Great video for a great kayak! I would really like to see a video on the new 3D drive and what updates were made to make it better! Thank you and looking forward to seeing a video on this in the future.

Just picked a bite fd up this weekend. I was concerned that I wouldn't find the bite worth the bark(bad pun? I think not). Well, it has exceeded every expectation. Total game changer and I love it. For anyone getting a kayak with the fd drive they give you a grease kit for a reason. After an hour the drive began vibrating and making grinding noises. I was getting worried but just took it in to shore and greased it up. Problem solved. I'm guessing the first few times the factory packed grease settles in to the unit and you need to regrease it a few times to fill the unit. After that occasional regreasing may be necessary. The manual actually does state that you'll want to regrease it after first use. All in all I'm a happy camper and highly recommend this kayak. Though I've only had it out once so far so time will tell.

So I just bought the bite fd. At first the drive was smooth and I fell in love with it. However after about an hour the drive began to vibrate and make a LOT of noise. I took it into shore and added the grease which was supplied and that fixed it for about 15 minutes until the vibration and noise began again. I regreased it a 2nd time with the same result. After a 3rd regreasing and still having the issue I called Jackson. Their customer service was amazing and they shipped me out a new drive. The new drive has significantly less resistance and I was quite hopeful only to find the same issues.
I'm going to regrease it a 2nd time and hopefully take it out today but I've used all the grease supplied with the first drive and will have to use a different brand from my local marine store. I really love this kayak and I'm hoping this is just some kind of break in period issue because the vibration and noise is really unpleasant. I'll try and give an update after getting it out on the water again. This kayak, minus the issues I'm having with the drive has been a game changer and I'm really hopeful the drive situation resolves itself.

Just curious how the second drive has been? Thanks

@@turnerfam540 Well I'm ashamed to say I only tried the new drive out once and haven't had it in the water since. I was experiencing the same issue but I didn't get it in the water since the first regrease. I'll be putting it in this weekend or next to give it a second run. It seems like I'm the only one experiencing the vibration and noise issue so I'm hoping the second run on the new drive fixes the issue.

The seat is adjustable, but I think she may be a bit small. Your best bet is to visit your local Jackson Kayak Dealer and test it out before buying. www.jacksonadventures.com/dealers/

82lbs is the weight I see on almost every site. Not 91lbs. It’s 96lbs with seat and drive added.
