So funny, I bought this and never tried it. My husband walks in and sees your video playing on the TV and says "Isn't that sitting right here?" haha. So I have a button maker that I bought years ago. It was expensive but only does 1". I use printer paper, nothing thick. I print out my own things and make them into buttons. Sometimes I make them have flat backs and put them on bags or tags. Thank you for this review, i'm going to try to use mine tonight!
Your ‘square’ experience had me reliving the nightmare of my own negative experience. Couldn’t keep something I couldn’t count on - first button I made was perfect. After that, all downhill! With so many saying how much they love it, I figure I must have gotten a lemon.
Oh, wow! I'll need to try out more of the round ones so I will know to keep it or not. I tell you, that first one had me on cloud nine...and then nope! LOL!!! TY for sharing your experience.
Hi Vianney I purchased this machine last year. I just got the square button maker a few months ago. Still haven’t used the square yet. I am surprised you were having trouble with the paper. I probably did too because I thought I was going crazy too trying to figure it out. I made picture buttons with the using my HP sprocket. It miniaturized my image and I didn’t need to use the milar. Also I didn’t remove the backing off of the picture so my paper was just right. It might always be a hit or miss thing.
Hi Vianney, I have this button maker, round version. I pre-cut circles with my Cricut machine and buy my generic button blanks on Amazon. All around easier & less expensive.
You will love it! I purchased the keychains, mirrors, and paperclips. I use my cricut joy to cut out designs to the perfect size! I hardly use the cutting part of it.😁
I think that's probably best...I have other dies I can cut the shape with. That's really the only hang up. (Well, the square in general was kind of problematic.) I am definitely grabbing the keychain and paperclip backs!! TYSM!
Been watching all of the WRMK tutorials... and I purchased the small, medium, and large button package configuration. I Love the machine; but, it works 100x's better if you put it on a hard floor surface. It is a lot easier to cut & make buttons on the floor because all you have to do is lean in with your body weight to punch and cut. Also, I used a sharpie to mark the North horizon (nearest to the "A" position with a black-colored sharpie)), and for the south horizon on the opposite side, I used a red-colored sharpie so that I won't get mixed up when I swivel from the "A" to the "B" position. Also, it helps if you always pay attention to the object orientation while placing your buttons, and back in the slot because it matters. If you don't pay attention to the orientation of your project placement the pin will not be aligned with your object and your project will not come out properly aligned.
Thank you sooo much for doing this video! I had purchased this awhile ago for my daughter and we haven’t used it yet. You have saved me a lot of frustration! We will work with its limitations, too late to send back. (I did see on HSN that a couple of reviewers said they could only get it to work with copy paper.🙁) Also, just wanted to say that I love all of your videos. I am an avid watcher!! You got me addicted to Diamond Press! 😊
Back about 15 years ago I made band buttons (kids in their band uniform for parents to wear during competitions) and we had a very heavy duty (all metal) button maker. We used circle cutters to cut photos out. We made thousands over the 6 years we did it! Loved doing it!
Well, I don’t know how reliable this machine is. Mylar made the difference but they did give you an option. You had more patience than I would! Thanks.
Right? My other manual button makers didn't require the mylar and it did say it was optional. It tore the paper up with or without it anyway, weird. I prefer the round one much better!!
You had a lot less trouble cutting than I did. Have you tried using fabric? It days to use fabric, too. But I highly doubt it will cut quilting cotton. And I'm wondering if fabric will jam the machine.
Well at least the round one worked really good. You have patience of a saint. I think I would have given up and not make any square buttons. I guess that's probably why they threw that square button one in for free. LOL! I remember a button maker everyone wanted years ago. It was too pricey for me but for some reason I thought I needed to make buttons. Just something fun and different. I'm sure your little one will love it.
I bought this when it first came out with a 20% discount. I think when you consider its price and that it can make multiple sizes and shapes, it's a keeper even with some aggravation for the casual user. With other brands you would have to buy a more expensive machine for each size and shape. (Just my very humble opinion)
Well, you saw how happy I was with the round...and since it basically came with that square monstrosity for free and I also used the 20% off...I will keep it! LOL!!! TYSM! I've already ordered a ton of refills and the other round sizes. (:
This was great! I wasn't sure about it, but watching you do it step by step was great! I might use my silhouette to cut the circles because it did look weird using their cutter.
At least the round one works.I don't know why the square one is ripping the paper. I hope you make more videos on this. Maybe practice make perfect. Thanks so much for doing this review, I'm debating whether I will purchase one. Thanks Vianney, Your the best. 🙂🙂
Hi Vianney, this looked like so much fun and I was tempted to buy it but held off, now I am glad that I didn’t order it. You have so much patience at that point I would’ve tossed it in the trashcan. 🗑 Thanks for saving me the aggravation. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! 😍
Seems like the square top and bottom moulds are not lining up, so that when you push, it shears off the non-lined up parts (most noticeably the corners of the paper).
Yeah, something like that...or maybe the corners themselves are so sharp they shear into the paper there. Whereas the round ones have no sharp edges. That's the best I can think of. TY!
As I'm watching, yes, this is exactly what I was going through. I get to a point where I have to win and the machine won't beat me! Lol ...yes, a bit of a crazy person haha And maybe, I'll hold off on the square lol
LOL!! We got it done! Yeah, the square is a nightmare. I think the sharp corners (like on the under side of the blank) on it shred the paper. It really only tore in those areas (the corners), and the round ones worked like a dream.
I like it, well, it's a love hate relationship lol. I use both WRMK refills and ones from Amazon and the Amazon ones work fine, and you get a lot. I'm hoping they sell the square "plates" as an extra, bc it's so cute! Oh, I remembered that it doesn't like heavier papers, that was my issue. I wasted so many at the beginning trying to get it to work 🙁
I like this button maker. But, I have an issue with the cutting paper system. Most of the time it doesn’t cut the paper completely, which makes that part frustrating to me.
I will try, my question with that would be if it would cut well...like how much pressure is actually needed for it to cut. Maybe cut it by hand if I have problems? TY!
Ahhh! 😣 WRMK - I loved the idea of this but refuse to buy another WRMK product. I have several of their things and had an issue with every single one. I don't know why it took me as long as it did to come to my senses. I really wanted the candle maker when HSN first showed it. I shudder at the thought of spending money on this crappy brand - but they made it look good on TV. Luckily I looked up reviews before pulling the trigger. They were not good. So I didn't buy it. I will never even consider it again. Thank you for sharing your experience. It's nice to see what a non sales person does with these products. We trust you 😊
I totally hear you. I haven't gotten the candle thing, the mold press thing, the mug maker/cup maker thing...it's all gimmicky and probably works as well as we expect from them. Which is not good. LOL!! I didn't get this one initially but finally gave in because it's basically how any button press operates. I really love the round buttons, that square set...well, I can see why it was "free." LOL!!!!
It still tore even with the mylar, but they did say they mylar cover was an "option"...not that it had to be on there. I just wanted to try different things out. Now we know, it doesn't work so well without the mylar and may even tear even with that. LOL!! TY!
I’m old..71 tomorrow…🤩 my hearing is just OK ..maybe not the best..be that as it may, I seriously would watch your video’s more often if you would not talk so fast. When you talk fast you run over your connecting words and It comes off as if you are mumbling..think about slowing down a bit. Thanks for your video
Thank you for your suggestion. That is honestly something I will never do. I am not quite 71...43...but I've been talking this way my whole life. There is no consciousness there, and so it will never change. I'm sorry. I think you can slow the video down if you still care to watch. Thank you!!
Love when you have mishaps..that’s the key to solving problems and creating solutions. Great job!🤗🤗👏👏

Yay! I was cheering for you all the way! Cute buttons! Thanks for sharing!

Yes, I absolutely remember those. For band and my son's wrestling team. SO cute!! I love those buttons and still have all of them. TYSM!!

I hope you don’t give up on it…. I feel now more comfortable working on it ….. thank you for trying…. I will try it and let you know . ❤️😊
I won't! I really love the way the circular ones came out...will have to see what's up with that square! LOL!! I'm definitely keeping it! (:

As you were cutting the paper from Crafters companion I was like " no not for that, lol"
TY!
I don't have the patience for this one! Kudos to you
LOL! I stuck with it! (;

Hello So what size and kind of paper did you use
The round one turned out good. Have you got the mold press from them if so what do you think about it? Thank you. Have a good evening.
Yeah, I liked the round one, too. I will never, ever, buy that mold press, it's just not my thing. TYSM!!
I like this button maker. But, I have an issue with the cutting paper system. Most of the time it doesn’t cut the paper completely, which makes that part frustrating to me.
I'm sold, even though the thick paper didn't work. I wander how it would do with fabric? Could you make a video of that?
I will try, my question with that would be if it would cut well...like how much pressure is actually needed for it to cut. Maybe cut it by hand if I have problems? TY!
@@VianneyCreates yeah I see what you mean.😊👍
WOW! That pin is special.
That first one was just so sweet, too bad I had some issues with the square...but I'll keep working at it!! TYSM, Beda!
you have soooooo much patience !!!!!!!
LOL!! Thank you so much!!

I do photos on my daughters she’s wasted on her supplies on making photo pins on her baby pictures lol works perfectly fine for her
Wow circle looked great but so disappointed that the square was a struggle
They probably improve the machine, you got lucky
Cool .
TY!
That's what would happen to me for the square button, it wouldn't attach to each other
So weird. Maybe that's why it was essentially "free."
That I know you can only use the their button supplies.
Cool, TY!!
You can buy generic round blanks on Amazon that work with this machine.
The oil is new. The other ones didn't have it
I kept saying put the Mylar over it, but you didn’t hear me. Lol
It still tore even with the mylar, but they did say they mylar cover was an "option"...not that it had to be on there. I just wanted to try different things out. Now we know, it doesn't work so well without the mylar and may even tear even with that. LOL!! TY!
Thick cardstock is very difficult to work with that machine. I comment as I see the video.
No worries. (:
Pretty cool but also can be aggravating.
Exactly...I'm keeping it bc it did the round ones so well. I will see about getting that square going correctly. TY!
Is it working now? lol
Good try , the machine is hard to work.I brought an button maker from Badge-mint company so easy to used
Sounds great! TY for sharing your experience!!
Any watchers’ tip- can’t cut the button paper even when it’s thin
Send it back and get the button maker from ebay.
That's so funny, I've seen those from eBay. They look like all metal construction. Just gotta make sure you get the right blanks for the size.

Terrible with demonstrating.. talking too much
