Earlier in 2022 I was asked if I wanted to give a talk about trading for the IX show in London. I agreed and hired a film crew, just to capture this moment in time. Unfortunately, the location was awful, and the acoustic was terrible. The recording was never intended for commercial purposes, but I decided not to publish the recording.
Then my “wing-man” and fellow trader Lennie persuaded me to hand it over the recording to him. Over the last 6 months Lennie has worked on the audio and the visual, and he has created something, which is still sub-optimal, but it is a significant improvement to the original version. So, if you want to thank anybody for this, please thank Lennie. Without him, this would never have seen the light of day.
This recording shows me trade live, while educating a small crowd of 25 people. The cost was £175 to attend and all proceeds went to the organiser to support the show. I have worked with the IX show and Simon Campel for 20 years, since I was working at City Index. He is a fine friend and gentleman and the IX show follows an ethos I can get behind: share knowledge.

More please. When I was a Series 3 broker, I instinctively traded the S&P using your methods. Years I got hoodwinked into thinking it should be more complicated. I’ve made every mistake since. Tom, I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video and that you took the time to record it and post it to pass on your knowledge for free. I'm 15 years into my career in health care, work as a paramedic and I'm at the point where I feel like Ive given enouugh to public service and want to do something interesting and intellectually challenging for myself and eventually make a career change.
I've been trying to get as much free information off the internet because I dont trust any of these scammer looking types advertising exactly what you were talking about, easy money, cars, bitches, planes, all that crap. I've also bought yours and Al Brooks' books and I'm actually listening to yours now. I dont usually comment a lot in these videos, but I wanted to write a thank you, and tell you that we are all grateful for this learning material. tom, in a previous video you mentioned the hougaard bar i'll call it, one that sweeps the highs of the previous bars and then closes below it's own half, well I coded it in pinescript as a signal and thought.huh,it's pretty good, it wasn't until I realized you meant the halfway point of it's OWN body, after recoding, this changes everything, it is such a powerful momentum shift and continuation pattern... astounded.

For almost one and a half year been in a dilemma of a shy, hesitant, no good at trading at all( psychology ). I know there is no need to tell you this what I just said it just made me free from that useless psychology crap burden I did stick to for a long time ( well at least for me it is).
Well this may seem a lot to read so the point is listening to you for a couple of months, watching the charts accordingly, I finally stood up(a metaphor) and did trade GBPUSD right after US session open while I was listening to your live trade but actually focusing on my own trading, and as it was supposed to be
🙂 I lost 8 and then 6 points consecutively, but the thing that surprised me that I wasn't panicked only this time, seriously😇
So the I kept on and won 15 points and then a quick one with around 2 points.
At that moment I thought that's all for today I've recovered what I lost.
But again a kind of confidence out of my magnetic field had already entered into, and the Price Action just started making more sense like it wanted me to further explore it.
Going on entered into a trade and Lost 4.3 points 😉(remembering your words to get out of a trade making no sense to you).
So that didn't make me stop there not because I just lost a bit of what I just gained, but it was making me a kind of eagerly uncomfortable and I kind of liked it being discomforted in a way to test my self with real money.
So I got in shortly after and closed the next trade with +13 points, the next with +1.2 points, the next with +0.9 points, the next with +4.2. * And I stopped after my account balance was Up more than 9%.
That is my story of finally feeling to get the idea of perfection in trading that " Trading is not and never will be Perfect"' what matters is the " The Trader's Equation" that should be Plus and thats all, rest is all the fun watching price action and listening to you and your data you send to members of telegram.
Thanks for being there at least for me it was total shift in my approach to trading that started to make me feel that its something I can repeat every day and end up being profitable in the long run🙂👍

Don't know, probably the 3rd time watching this. It's amazing. Was watching one of these wannabe UA-camrs/IG traders yesterday and he said something. My immediate reaction was the scream at him "PLEASE JUST GO WATCH TOM HOUGARD" and unfollowed.
I would follow this man into battle without realizing it
