Very informative. I like the fact you showed the unmounted motor to explain what the different wheels were for and what needed to cleaned. Our machine will be better serviced after this great video!
Thanks for this very informative video. I purchased a previously loved IQ system and I appreciate the learning videos posted on UA-cam. My confidence is building with each video that I watch.
I had this blockage happen to me last week with a large quilt on the frame. The one sensor drive wheel I didn’t know about. Thank you for this excellent tutorial.
I own an APQS millinium on a standard frame. Because of the "hard to reach" I clean my wheels after every 3 quilts. I have owned IQ since 2011 and this works for me. Thank you for the great video!
We usually clean our drive wheels every four weeks or so. If I get an obstruction, my first thoughts are "when did I clean the wheels"? IQ will remind me! A visual inspection is a great idea if you aren't sure when to clean. Different areas of the country will be more humid and require more cleaning. Thanks for asking.
How often should the drive wheels be cleaned with alcohol. Also, my Y drive wheel keeps getting damaged, basically falls apart back towards the shaft end that attaches to the motor. I just replaced it around 6 months ago and it’s already damaged again. I noticed that it doesn’t sit flat on the carriage surface.
You will continue to wear out the drive wheel prematurely if you don’t get the wheel level to the surface it runs on. For the how frequently cleaning question… it depends on a few things but I encourage you to do a visual check and if you see any silver(oxidation) you will want to clean. That will help you avoid obstruction messages. Let me know if you have other questions!

I clean mine like that 2 times a month , is that to often?
If your Q-Tip is dirty, you are doing the correct thing. If the Q-tip isn't then you don't need to do it as often. Thanks for the question!
My q-tip came apart on my wheel and I can’t pull it out! What can I do
