Might have been there as of 1 Feb, thus 3 years' time outside Australia (in North America) met. It becomes a bit hair-splitting about what constitutes "living" somewhere. Does Katrin have leases or utility bills (does a cell phone bill count as a utility bill?) etc from her time with Bergeron? It does seem subjective.

As an alternate for teams Katrin had to do the teams workout out of the same affiliate, regardless of your country of residency, (US). This shouldn’t cloud the issue of where her residency is, the US… I don’t think Crossfit broke the 3 year rules by allowing Katrin to do semi finals in the US last year.
Roman got the 3 years visa , but if he apply for refugee , I am not sure if he slowed to leave the country before he gets his green card, they might not to let him to get back. The situation in Russia right now - you don’t want to be there right now! Trust me!

The community fully supported getting Roman and exception (we couldn't have the fittest title given if Roman wasn't a participant). Furthermore, even if he went back he would sweep his competitors. He doesn't gain a single competitive advantage competing in the East. Compared to the advantage Ellie gets by competing in the West (3 spots awarded vs 11 spots if I remember correctly)

When she applied for the exemption this year she wouldn't know if Tia has an exemption or not or that Kara is going team so she's planning on worst case scenario where the big 3 in Oceania are all competing at 100% health at Torian and she misses out. In the West she has wiggle room with 9 spots but in Oceania she could have a Gui like situation where one low-ish event finish ends her season.

None of the rules listed apply to Katrin! She’s not a resident, she hasn’t been here 3 years went home in 2021 and 2022, no political unrest, so HOW is she allowing to compete here. If she was in the green card process she would not be able to go home in 2021 or 2022…. So based on the rule book she doesn’t qualify under ANY of these approved exceptions.
Katrin lived in the US from 2016-21, went back to Iceland in 22 then returned to the US. Given she competed in the East regional 16, 17 and 18 Crossfit has set precedence in their own competition that she met the residency requirement for 3 years on or before Feb 1st 2021.
@@samsmith8643she was listed as a resident of ICELAND in 21’/22’ in order to compete as an alternate on Annie’s team. There for all that jazz before negates her SUSTAINED residency qualification.

Tia has a child who was born here in the US by default she qualifies to stay in the US. She went back home in 2022.
Tia qualified in Australia in 2022 though. has she been getting exemptions before that?
