Hi Tihetris Westhersby, The outdoor scenes scare me. I was a Guiding Light fan from 1976 until the end. Towards the end, to save money they were shooting mostly outside. Free lighting, but must be hard on the sound people. Anytime I see an outdoor scene I wonder if GH is loosing sponsors, and they're cutting corners this way. I hope we don't loose one of the last ABC soap operas. I miss all of the old soaps. Most of the day on network TV is the news, with a couple shows in between. We don't need to loose one of the last soap operas. They don't even have Saturday morning cartoons anymore. It's all news or educational stuff on the weekends. Boring. And the dozens of others that are gone now. Do you remember how popular Ryan's Hope was? Gone. All of them gone. The 3pm time slot soaps were the most popular because junior high, and senior high schools got out in time to watch those soaps. GH is the last 3pm soap left, and they moved it to 2pm so the kids aren't watching it. There's no after school national television broadcasts that kids can watch anymore either. No after school specials. Just nonstop news on repeat. It's like the big 3 ABC, CBS, & NBC have given up. They never used to have infomercials on national channels, but now they do. Things are changing and not for the better. They forget not everyone can afford cable TV. Lot's of us have antenna TV. Except that young man at work, he watches UA-cam on TV instead of his phone, doesn't have an antenna, can't watch TV. Young people are different now. And I'm worried soap operas will be gone before I am. I don't want to out live soap operas. One constant since my earliest memories, afternoon soaps. Y&R is the #1 with ratings that would've been considered a joke 30 years ago. I think the Bell soaps on CBS will be the last to go, but I would also guess that GH will outlast Days, which could be the next to go. Hopefully, that's many years away. Plus, the way that they bring things back now... There's always that sliver of a hope that soaps make a comeback!
