Man, seen some of these. After what happened between Dave Pallone and Pete Rose, Pallone was fired by Giamatti for being gay after an article outed him. Pete Rose was to attend anger management classes. Did see fans in Atlanta throwing trash after infield fly rule was called. Fans were upset when it was called. Took a while for the game to resume.
I remember taking my kids to a game where they gave away radios shaped like baseballs. Our team was getting stomped and people started throwing the radios on to the field, including unfortunately my 5 year old daughter. The umps threatened a forfeit if people didn't stop.
True story: back in the very early 90s when the yanks were one of the worst teams in all of baseball and their paid attendance Numbers almost matched that of the current Miami Marlins team, it was hat day at Yankee Stadium and the yanks were behind the Rangers by a few runs. It was pretty hot that day so I think half the stadium was either sleeping or were about to get up and leave. Then the yanks had a rally with some men on base and Don Mattingly hit one of the biggest home runs you’ll ever see. The fans went crazy and everybody threw their free hats out on to the field. It was such a great gesture, but out of pure protocol and redundancy, the announcer warned everybody about throwing objects on to the field
Oh so throwing things into the field has been happening throughout sports history. So when it happens in the current era we should embrace it because it’s a tradition 😉

Hockey players don’t get too sensitive with hats thrown on the ice after a hat trick
A beer can, golf and baseball is totally different then a hat. Those things can really hurt you.
And that’s done to celebrate a hat trick and more predictable,not what’s shown here.

Thanks for putting these up. These players now like Westbrook and Irving cry like B's when pieces of popcorn are thrown or someone misses with a water bottle. We see here in the 90s at ball games, people are throwing baseballs and golf balls. The fans had some power of the product back then, now the fans have Zero power, which is why these leagues put a crap, boring product out there now.
