I know it has been a few years since this was posted but I actually built this for whiskey shelves this week! The pipe was a little more expensive than I had thought it would be. But building this was so much fun and my first real woodworking project. I had a blast and my whiskeys are now well displayed. Thank you!
One of my favorite things about your videos is that you don't have a bunch of intimidating tools and set ups...It feels like anyone can do what you're doing! I do have a lot of intimidating tools but for some reason your videos are very serene to watch! I'm definitely building these shelves!

This is at least the 4th (5...if you include that I did one twice) build from these two that I've done over the past two months. Give or take you upgrading your material quality, they are fairly spot on with pricing. I have found that building these things makes me feel pretty good about my wife answering the famous "where'd you get these?" from friends. Thanks for doing projects that a "weekend warrior" builder like myself can handle. My only problem with you guys is that I keep seeing MORE of your projects that I am going to build.
Dude... You're a genius. You just taught me at least 3 game changing techniques. Sanding dowels with a drill, using a speed square with a circular saw, and of course the method of making floating shelves without expensive hardware. Thank you! Awesome work!

I freaking love this better than the floating shelves I wanted to do. I love the rustic / industrial chic look. I think this would continue my theme thru out my home with my pallet wall. Just went to home depot to price this out and the pipes and joints by themselves were $292 before tax, not even including the tube straps. The floor flanges were nearly $100 by themselves, but in the amazon link they give there's a 10 pack for $17, basically 83% cheaper. If you're going to build this, definitely shop the price on the plumbing part.
