- VE2 SS Thunder Ute. A quick walkaround of my mate Wayne’s excellent ride.
For all those not from Aussieland , “Ute” is short for utility vehicle. In the USA they had Chevy El Camino and Ford Ranchino.
This is our Aussie version of that type of vehicle- but better.😀
Holden made them in inline 6 cylinder engines, and in 1990 came the V6 version. Luckily for us these V8 versions have been there since the late 60’s starting with 253ci and the 308ci. Nowadays the LS engines are the norm, and they go great.
Holden stopped production of locally built cars and V8’s in 2017.😔
We have a Holden V8 club in Cairns “Mates and their V8’s, we go on cruises and catch up for coffee or beers when the weather is fine. A couple of slides included in the video.
Many thanks to my mate Wayne for letting me film his girlfriend.🙏😀 . The car just had a nice lumpy cam installed and had a fresh tune, she goes very well and car has an excellent ride . Great fun!
You can tell from 50 metres away how cared for she is.

Gavin great sounding V8 if only this car or yours could stretch its legs in Czech where I do 140 and the cops leave me alone or better still German Autobahns would be the GO. Cheers Tom
I completely agree. We have all this open space in Australia and unless you live in the Northern Territory, we are limited to 110kph. The Czech roads and German Autobahns are safe and mostly in far better condition than our Aussie roads. Driving a car at speed can be done safely on good roads , our politicians here love regulations and red tape...it’s quite sad .
I would love to see what my car is like ( as Wayne with his car) driving at a decent speed, unfortunately we would need to go to a racetrack for that, none in Cairns.😔.

Hi Jordan, I noticed you have stopped uploading, I guess life gets busy and the videos can be a bit of work to get organised. I look forward to seeing more of your reviews soon. Wayne’s car is a 2011 series 2, he brought it 4 year’s ago. It is his pride and joy and as of 2 months ago is now a “Sunday driver”. It only comes out in the nice weather and is protected by a car cover and a locked garage- he is a lucky fella.
