indeed. Shall we just nick one of the plush snobby Bachmann collectors club ones? In fact Bachmann should take on DFS and Sofology's sales tactic - "Order now for Guaranteed Christmas delivery".....would that work with their class 158????

Exactly right, i don't really have an interest in model trains but i really like the diorama's created for them, particularly different era's, and the build process is fascinating, it's basically someone without the Patience or temperament to pay the attention to detail needed to do this, watching someone who has.

You are both very inspirational. I keep having long breaks before I move on with my layout. It is good to hear that you also need "thinking" time. The hobby is about having fun but also about improving your skills. What you run and how you model is not that important - as long as you enjoy it. What I will eventually build is anyone's guess, as I keep changing my mind and hence the layout!

Didnt get to the show this year...saw loftus road last year or the year before..in the flesh is the best way to see these layouts. Lovely “video chat” chaps! Much inspiration gained from you both by many, me included and I’m a 50+ year modeller. You are to be applauded and, as Richard (EJ) said, whether it’s just the right time or progress in the hobby. Much has to be rewarded from being a relative youngster in the hobby. And you chaps have it. Embrace it, enjoy it and keep up the great work.
I played with “how to introduce sound” as far back as 1968. How did I achieve it? And extra motor in a Class 37, not connected to the drive and running as soon as power was applied. Of course it ran quicker than the bogie (was an old HORNBY Model), and that was it. It worked! No LEDs then so lighting was problematic - so not really feasible well, not comfortably.
Any road, all the best to you both, and your subscribers - and your input! Bob

Hi, Great YT clip and excellent to listen to, funny when you see someone that you have listened to for what seems like a life time in Modelling Years, and all we see is there layout along with them talking about it, and we get so use to there voice and never seeing them in full apart from there hands as they show you aHow-To clip etc.., but then you see them (i’d love to say in person, but sadly that is yet to happen for me on a lot of great UA-camrs I watch on a daily weekly basis) so to watch you guys in this type of interview setting and they look nothing like what you see them as, in your minds eye as it where...! So great to put a face to the Layout, at least in the future we will know you from your UA-cam, but you wouldn’t have a clue who we are, but as and when that day happens, you keep my time occupied while i watch your many UA-cam clips that you so lovingly put up for us all to watch, and to that, we can all only say Thank You, and hope one day I get to meet you all to!

Great to put a face to that voice. What sort of paint are you talking about? Matt, gloss eggshell, humbrol, acrylic, emulsion, external, interior your own blended mix? Sounds great, straight out of the tin, tube, oil based, water based, metallic, paint with thinners for spraying, oh my what a can of worms have you opened now? Don't get me wrong, i used to build kits as a boy and i drove trains for BR in your precise era, i could shrink myself down and drive quite a few of those traction units. Only joking, great chat.👍👍👍

Richard, Interesting that your reason for not implementing related to the size of the loop needed to the MGR train to turn around; CEGB had exactly the same reservation, and so only implemented a full MGR at a couple of power stations! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merry-go-round_train
It does challenge the possible realism of using the Consett hopper emptying system to give full hoppers in one direction, and empty one in the other.
Passenger trains are so much easier, because the loading is not so visible, and could be expected to be similar in each direction (if not at all times of the day! ;) )
    Regards,
    Tom
