Gothel climbed up through a Whatever Story window with intent to steal something: a strand of the baby's hair _at first,_ then the actual baby herself when the hair idea fell through. The window was unlocked, so it's not Breaking and Entering, per se, but it _is_ *Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling* (the dwelling being the Royal Castle with the king and his family in residence) or *_First Degree Burglary_* by any other name. Gothel's charge there should be bumped up from a Misdemeanor to a Felony with a sentence of up to 25 years imprisonment (depending on where the crime took place), my guy!
5:19 Ooh, another oopsie. Gothel tied Rapunzel up in front of the window, knowing that Eugene had entered the tower through that window to visit Rapunzel before. Her intention here was to use Rapunzel as bait for an ambush, stabbing Eugene mortally as soon as he entered to rejoin with Rapunzel and was distracted with seeing Rapunzel bound and gagged. The fact that Gothel knew that Rapunzel could heal Eugene's mortal wound (and use that impetus to manipulate Rapunzel into leaving with her, to wit, "Agree to leave with me and I'll let you save his life; refuse, and he dies,") is immaterial; the threat to manipulate Rapunzel would not have worked if Gothel had inflicted a less-than-lethal wound on Eugene, and this whole plan was premeditated. That's *_Attempted Murder FIRST Degree,_* my man! In some nations, Gothel _might_ have an appointment with the executioner for _that_ one.

Tamatoa can think, speak, sing, remember things and entertain thoughts of revenge, but he's still a giant crab and he's sometimes driven by hunger, as evidenced with his brief anecdote about eating his own grandmother, though Tamatoa neglects to mention whether his "enormous" grandmother was alive or dead at the time. Would a sapient giant crab killing another sapient giant crab be considered Homicide, come to think of it? 🤔

She can't help being made of lava and rage any more than you and I can just _not_ be made of flesh and bone. So that's just Battery, my guy. rock and Lava was all the anatomy of Te Ka, she has no other way for touch, so I'd appeal to a lighter sentence to 4 years for that later moment of the movie; besides it was Maui's fault that she got Huka Pele with him; so since Maui kind of was the one who instigated Tafiti's turn to Te Ka even if by accident he is the one who should get the added 6 year sentence + times for her actions as well as his own; Maui did do more harm than good to Moana and her people when he stole Tafiti's heart, and he was a bit of a jerk at the worst of times, even in the actual Polynesian myth itself.
