Tom, I really appreciate your videos. You've helped me a lot. What are your thoughts on imbalance and order blocks? The big drop down on the DOW that reversed on you so quickly seemed to be an imbalance/order block fill to me.

You can trade in many ways. Tom doesn't trade imbalance. I have a few friends who do there is nothing wrong with that. Just trade what is best for you. The question if you make money or not is 95% mindset just before you take a trade (did you follow your rules) and especially how you manage the trades you are in.
I kinda feel that Al Brooks a bit advanced series for me right now.

not at all. One of the 4 clocks is just ticking. Tom just got used to having the sound.

paraphrasing a great thought from 1:07:40: "when wrong, don't give away a lot. when right, charge a lot."
Also, about the "not a good day," comment at 1:40:40, I think that those kind of adjectives can fan emotions and it might be more productive to not judge trades, days, etc. at all.
1:50:15 in regards to "overtrading," I haven't really understood any meaning in that word for myself. Rather, I've noticed I either trade impulsively or with discipline. If it's the latter, the amount of trades doesn't seem to have any relevance in and of itself.

Thank you you highlighted some good segments.
Overtrading usually means getting in too deep with faaar to high risk in comparison to your funds. Most often on the shorts that then wipe you out very fast, especially when having leverage. Like Tom here, he trades most often with 200:1 CFDs. So even a 0.5% sudden drop wipes out his position.
Shouldn't you just close your short when you get a huge candle down like that?
Depends - he might have a scenario or something on a higher timeframe.

I don't mean to be a whinger or an idiot, but I don't whether to feel encouraged or discouraged watching this when I am struggling to make even consistently $100 a day (off 40K)...which means I am doing a lot wrong. I have been trading in that Al Brooks / PAT Mack camp but just so emotional due to having to live off trading. I have good intuition but just wreck it by getting in to early, getting faked out or taking profit too early. I just hope I can survive! Sorry, just under enormous pressure and needed to vent. I find I get in a trade, I get faked / or whipsawed out, take a loss then the trade does what I thought it would....I just want to be consistent and put years of trading on and off finally to pay off. I still have hope...

@@MindsetMojoHacks Thanks kindly...just going through a rough patch and I admit I am a bit desperate, so been jumping on anything. Also I find that Gold/Bitcoin in my Forex CFD platform are so volatile....unbelievable how they chew up your money...I am in Australia and have access to either Forex pairs or get into regular stocks/indexes. Some have advised to just trade a few pairs (such as EURUSD or the majors) and get in rhythm with them. I have had good runs but I am in need of a mindset makeover,,,,I am my own worst enemy at the moment! Thanks again!!

@@MindsetMojoHacks Thanks and I sure will! I know you don't give advice but is FOREX (such as the majors) my best bet? I am just doing whatever I can to put probability on my side and if you think that the EURUSD is a viable option then I will focus on that, and drop Gold, Bitcoin...or conversely trade the US30, US500, GER30 etc indexes on my CFD platform. Thanks Lennie, and I will stop asking questions! I spent a few years in Copenhagen when I was little....I spoke Danish but sadly have forgotten it!!
@@TheStrataminor You got to fix your mindset. Without the right mindset - the rest really doesn't matter. Take one product. on 2h or 4h time frame. Trade as small as you can and go back to the very basic. Like double tops or buttons. EurUsd could do but I would prefer sp500. Just ONE product small size, and only ONE setup. And take ALL setups for 20-30 trades no matter what. Keep your sl and tp on all trades (remember on tp close is close enough). I think this can help you.
