Lee...you are too much! Thank you for sharing your world!
Many thanks! Tools do not make music, people make music. Great music is inside great players. Our lives are better because of you. Peace
Just the way a gentleman’s room should look. It closely resembles the room I call my office, but I don’t have a Santa 😂
No Santa!?!...No soup for you..
couldn't agree more, don't ever tidy it up 😊
Incredibly generous of you to show us the rest of your “studio.” You’re such a humble and unpretentious host.
please dont change that room its great and you feel so relaxed there i'm sure. It's part of your personality and what we identify you with now.
Never thought I would see Leland Sklar's drawers!
“Silly little pieces of nonsense” bring joy to the masses. ✌🏼💙🤟🏼
Just gotta have eh? this I can totally relate to......... 👍
your set designer is fantastic! I have a room just like that--wonky drawer, instruments and even a big stuffed Santa. clubhouse was a blast yesterday! thanks for the hang.
Cool tour Leland....Like the setup.....a little a bit a way from it all a cool little neat nest in a nook of your house to just relax ...make music.....and vent with us turkeys!!!!!!!(Thanksgiving ref.). Thanks for sharing with us!!!! Thanks for being kind and grounded Leland. Thanks for just being a DUDE!!!!! Means a lot!
Thanks for the tour of your workspace, LeLand! I love that you are as ordinary as the rest of us, who have no where near the musical credits and accolades that you have worked so hard to earn in your career! While it has not always been this way for me...my wife and I recently bought a 40' RV and I have no space for a practice room like yours at the moment. However, when she is working at the antique store in Cayucos, Ca. Tuesday thru Friday, I set my gear up and practice, work on tunes, etc. etc. Then I have to break it all down so the place stays orderly...LOLO!
Another reason sharing your studio with us so great... is because it kinda harkens back to 2008 when I met you (again) at NAMM. It was a nice short conversation, but I said to you, "You know...we (bass players) DO listen to everything you say and we pay attention to everything you are involved with musically...because we have so much respect for who you are..." etc. etc. And you responded in your very humble way, "Oh I know you guys do and I really appreciate that and I do pay attention as well..." anyway, it was something like that. I am paraphrasing, of course...it was a while ago, LOL!
Anyway, thanks for all these great videos and all your great basslines! We love them and you, good friend! You're the BEST!
Kurt
I love seeing real spaces of people’s work and creative environments. Seeing yours makes me feel comfortable with mine. Have a great evening!
Wow, am I the first here? Love your videos Leland, you are an inspiration. Greetings from the UK.
Welcome ........
So generous of you to let us follow you around! Your the best!
Your room is as creative as you and a pleasant visit too, thank you.
That's a vintage / antiques store ready to go! What a great creative vibe to make videos in - keep 'em coming and a very early Happy Christmas to you and yours.
Thanks Lee! It’s great to see where the genius happens. It’s like looking into Leonardo Da Vinci’s studio! So cool! Very nice of you to invite us into your home. I feel that we all look at home a bit differently now. It’s a bittersweet awakening for sure. Thanks again Lee. Stay safe.
Pieces of Nonsense. Perfect title for a song. :)
"The squirrels are having a great time " 🥰🐿 Thank you for sharing your creative space and lovely view 💜🎸🎶📀
Wonderful tour of the studio, thanks for letting us in! I really love the way you fix the selfie stick to the drawer!🙂
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
So this is where Santa and the Queen hang out and watch you create your music ! Thanks for sharing inside your world
Still rockin' the #2 pencil!
Thank you for the tour, Lee.
Thanks for the tour, Lee. It's great to get a behind the scenes look at your studio; it is inspiring to see how you can create such a fantastic vibe and sound with such a simple DIY set up. You are incredible! Loved the Playhouse hang Wednesday. I was the person who asked about seeing you change the batteries in your Frankenstein bass because I am building one and I want to see how the electronics look "under the hood" if at all possible...or not. :-) I have new EMGs so it'll be different of course. Thanks again for all the wisdom, stories and virtuoso bass work throughout our lifetimes! You are an icon!!!
I just saw this great news about two Toto band mates:
"STEVE LUKATHER AND JOSEPH WILLIAMS WILL RELEASE SOLO ALBUMS SIMULTANEOUSLY ON FEBRUARY 26, 2021.
Steve Lukather aka “Luke” and Joseph Williams will release individual solo albums on February 26, 2021 via The Players Club / Mascot Label Group. Both artists have made significant contributions to each other’s album."
Looking forward to both!
The playpen of a bass playing pop/rock legend.
Thx for showing us,the inside where it happens 👍
Always nice to get a little BTS. Puts everything into perspective. Or at least a little more perspective.
A well lived in life in a well lived in house.

I know there has got to be a roll of Duct tape somewhere ? Lol, thanks for sharing. Getting ready to pick up a Shecter Bass today, wow how many guitar players say that. stay safe and take care.
Enjoy!
@Leland Sklar THIS came up (youtube suggestions) today, and I so enjoyed, now realizing what kindred spirits we are!😊
Thanks for the tour, Lee! Tours are always fun💕
Why do I find this so interest? His song clips are interesting but the other stuff is fascinating. More hot rod, garden, neighborhood tours please. Plus I’m sure there’s other parts of your life equally fascinating. Cheers
Very resourceful. Good work 👍🏼
Excellent! Thank you! Now I know what that picture is. My only guess was a small dog tugging at a turkey after it lost some feathers. Now the secret has been revealed.
I picked up the Tascom practice machine on Reverb after you showed it a couple months ago.
You’re the best Lee.
Wow!! Just wow!! I have commented about the slippers and then, there they are in this post.
The stories about how you came to acquire most of the "stuff" would be a kick to hear, especially over a soothing libation or two.
If you really tidied up this room, you would blow a lot of viewer's miknds. We have got really used to seeing it.
Give my regards to the Audrey Hepburn figure downstairs. ( I saw it in the background in a "puppies" singing post) Holly Golightly?
All the best my Passadena pal. John & Karen
Will only get more cluttered...
What a COOL space - just as I imagined it would be - filled with art, vibrancy and the joys of life. Thanks for the private tour, Lee. Awesome.
Home sweet Home. Best place to be. Thanks Lee for sharing. 👍👍😊👍👍
Wow similar to my gaff but with a better class of clutter. Thanks for sharing really cool Leland.
Nice tour of the man cave studio. Looks like lots of good memories in that room.
Good morning Mr Sklar, thanks so much for a glimpse into the space from which such knowledge, peace and tranquility radiates to the world.
Would love to see a demo of Santa singing and dancing.
Love it! Thanks for the tour Lee!
Leland solar
I love how you collect all types of beautiful think
You are so creative
At lunch
Oh my Lord that one of my person
Phil is there
Thank you sweet !!
Thank You Lee 👍🏻
What does the wife think about your "studio"? And would she be in trouble if you walked in one day and found everything organized and put away? Thanks for showing us where the magic happens.
She keeps throwing stuff in there.
@@lelandsklar6363 LOL
Thankyou Leland. Looks like a great day there.
I hadn't guessed you'd been in an upstairs room! I'd envisioned it being downstairs or in a basement near a garage or something!
Good to see your three old friends there (The Warwick/Frankenstein & RESIST basses!)
Simply. Thanks Lee for all you share with us!!. You make this days feels better!!
Hello Lee; I’ve been meaning to try to contact you regarding how you are adding tracks to projects remotely. I perked up in this video when you zoomed in on the SSL2 interface as I’ve been thinking about how my trio can be working at upgrading our demos during the pandemic. I have a ProTools home studio, and have been wondering how we could exchange tracks and dub parts remotely. I would love it if you could do a walk through of your process. Thanks so much for your channel, it’s a highlight of my day👍🏼😀
I have had people sending me wave files on like We Transfer and just load into Garage Band and plug my interface in and do my track and email it back. Really straight ahead.
Thanks for sharing this with us, Lee! I always wanted to see the rest of your studio. Hope you´re doing well, greetings from Brazil!
Thanks for the tour
Thanks for the tour! I have one of those old tascam units too!
Mr. Sklar best video yet, nice to see how you go about making your video's. Would be great to see a video on the process of getting a gig/recording offer from the agents call, how you decide what to charge and everything involved. Keep it going and be safe, Cheers Murray
It is always neat to see behind the scenes. How much time do you put in for practice during a day. Thanks for sharing.
I put in as much was i can. Every day is really busy.........
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇱🇺
Hello Leland ! Thank youuuu ! Very nice ! We too in Milano have a room like this ! Ciao from milano italy ! Take care
I Do love the antiques!!
Right on...at the home studio with Mr. Leland Sklar...Bassist Extraordinaire 👍😎
Love it👍😎
Just got done playing my rendition of Spirit's "I Got a Line" on a strat through the new Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb (great amp) in my studio. Remember that one?
Love that tune. Fun stuff👍😎
👍😎❤🖖
Love brother
Lee, thank you for your video, we have a great time together with these fabular bass lines that you offer us... From France.
I missed this one. Glad I found it. Lee's room looks similar to my room full of keyboards and stuff. No Santa, though.
Thank you for showing us a piece of your world. The MAN cave.
U got it all Lee. What more can u ask for. Thx for share.
Grettings from Sweden
My wife LOVES your work, and HATES my cluttered music room. I showed her this video.....it didn’t help my cause, but thanks for trying....
They make them. It's the Tascam GB-10 and I instantly bought one for my son for his birthday as soon as I saw the legendary Leland Sklar uses it, even before I finished the video. Looks like an amazing product. Hope they buy you a coffee for the business. Peace!
Thanks for the tour. I'm looking forward to see a current (Dec.8th) video to see any changes in 2 years. All the best!
You are just so awesome ❤️
Love the high tech selfie stick w/ C clamp!! :)
Beautiful home! I enjoyed that Hollywood kinda history!!!
I love you👍😎 your a down to earth guy that can relate to. Your room looks soooo much like mine own😂
Fabulous, thanks for sharing Leyland 🥰. Stay safe ✌😊🙏
Wow! Lee I have that exact same Bass Trainer. Awesome tool! I've been able to replicate some great bass riffs with the help of the Bass Trainer...👍🤙🎸
Thank you for the tour. Have been quizzical. What type of old windows am I looking at? Leaded glass? Old steel frames with single pane glazing?
The house has some wood frame, a ton of steel casements and leased glass.
Cool room. Very nice room.
Very good and funny videos bring a great sense of entertainment!
Remarkably similar to my 'work from home' setup. Even down to utilizing the drawer for an arm rest!
I would love to know more about the hot rod. Maybe you have done that already and I just missed it?
More to come!!!!
@@lelandsklar6363 I don’t have to tell you this but p put a good cover on the rod now that’s it’s detailed, with all that polished aluminum it will go to hell fast in your garage!
..All the Time, Stu-Stu-Studioooooo. 🎶
Brilliant, thanks.
Love this, your just like everyone else! I have a room where there is to much stuff too! I keep the door closed.... 🙂
Thanks for the tour! A cautionary note though.......be careful of any through-the-window shots you provide that might give away your home's location. You DO NOT want people to know where you live. Sad commentary on the world we live in, but it is what it is.
No give aways there. Thanks!
@@lelandsklar6363 I second that Lee be careful.....You were good though no giveaways!!!
You also have the 'that will come in useful one day' outlook too mines with auto parts as well .Met a guy at a car show in summer 19 he had a 57 t bird i had an original 50's ford genuine boxed distributor cap had it for forty years he now has it and free
so happy to see a creative person with an office like mine.... I have everything but a Santa, I do have some mannequins that I do use in my business.
Holy crap, man. This looks like my place, except I don't have as many basses or a Santa. Man, and the way you 'jerry rig' stuff like with the selfie stick and C-clamp, same here. Cool. My practice amp is not quite as good as yours either - 1960s Silvertone guitar amp w/10" speaker. Thanks for the tour, Lee. I love what you do.
It might seem in disarray, but I'm sure that you know exactly the place where every small thing is, whether it's under, behind or in something. This is something a cleaning lady would ruin in an hour, and take you a monthto figure out where that "little doohickey thing" that you desperately need every four or five days went, even though you ALWAYS put it "right over here."
TOTOlly want that shirt.
Brilliant Leland, great insight into your world! The audience ware a bit animated though, maybe throw some food and drink their way. You may get a better response!🤣
Beautiful place you have there.
Really interesting, thanks for a peek at your “stuff”. Stay safe.
Nice to see your high tech nest!
Always good to someone's room even more disorderly (just barely) than my own!
Thanks for the look at your setup. I asked you a few weeks ago how you recorded your bass. You replyed on how you did it. And, now I can see a visual. I'm always interested in what musicians use for equipment. That Walter Woods amp sounds good. Thanks for taking time out of your day for us.
This is the type of room where your significant other rolls their eyes, closes the door and pretends this room does NOT exist in the house. HA! HA! HA!
The Warwick bass is so close to the heater register!!!
Heater not on.
Nice overview 😊
I want this room as my PC wall paper!
Nice and warm ...👍🍷
Love this ! Great!
Nice old dresser Lee.
Hi Lee !!
So cool, Mr.Sklar...seems like a very cool house filled with very cool things. Thanks for the glimpse. 🖕
Thank you so much! I'll show that one to my partner. She always bitches about the chaos in my flat...🙏👍😜
