Definitely do one on the bobcats u should also do a hunt giveaway to go bobcat hunting with you to
Pick meeeee
Great job on the fans. Might want to give this a try. It's more tedious but u come out with a slick clean mount. Just like you did I take it down to the two sets of feathers. Then I go one more and separate the fan feathers from that front row feathers. Now you have two sets of feathers. Take one set (fan) and separate the left side from the right side by slicing down through the middle two feathers. Now take each side and keep them in their respective piles. Take and slice between each quill to separate all the feathers into individual feathers. Take each feather and with a paper towel grab the fat and goop at the bottom and squeezing tightly and pull. This will leave the end clean as a whistle (like you've seen for a quill pen) Do this for all the feathers in each of the four piles. Then lay your fan feathers out in the correct position on cardboard as you did and hot glue the quills at the base. I put blue painters tape across the fan to hold it in place while hot glueing. Then do the same for the front feathers. Put the 2 together and voila. Takes me about 1 1/2 hrs start to finish. No waiting days to dry. I've probably done in excess of 250 this way.
Love your channel
This was really cool to see, Mike. Thanks for walking us thru it. I have never heard of there being turkeys up here and definitely don't know of anyone who has gone turkey hunting, let alone preserving they fans. It's really interesting though -I enjoyed this video very much. I'd also love to see the bobcat video. Thanks again, Mike. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Heather🇨🇦
Do the bobcats
I'm really enjoying the variety of your channel, great job!
I’ve been waiting to see this for awhile! I’ve been curious because I’m planning on taking my first turkey this year! I’ll be looking forward to the bob cat video too
I do mine with alum 40% & 60% sea salt. Let it sit for about 5 days. Alum does tanning on the meat. I use the same formula for hides. For the the pudding you can use bondo.
Definitely looking forward to the bobcat tutorial. Good stuff!
Try your wire wheel n your bench grinder and a pair of side cutters. It's much faster. Then sprinkle borox and shake it off. Lay your fan out, mix a golf ball size ball of bondo. Press your feather quills into the bondo. Realign feathers. Wait a half hour and it's ready for your plaque. Takes abut an hour or so. No need to wait for it to dry out. Give it a try. I've been doing taxidermy for 23 years works great.
Keep em coming Mr. Mullet Man Sir !
Very informative video. Do some more like that please Sir !!
I wanna see more man!! Awesome job teaching! Keep up the good work and great content!!
Ive always done it the same way you do except I use Bondo, the auto body filler, it works the best out of the different things I've used.
For sure wanna see more vids like this! Let's see how you do them bobcats
Love your videos it’s really cool because the way you film your hunts

Yeah definitely would like to see more preservation techniques. Also would love to see you preserve a bobcat.
Definitely would love to see more of this stuff
L use alum which is aluminum sulfate a make a 50/50 solution and let soak over night. It pickles it then dry in borax and pin in position.and dry. epoxy, I use the same solution on my capes for mounting for 2 days then add half cup tide for a day to help stretch the hide where you need to when sewing.

I live in Texas to
I flesh it out, but not as far as you do with the wire brush and just use regular old salt to dry it out. Works for me.

I know this probably sounds very stupid, but I had no idea you could preserve a turkey fan or a beard. Either way, that’s really cool.

Dear Mulletman, have you considered selling any of your Turkey Fans? I'm a 65 year young woman that at lives in Florida. I watch your video's and just loved the fans you made. I have a perfect spot for one. Of course I have no way of making one but I would LOVE one. They are beautiful!!! God bless you and your very talented wife. Oh, I loved the Africa Series ... Africa is on my bucket list.
Thank you.
I like the HeartHatter back there on ur desk😂 why doesn’t he wear it they are nice ass hats, was thinking bout getting myself one

Thats a great way to preserve the fans but we have always used salt . here in flordia we get some big turkeys...
These videos are cool.
Yes definitely! More how to videos! I love them all.
And SET your clock on the stove!! I’m going to post every time till ya set it 🙁
Ok, I will bite. Your comment about the clock had me looking thru the video again to find this clock that isn't set, haha. Where is it?
Ahhhh! I think I found it - the round, grey one in his garage? I was only looking in the office. That is going to totally drive me nuts now, haha!
The clock on the stove
Heather D. Stove. It’s hard to see in this video. Look at other kitchen videos.
Show us how you do your bobcats
Yeee Mullet Man 😎💪💪🤙🙏i never hunted before
NOW TO GO GET A TURKEY
Do a review of your new truck!
Yaaaas let’s see those bobcats
Do you do local hunts for people and if so how do you go about setting one up
I have my first fan still hanging on the wall after 20+ years the tips of the feathers have begun to fray. Can this be fixed or should I have coated them with something in the past to prevent It? I thought maybe hairspray or clear spray paint may have prevented this. Any suggestions to fix or to prevent on a future mount? Thanks
Be really nice to see the Jake fan when it's complete.
Eat good!! Have you ever made a coyote jacket?
One day I wish I can go fishing with you
Wassup 🙌
Do it!
How to tan hide's
When you preserve a cat, would you do a yote the same or similar?
Any one else subscribed for the fact that his name is mullet man
Big fan
Ha ha ha hahaha ...... Why????????????
Do some bobcats
I wonder if you boiled some water and stuck the end with all the fat meat on it into the boiling water for a few minutes if it would make it come off really easy. Just a thought I had when watching you trying to get that stuff off.
Use salt it'll dry quicker you can use the cardboard to keep it flat you don't have to use a wire brush or anything once it dries it's done
Don’t ever dry before pinning your feathers. Always pin feathers and then run salt and borax. Turkey fan will want to close together. What type of silicon did you use?
Top 3
I used silicone, you think that’s okay? You mentioned that on the video. Thanks
Euro mounts on ur predators and deer u harvest. 👍🏽
yassir !!! show more !!! use sum squirrel tails and tie sum jigs !!! great video , really enjoy all yur vids !!! EAT GOOD !!!
Lol when I was younger I just made a paste with borax and stuck it all over the bottom of the fan and left it on it and like ten years later it’s still good but I know that’s not the proper way lol but js
Do you think you could use flour instead of borax?
I use to have a mullet
how can I get a turkey tail u sale them or???
Could you use salt instead of borax I feel like it would dry out faster
mullet man? did you mean Mountain man . even a taxidermist. i think we all want to see the bobcat tanning
lets see dem bobcats
Where in Texas do you live in?
What do you do for a living? Are you full time UA-cam?
JUST PUT ME IN LINE LOL
Why take the small feathers off ? Borax does job no trimming! No wire brush lol
Yes. Bobcats. Yes.
Hey man do something with a beaver. Catch clean cook lol. Consider yourself double dog dared..
If you take all the front feathers off it kinda is pointless doing the fan, those feathers are what makes it pretty, You can take them off and do the rest of the fan then I glue the front feathers back on
