By the end of the show, don’t think Agatha be a villain. I think this show will be her redemption arc to becoming the Agatha we know from the comics that is a dark hero that is Franklin Richard’s (Reed Richards and Sue Storm’s kid) governess.

There is a long list of gay characters in shows and movies through the years and it was never an issue as it is now. Why? Because of crappy writing and people self inserting into projects as some sort of therapy.
I have to admit, I went into this show expecting to hate it. As a comic fan, I didn’t see the point of giving a minor character like Agatha her own spinoff, but I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the first two episodes. From the trailers, I was also worried Joe Locke's character would be a butchered version of Wiccan, but I was wrong. He’s actually my favorite so far. Kudos to Marvel-because your recent projects have been pretty close to trash.

I don't understand the inflexibility of hardcore comics fans. Like, think this as a Halloween special run or something, done! I don't know. Anyway.

@@JasonAkersMusic and why do you think they have work really hard to make sure others get their point? The problem is that people will take one look at a female, poc or lgbtq character/story without even watching it and assume that it’s political even when a lot of times it’s actually just a simple character attribute. If they make a character who just happens to be a certain minority and not make it a focus people will complain about their existence and say that it’s lazy and that they have to justify their existence in the story, and if they try to make that part of character a focus to therefore justify their existence people will then complain that they’re “forcing” it to other people. I LOVED the first two episodes. Episode one has been my favorite one so far, maybe because Charmed is one of my favorite shows and I just loved the references. Agatha and Rios fight was something right out of a charmed episode with both of them tearing through the house.
I’m always a big fans of the reviews Grace, even after I’ve already watched the material myself. It’s like chatting with your best friend about some of your favorite content!
@@vicdog4440 Because it's already being sold and announced by it creators using political activist talking points, instead of the merits of its story. Just like "The Acolyte".
I checked out when they started singing that song. I hate musicals and that made me go to that mindset of a musical. Illl give it another episode before I totally stop watching. So far it’s just ok.
Yup. Didn't care for it, neither did my household. I'm into hocus pocus 1's singing, they should've gotten that team to do it. Maybe they weren't harmonized for story purposes?
As someone who's not planning on watching this show because it doesn't interest me, I'm more than happy backing off and "allowing" you guys to enjoy it, as long as you are ok with the show possibly failing and not getting a season 2 if not enough people like me watch it. Take responsibility for once and actually watch the things that are meant for you, don't get mad at people like me who are constantly being told these new things "aren't made for us" for not, you know, watching something NOT made for us!
I feel like a lot of the criticism (excluding those who are just being hateful) are a bit impatient. I remember having these exact same conversations (example: it being slow, whats the point, etc) happened at the beginning of Wandavision. It wasn't until halfway through that people got invested. Let them cook people!
It doesn't matter to me how gay it is, but while Agatha All Along is a decent title for a song, it's an abysmal title for a show and looks so stupid on this otherwise intriguing poster.
Basically to review, with the show complete critics can actually recommend the whole series or not, specially when TV shows nowadays work as a long film cut in pieces, the beginning could be great but the finale could be a narrative nosedive
Usually don't like witchcraft, didn't like Good Omens at all (didn't even finish it), didn't like Agatha in Wandavision. Loved Wandavision because of Wanda's grief arc and her relationship with Vision (still one of the best character arcs in the entire MCU imo). Not hearing anything here that interests me (for anyone that cares about mass market appeal), but certainly not gonna hate on something I haven't seen. Sure gonna watch all of Grace's coverage though!
I felt her character worked in Wandavision, but is there a need to explore a backstory or side story? I think they did this because of the cool Agatha🎵 song, and the show seems unnecessary.
THANK YOU GRACE 💜 As you know, this show is very important for us Wanda Stans & WandaVision Stans. We appreciate your hard work and we can’t wait to watch all of your coverage of this fabulous series 🔮✨
Haven’t Finished ‘WandaVision’ Before ‘Doctor Strange 2’? Sam Raimi Hadn’t Either “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” director Raimi recently told Rolling Stone that even he did not watch all of Disney+ series “WandaVision” before helming the film follow-up (in theaters May 6) involving Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen. “I never even saw all of ‘WandaVision’; I’ve just seen key moments of some episodes that I was told directly impact our storyline,” Raimi said. ”I’m not really sure what the ‘WandaVision’ schedule was or how it changed. I just know that halfway, or maybe three-quarters of the way into our writing process, I’d first heard of this show they were doing and that we would have to follow it.”
One of my favorite historical topics is the Salem witch trials. Though a lot of people don’t realize how much of it is probably more so about marriage and land ownership than a village believing that witches were hurting kids
I really liked WandaVision, but idk what I think of Agatha All Along so far. I think it's too witchy. Too real world witchy, but I haven't seen the whole series yet.

Continuing to put it alongside The Acolyte, wouldn’t that be giving ppl the impression to not give AAA a chance? The Acolyte burned us in the end.. I mean that’s not what I would want to hear. But overall Grace your breakdown and review is 💯🙌!
what’s up with all the Acolyte comparisons Grace? These first two episodes are far better than anything in the Acolyte - and i mostly enjoyed that show! I just don’t see the comparison between the two shows at all but have noticed you bring it up several times in your coverage
Liking it so far. I preferred the second episode over the first, but I think the show is off to a strong start nonetheless. I agree that they’re handling the representation well.
I think saying you want this to succeed because it's gay friendly, takes away from what you really think about the show. And as long as the messaging outshines the plot, the show will be a failure.
Kathryn Hahn(sp) is a brilliant actor! Loved her in Wandavision - she REALLY gets the character, digs in and performs. Love the dead pan actress Aubrey Plaza! They coulda made her MAGIC more brutal and scarier (ala M.O.M/Raimi) - witches are supposed to be DEMONIC and SCARY --lets GO😈
watched the eps already - LOVED IT! I hope that remains throughout the rest of the show... JOE LOCKE IS AWESOME, I am not familiar with his previous work, so I might just have to watch it, based on what I see from him here.. :)
The only other major witch in Marvel comics that hasn't been seen yet also has a 3 word name, so I don't think Aubrey Plaza's character name has actually been revealed yet.

"If it's not for you, I hope you'll let the rest of us enjoy it." First things first, if you are enjoying something don't let other people affect you if they don't. Why would you hand anyone that power. Secondly, no, if a person that has been a marvel fan or is in the business of reviewing pop media, watches the show and decides to review it negatively they are allowed to. A dissenting opinion is not "toxic" as you like to say.
What she’s saying is so simple and you’re making it way more complicated than it has to be. “Let the rest of us enjoy it”. In no point does that request suggest that giving negative reviews and forcing other people to not like it too are the same. Obviously you can still criticize something while still letting others who enjoy it do. They are not mutually exclusive.
No, she's talking abt the toxic twitter community. Where Acolyte fans were minding their business and tweeting how they like the show, but haters quickly found their tweets and just reply nasty nasty stuff. If someone tweet abt a content that they enjoy, please leave them alone. Do not bully them for liking a tv show. It's not that deep. If you hate a tv show, that's ok. But just use your own tweets, don't invade other people's positive threads and sh!t all over it. What did they do to you? They're just enjoying themselves.
I really enjoyed the first two episodes! Much more than I thought I would. I’m now looking forward to watching this weekly leading up to Halloween! I anticipate that this won’t affect MCU proper…at all, but I don’t mind a venture into the witchy/magic side of the MCU. Lord knows it needs rehabilitation after MoM.
I don’t know if you choose the placement of your ads but when speaking of “Teen”, literally as you said “I’m 99% sure he’s playing…”, it queued the ad 😅 For anyone who watched last night, you can appreciate how highly coincidental that is ✨

I’m always a big fans of the reviews Grace, even after I’ve already watched the material myself. It’s like chatting with your best friend about some of your favorite content!
I actually enjoyed it, not as a Marvel show, but more like those old witch tv shows and movies I really love back in the day. It was fun
The acolyte killed the acolyte, dont blame commentators 😂
So, why are those same commentators ALREADY attacking THIS show then??
@@vicdog4440 Because it's already being sold and announced by it creators using political activist talking points, instead of the merits of its story. Just like "The Acolyte".
Sadly in this corner of the world disney+ waits for all the episodes to be released before releasing the show on its platform
Song was badass
I don't like musicals either but that bit was fun, building the tension!
It has to be sung. Think about it as an enchantment.
First two episodes were great. Look forward to the rest of the series.
Yeah I loved the show stayed up 4 am for them to drop and I could watch all over I literally didn’t want it to end 💜
I Love Agatha All Along!!!!!!!
Sounds like the show is not made for me, so I'll pass.
Also, Grace! Witchcraft and Paganism are NOT the same thing!
Eh, 🤷🏻♂️
As someone who's not planning on watching this show because it doesn't interest me, I'm more than happy backing off and "allowing" you guys to enjoy it, as long as you are ok with the show possibly failing and not getting a season 2 if not enough people like me watch it. Take responsibility for once and actually watch the things that are meant for you, don't get mad at people like me who are constantly being told these new things "aren't made for us" for not, you know, watching something NOT made for us!
The review battles of disney shows are more entertaining than disney shows.
I feel like a lot of the criticism (excluding those who are just being hateful) are a bit impatient. I remember having these exact same conversations (example: it being slow, whats the point, etc) happened at the beginning of Wandavision. It wasn't until halfway through that people got invested. Let them cook people!
Oh boy. Can’t wait for the “civil” comments with this show for the next month.
It doesn't matter to me how gay it is, but while Agatha All Along is a decent title for a song, it's an abysmal title for a show and looks so stupid on this otherwise intriguing poster.
I want you to know that depending on what you say here will 100% determine if I’m watching this tonight or not
No pressure Grace!
Alright I’m checking it out cuz i like Wanda
Why should critics get all the episodes? Are you all special? I think 4 is enough and you should all watch the rest with everybody.
Sure gonna watch all of Grace's coverage though!
me skipping to the wanda section of the review 😂 I JUST WANT MOTHER TO COME HOME !!! 😭
I really hope marvel isnt pulling a bate n switch like with evan Peter's quick silver!! 🤞🏾🤞🏾
I didn't care for the Agatha character so this isn't on my radar. I am interested in how it does with viewers and critics tho.
Sam Raimi Hadn’t Either
“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” director Raimi recently told Rolling Stone that even he did not watch all of Disney+ series “WandaVision” before helming the film follow-up (in theaters May 6) involving Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen.
And unfortunally it shows
I was waiting for camp. So happily surprised to see actual positive excitement ja curiosity around the show
One of my favorite historical topics is the Salem witch trials.
Yes, please keep doing the spoiler free reviews like this! I decided 2 days ago to re watch WandaVision and I’m taking my time! So it’s exciting to see this without spoilers while I take my time to start watching the show
Hmmm it just took so long to come out that i kinda dont care about Agatha anymore but i might binge it when it all drops.
We had a two year long pandemic...
Episode 2 was scary! I’m hooked. Joel is great and a funny me if I was in Agatha Harkness’ story but this witchy stuff is terrifying.
I have been very excited for this show the last few days and man was I pleased! These first 2 episodes have brought me back to that Wanda vision level mindset!! Can’t wait for next week!
Just watched both episodes and I love it!!!! So good and feels so different compared to all the other mcu shows so far (excluding Wandavision and Loki) I'm excited to go down this road
Continuing to put it alongside The Acolyte, wouldn’t that be giving ppl the impression to not give AAA a chance? The Acolyte burned us in the end.. I mean that’s not what I would want to hear. But overall Grace your breakdown and review is 💯🙌!
I'm working late tonight, so I'm watching this before watching the show
what’s up with all the Acolyte comparisons Grace? These first two episodes are far better than anything in the Acolyte - and i mostly enjoyed that show! I just don’t see the comparison between the two shows at all but have noticed you bring it up several times in your coverage
Liking it so far. I preferred the second episode over the first, but I think the show is off to a strong start nonetheless.
I agree that they’re handling the representation well.
Urgh I’m so excited to continue this show! Truly the best thing I’ve seen from marvel in YEARS holy hell
They coulda made her MAGIC more brutal and scarier (ala M.O.M/Raimi) - witches are supposed to be DEMONIC and SCARY --lets GO😈
The True Blood intro in the 1st episode was good lol!!!
I loved that too! True blood had such a fun vibe that you don’t see very often.
Omg, you made me really excited for this show. I loved the week to week speculation of Wandavision, so this sounds perfect for me.
I just finished first 2 episodes and I LOVED it, was very refreshing and had a great tone imo. Already much better than acolyte
Disney bot
watched the eps already - LOVED IT! I hope that remains throughout the rest of the show... JOE LOCKE IS AWESOME, I am not familiar with his previous work, so I might just have to watch it, based on what I see from him here.. :)
Omg, the first 2 episodes has everything I wanted from a Witch show like this! I hope it keeps going!!!
The only other major witch in Marvel comics that hasn't been seen yet also has a 3 word name, so I don't think Aubrey Plaza's character name has actually been revealed yet.
Awesome Video!!! As a Huge WandaVision Fan, I Loved These First Two Episodes!!! Kathryn Hahn is Perfect as This Character and I'm So Happy we're Finally getting to see more of Her!!! Aubrey Plaza was Great as Rio and Joe Locke was Fantastic as Teen I'm Excited to learn more about who He is. I Loved all The WandaVision references and easter eggs. This Show is Fantastic So Far and I'm Very Excited to see What Happens Next!!!
A dissenting opinion is not "toxic" as you like to say.
you are correct
TRUTH.
Well said
No, she's talking abt the toxic twitter community.
Pleasantly surprised by the first 2 episodes, it's got me interested in seeing how the story unfolds.
OH THIS IS GONNA BE A GAS 💜
Paganism is actually beautiful and has nothing to do with Evil. So I don't think it'll be an issue.
Imagine being so lame not liking Halloween
I don’t know if you choose the placement of your ads but when speaking of “Teen”, literally as you said “I’m 99% sure he’s playing…”, it queued the ad 😅 For anyone who watched last night, you can appreciate how highly coincidental that is ✨
Can't wait to watch
