the map until the enemy is in my forward view but it's all still fun as hell.

I actually use TrackIR. It is very helpful to be able to look around with just a few degrees of head movement.

That was some good fun. The K4 is just such a monster. It is quite satisfying to blast a 51 with the 30mm.
Just some of my thoughts- I think when we do the double bounce attack, I like to stay fast as the #2 so I can pull away from the guy and anyone in the area. Also it seems to me that normally the guy is only looking forward at the #1 man and you can just zoom up to him and blast him, the longer you take to shoot, the more chance he has to check his 6. I think it also keeps you closer to your wingman because I think Davvis was still full power and he was like 5km ahead of you. In the last attack, I was to your right dragging a guy and you were low e, shouldn't you tell me to turn left? Wouldn't that allow you to cut the guy's circle and catching him faster? I think if you tell me to turn right, it opens up the distance or am I wrong?

When you were dragging him, I was afraid if you came to hard to the left, I would have to great of an angle to get a shot off. If I missed my shot, then I would have to reverse and bleed a lot of energy. Also with me being in front like that he easily could have switched to me and closed the distance before you could have come around and get a shot off. Id much rather him shoot you than me 🤣

How can you possibly catch the mustang with the 109? The Mustang is significantly faster. I don't get this game.

K4s are just as fast if not faster than the Mustang on the deck. Not sure if the P-51s had 150 octane or not.

@@satchel3307 Absolutely not! they are slower in every regard, climb slower, manuever worse, and the 30mm cannon doesn't do any damage when it hits and has useless ballistics making deflection shots practically impossible.
You're just an excellent pilot. I'm an average pilot - trust me, I know that the K4 is worse than any allied plane by far.
