Fun fact about St George's Park. Due to being on the Isle Of Wight, it's the only English stadium to be in a different time zone - when you visit the IOW you need to set your watch back 40 years

Knowing the difference between historical, ceremonial and legislative English counties, and getting it correct, is probably the greatest achievement of any Australian in history!

Glad to see "this field" on the list. A very underrated stadium.
Manchester United actually used Home Park as their 'home' ground once. It happened in the 1970s after crowd trouble during a European fixture. As a punishment UEFA ordered United to play their next home tie not less than 250 miles from Old Trafford, and Plymouth's ground was the only stadium in England with a reasonable capacity that met that criterion.

I appreciate how you chose a selection of football, rugby and cricket grounds.
And oddly enough, I have been to a very large number of the ones chosen covering all four sports!
Berwick Rangers aren't the only English club playing in Scotland; Tweedmouth Rangers were formed in 2010 and in 2016 they joined the East of Scotland Football League. They're currently in First Division Conference A, which puts them in the 7th tier of Scottish football, two divisions below their near-neighbours Berwick Rangers. They play at a very lovely little ground that adjoins the eastern boundary of Shielfield Park.

Gretna used to play in the Northern Premier League & the last Scottish club (I think) to play in the FA Cup.

Excellent work and research fella. Getting double hammered at Tottenham was an amusing anecdote. Blackpool s ground from years ago with its wooden open air Gene Kelly stand would have made a nice feature. All the away fans were plonked in there and they were more than often heard singing in the rain.

yes that would be really nice. As there are only 18 states he could also do his Top 2 or 3 in every one. We certainly have enough cool stadiums in Germany

Loved the tongue in cheek narrative, apart from the rather naughty and sarcastic, slipped in at he end comment about my beloved Tottenham, but ignoring that, thank you for stating the inevitable with regards to our fabulous stadium. I type this on the evening of 30/04/22 and tomorrow I shall be sat high in those very stands behind one goal, cheeering my boys hopefully towards a win against Leicester City. Great work bud, cheers.

Fior future reference, if you are going by ceremonial country boundaries, then the Stadium of light in Sunderland is in County Durham and St James Park in Newcastle is in Northumberland.

Not a rugby boy by any means, but I live a couple of miles away from Kingsholm and on big nights you can hear the fans crystal clear. Great atmosphere.

How about the HAC for the City of London? Cricket is played there, and Saracens usually used to play a pre-season fixture there.
Don't think HAC is in City of London. Pretty sure the border is just north of Barbican so HAC would miss out by a block or two

JSS Huddersfield has a very unique design & was the first purpose built all seater modern stadium built from scratch after the Taylor report. The people that designed it went on to build the new Wembley stadium.
Nice to see the Country Ground included. Definitely the best stadium in the county.
Thoroughly enjoyed that! For Gloucestershire I would have gone with Forest Green Rovers' eco-ground in Nailsworth, or the Boys College in Cheltenham (used by Gloucestershire cricket club for a series of matches each year), but Kingsholm is a fine choice.
At least at Kingsholm the ball doesn't vanish into the distance if kicked too high...
I have been to most of the stadiums on this list, the only time I went to the John Smith Stadium was to get my vaccine though, so there wasn't much time to enjoy the ambiance.
Although my club Burton Albion was mentioned for Staffordshire i think you will find that Stoke City have the best ground in the county followed by Port Vale.
Fratton Park not mentioned...now there's a surprise:)!

Even England's smallest county (where I'm from) Rutland made the video
Bristol has been a county in its own right since 1373 (apart from when it was part of Avon in the 1970's/80's), and the City of London is a ceremonial county. Both are much smaller than Rutland!

County Cricket Ground in Somerset has been the setting for a few Chris Gayle T20 smash 6’ers!… bit like Oracle Park in San Francisco .. people in boats were ready and waiting in the River Tone to collect the ball
Personally for Hampshire I would have picked fratton park due to the old style and the fact it almost sells out most matchdays

This field is amazing!
There's a half sized football pitch at the city of London school on White Lion Hill across the Thames from the Tate Modern. Other than there there really isnt much in the way of sporting grounds in the actual City area.. with HAC being just outside. Finsbury Circus gardens might make for a neat little cricket ground if you took the park away.
Very good video. It had a high joke count. Bath's Rugby ground should have got the Somerset pick. Not sure about this 'riding of Yorkshire' stuff, last time i heard that was in that awful Abbey show.
Gotta love how a video can also divide Manchester like the iconic derby.

Boston United's new Jakemans stadium, although smaller is a much better stadium than Lincoln city's Sincil bank stadium. In my opinion. (Lincolnshire) Thanks for a great video 👍🏻
That was a good mix of Football, Cricket and Rugby stadiums, rather than it all being football. I like how in Hull's stadium, the seats are Black, white and AMBER (DON'T GET TRIGGERED). It's home to Hull City football club that play in (Not gold, not Orange) Amber and Black but also Hull FC rugby league team that play in Black and White, so it incorporates both teams colours, while having the majority of seats black, the colour they share. Surprised that the Bet365 wasn't the one for Staffordshire but I guess being in Stoke-on-Trent holds it back and I'm glad you showed Headingley for West Yorkshire but respect you didn't choose it.

edit: you are wrong about Flock of Seagulls being the most famous band from Liverpool, quite clearly it is Echo and the Bunnymen. I think historically Liverpool was considered Lancashire while the other side of the Mersey was Cheshire. My Gran who is now deceased would insist she was from Cheshire if anybody suggested she was Scouse or from Liverpool.

It's either Germany or Canada next. I've started on both of them. I think sixteen states is more than enough. We have just 6 in Australia.

Please do women's football stadiums. UEFA Women's Champions League and FA WSL stadiums would be great.
Lots of tough choices there. But you have forgotten one key factor with west Yorkshire. Namely that the atmosphere at the John smiths is terrible. The lowered corners mean that fans struggle to create that noise that places like Elland road and headingley strive with. As a huddersfield I'd have to go for headingley even with the shocking away end
biased because I'm a cricket fan, but I think London should have gone to Lords, it's got old new, character, history etc. Although Tottenhams stadium is spectacular tbf.
Am pleased you chose The ageas Bowl for Hampshire though, I'm a Hampshire fan, so it's great.

Best in West Sussex has to be Horsham cricket ground in, of course, Cricketfield Road. It is just what a cricketfield should be.

If you find the county name “Cumbria” funny, bear in mind cumbria has a town named Cockermouth. Cumbria gets its name from “cymry”, a celtic word which also serves as the root of the word “Cymru” in welsh. Cumbria is a celtic region that used to speak Cumbric, but many aspects to its slang, place names and local culture are still celtic. Love Brunton Park. Come on Carlisle
