Anonyes Shadow She wasnt I knew he would steal too he was shaky he was closing his eyes little too I would have chose steal and if he is trustable i would choose split
I always find it amusing when someone defends their actions by saying they knew what the other was going to do. Even if that's true, they're still showing their nasty side by making sure they both get nothing. The moment anyone chooses to steal, they're saying to the other person "I'm going to make sure you get nothing". You might as well choose the split ball, as you'll come out of it looking like the better person, regardless of what happens......and maybe guilt will get the better of the other person and someday, somehow you'll get something from them.
I think justice is more important to survive than leaving others an advantage because, in the real world, generally speaking, a big advantage over someone else could mean power and influence over resources for that person and for oneself a bigger disadvantage after all than going empty. I think this subconscious thinking is ingrained in our brains. However, from a moral and practical perspective, the "share" option can also be better despite losing money (think of collusion to share the money after the show if there is only one winner), even though from a naive rational perspective, the expected personal outcome is higher when stealing. People like me would rather think, there is nothing to lose over resources or power by giving all money to the other person. The other person got to decide my prize anyways, so if you have "rational" people opposed to you, it's not possible to win money no matter what one would choose; therefore the own choice depends on which outcome one likes better (all or no money to the other person). It's rather a moral situation than a game-theoretic game and uncovering or testing the morals of people is the most interesting thing of the show, at least for me. And as another argument for "sharing", there are people, me included, who think that leading a good valuable life is a value on its own with a better impact on life in general, more important than getting a lot of additional money. My personality tends to have a need for cooperation when feeling "dangerous" situations and when I don't know the others, I learned to improve results that way, although I would actually feel in that TV situation. Of course, it depends on the damage rather than the reward because rather than maximizing profit, I try to reduce damage. If the other person would use the money for bad or evil things it makes sense to opt for "steal" nevertheless.
@@elmar64 The problem with your last statement is, you're having to decide from the very limited time you've spent with the other person if they are good or bad. Assuming they're not funding a terrorist organization, you're judging what they will do with the money, drugs maybe? You never know what someone else has gone through in their life, so you can easily get the wrong impression about them, it doesn't pay to judge others until you know their full story.
@@Pete856 You are totally right. I overlooked that the person could lie to me regarding their purpose for using the money or might not provide an answer. Btw, I don't worry about terrorism or mafia, I think, it's very unlikely. In practice, I only worry about lawful crimes such as investments being made into criminal industries, businesses or states, products endangering our future, or the funding of autocratic organizations or people anywhere on the globe which could lead to more unhealthy power relations and excess inequality.
Do you not get the game? He stole it because he wanted it all himself, whereas she stole because she knew he would, and didn't want him to walk away with it all. Totally different reasons.

You can read people's motivations. I guessed this one right, but what if: -person1 tells person2 that person2 is a liar -person1 tells person2 that person1 will steal all the money for himself/herself -person1 tells person2 that person1 will split the money after the show -person2 then must have faith in person1's inner character to deliver promises or else steal as well, being a total jerk and no one wins Beat the system
Yeah she's got a point his face expressions made it very obvious what he was going to do. She seemed genuine but obviously she wasn't gonna let him betray her and walk away with the whole lot. Greed gets you nowhere. I'd rather win nothing than let someone lie to me and take it all

A way to win this is saying "take split because I'm going steal, I will give you half after this but if you don't trust me go steal and we both go away with nothing"
Stealing was the most logical answer on both sides anyways They both agreed to split, meaning that one person will either split or steal If they split and you steal then you get $28k If they steal and you steal then you get $0 but they also get $0 Now say you chose split instead of steal, if they split, you would only get $14k If they steal then you would get $0 Basically if you choose steal, you have a chance to get $28k or $0 and they get $0 If you split, you have a chance to get $14k or $0 and they get $28k

First time ive ever heard someone say ”aaah, its $11,000 😔”
"My children can eat tomorrow!" LOL!😂
Why does the host look like the ancient one from doctor strange?
Lmao
O God he does
Bruh moment
Good on the woman for killing his greed , haha !
Virginia Neil She was lying from the start Dumbass. It was her who was greedy. Keep crying.
Anonyes Shadow
She wasnt
I knew he would steal too he was shaky he was closing his eyes little too
I would have chose steal and if he is trustable i would choose split
Neil, even if that was the case, she doesnt get nothing from picking steal so she is also act base on greed.
I like how she blames it on him. That’s just amazing
Owen Lin bro he knew she was gonna steal she’s a lying bitch truss me
@Owen Lin Fucking delusional sheep
She knew he would steal
Idk if I'm the only one that realized this but when he said if you split she was nodding no and when he said if you steal she was nodding yes 🤔
problematikjoey YT when?
What? When?
@@pierosanna5016 I literally said when he said split and steal lol
The thing is she was thinking of making that excuse the whole time if they both chose steal
A sleight of hand performer should show the other person their split ball and then sneakily replace it with the other, I'd love to see that
That guy was extremely obvious. He kept talking quietly and never said “I am going to split”
Do you not get the game? He stole it because he wanted it all himself, whereas she stole because she knew he would, and didn't want him to walk away with it all. Totally different reasons.
Rob B you have to be either blind or dumb to not recognize that boy was lying. The woman looked like she cared about them both winning, but if you look closely and even when the host asks if they are happy with their answer, he had a tippicaly "I fooled you and got what I wanted" smile
Rosie Carlisle boy knew she was trying to convince him to go split. He want stupid and chose steal. The woman tried to trick us all then in trying to roll the ball to him to let us believe he is the greedy one. From the moment she spoke to convince, it was game over for her
salseros1985 First, the point is to convince the other person to split, so that’s obvious. Second, your grammar makes me want to die.
Andreea Sandu Most of the steals are from women.
PAPAIatDusk what a hypocrite.. I mean if you’re telling her she can’t make an observation, then you make an observation, then everything you said about her being stupid is invalid.

UA-cam: No one wants to watch this
(9 years later)
UA-cam: Hey yo look at this video!
You can read people's motivations. I guessed this one right, but what if:
-person1 tells person2 that person2 is a liar
-person1 tells person2 that person1 will steal all the money for himself/herself
-person1 tells person2 that person1 will split the money after the show
-person2 then must have faith in person1's inner character to deliver promises or else steal as well, being a total jerk and no one wins
Beat the system
I guessed right aswell
Dude, that's already happened on the show.
congrats, everyone else has seen that episode as well
+Milford Cubicle - what are you babbling on about ?
It seems nettles have made the milk drop out from inside my teet.
Yeah she's got a point his face expressions made it very obvious what he was going to do. She seemed genuine but obviously she wasn't gonna let him betray her and walk away with the whole lot. Greed gets you nowhere. I'd rather win nothing than let someone lie to me and take it all
If she said that she knew that he wasn't going to split, then she would've chosen steal also because I'd rather go home with nothing and him too then get robbed and have him take all the money.
Idiot, she just wanted the money
-The host looks like jigsaw
-His helper looks like the helper of jigsaw
-His job is to make people choose decision and they either win or lose just like the movie you win or lose
*Jigsaw Confirmed*
Mr 38i JIGSAW CONFIRMED
That guy was stealing all day long, too quiet and worst poker face I've ever seen
She did the same thing u fucking brainwashed sheep
I’d have a hard time trusting anyone who accidentally blurts out “I’ve never seen that much money” followed by sly grins and literally choking on their words
This is my mum choking on her words she'd just had chemotherapy for throat cancer you idiot
He never said “I will split”
She was planning to split but knew that he wouldn’t.
Therefore she had to pick steal so he wouldn’t get it.
Doctor Who Memories naw she was stealing from the start. Right Before they opened their ball, she could have gave the “ I couldn’t trust you” speech. Or she could have addressed it from the moment they were talking If she knew he was picking steal. Nothing is lost by calling them out. The thing is She thought she had him beat. She was always gonna steal
She was stupid, yes. But if someone says “I will split this” then most of the time it means that they will. Look at other splits and steals. If you go by that simple rule of if they say “I will split this” then you’ll know the outcome.
That woman blamed it all on the guy, mate we can all see how hungry you are just look at the size of yourself.
But why was the guy stealing too and why are you too afraid to say anything about him? Does he remind you of yourself or something?
@@natevic1867 she is the one talking not him
@@natevic1867 The woman blamed it all on him. She said she knew he couldn"t be trusted BUT neither could she.
when she said i’m not THAT greedy i was like okay so you’re just a little greedy huh
Why is this so entertaining?? I can’t stop watching these things
wow, nice people that can read facial expressions! im happy for the old lady 😄
The best one was the guy saying he was adamant that he was going to steal and the other person should split and he will go half’s after the show. In the end the other guy pretty much had no choice went along and split, and the first guy changed to split too.. such a hero
I get so extremely mad at the people who steal in this, I get it's part of the game but I just want to punch them in the face
Yes, but stealing is the optimal choice. You cannot lose with it.
Fat Lady: He's greedy I knew he wouldn't share.
Also Fat Lady: *tried to steal*
She did that to make sure he didn't win though...
Ultimate23Dragon you know people can also lie to make it seem like they’re a good person? In all honesty splitting in this game is stupid, why on earth would you ever trust the other person.
They have the "I'm going to pick the steal ball" face
Before that lady opens the ball, she already knew what the man was going to pick. Her mouth was already waiting for that smile. The smile that says "I knew he was going to steal". Nobody picks steal and be happy about it.
Yes, she thought he was going to split...
They should do this with child hood friends or really close friends cause I wanna see some relationships get ruined
R.I.P Club Penguin omg that would be hilarious. Nice idea.
@@JohnDoe-er1zp tbh in that situation the split steal dilemma is worthless as they will most probably split the money afterwards, so one or both will 100% choose split.
I would be like "yo i'll pick split, you pick steal. Then after the show, write me a cheque for half of it"
I’ve watched a ton of these in a row now...I’ve gotten really good at calling the liar🤣
Why people are so greedy, WHY?!! I would NEVER choose the steal ball, no f***ing way! Even if I would win more with that ball, I would feel like a thief...and all the viewers would see me as one!
I would split every time becuase i dont want them to kill me after the show
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! Cause I didn't have $28.000
And so, another Nash equilibrium gets them.
Well done carol. Well read. She would of spilt but he was showing signs of stealing before it even got to the split or steal stage.
I'd be interested on seeing some statistics on what percentage of contestants chose steal and what the most likely outcome was
Contestants chose to split 53% of the time
That woman was dropping steal signs all over, before he even asked them to choose
'I knew I couldn't trust him!'
Well I'm not trying to be mean, but you chose steal.
A way to win this is saying "take split because I'm going steal, I will give you half after this but if you don't trust me go steal and we both go away with nothing"
She said “ I knew you was gonna steal “
What ever - she was just trying to be greedy .
Lol I would just stare the other person down with a dead expression and say “I think it’s in your best interest to split” lol
you a tough guy huh
Look out everybody we got a badass
Y’all saying that wouldn’t work?
Tiger Moose well at least I can spell rubiks 😔
xd memes yes, that is exactly what we’re saying. We also know that you would never actually do that
Top 10 anime betrayals:
*Number 1*
Stealing was the most logical answer on both sides anyways
They both agreed to split, meaning that one person will either split or steal
If they split and you steal then you get $28k
If they steal and you steal then you get $0 but they also get $0
Now say you chose split instead of steal, if they split, you would only get $14k
If they steal then you would get $0
Basically if you choose steal, you have a chance to get $28k or $0 and they get $0
If you split, you have a chance to get $14k or $0 and they get $28k

Look at her try to flip it on him. I knew he shouldn’t trust you lady.
If he chose split, she would be singing a different tune.
Greedy humans...
@Oh Mane Mane If she knew she could of been smarter and told him to put his hand on the other ball or she was going to steal or something like that
5:47 those faces said it all
5:50 they are both smiling which is a clear indication that they are lying
That's a reflex that humans have when they are about to fool someone
They both thought the other one was going to split, they thought they convinced eachother
You could see it on both of their faces just before they opened the steal balls. They both smirked
The host looks like saw
guy was smiling like crazy before he opened his ball she definitely knew

*What A UA-cam*
That lady is pure genius... I mean genius. Barbara Lerner spectre reminds me of the young man.
Statement analysis boys. The dude on the left never explicitly stated that he would split, where the woman on the right, in fact, did. She could read his expressions and could tell that he was going to steal, so she also chose the steal ball so that he would get nothing.
My thanks to UA-cam recommendation for giving me this gem
She was never going to Split in the First place
The reaction of the guy is like "fuck my plan didn't work" and the reaction of the lady is "damn asshole tried to steal the money huh???
Has anyone actually split successfully ever?
That guy was so obviously gonna steal 😂 ‘that amount of money would mean so much to ME’ he was looking out for himself the whole time.
But what if he choose split, you can’t trust that woman neither
Ok UA-cam, recommend this to us nine years later
Hello and welcome to episode 24 of why is this in my recommended
Its mathematically better to choose steal
This makes me sad how greedy and untrustworthy people are.
