Close quarter combat- in other words attackers taking on strong points. Large casualties grenades etc...

Type 99 in 1942...
The gun was in service since 1939.

@@panzerivausfg4062 Early in the Pacific War, the Japanese used the Type 11 Light Machine Gun and the Type 96 Light Machine Gun. Especially on Guadalcanal and the First Battle of Wake Island. You are talking about 1939, when the Japanese army was equipped with experimental Type 99 light machine guns in small quantities during the First Battle of Changsha.
