Even though DKC2 is my favorite, I wasn't the biggest fan of the "mine cart" levels since every one of them had some other gimmick tied to it. I like the classic "survive the ride" like on the 1st one.
Uno de los mejores videojuegos de mi vida, los he jugado todos, y esos niveles con el carrito de las minas es de lo mejor. Gracias por la compilación, recordé años de niñez y adolescencia.
I like how they didn't have one style of mine cart ride - they generally had two; one where the minecart itself could jump, and the other had the Kongs jump out of the cart while the cart kept moving. Also, why didn't you include Donkey Kong 64's mine cart sections? I know they don't have "Country" in the name, but they're essentially DKC games.
The first one was my all-time favorite level! I played it so much I could probably beat it with my eyes closed! Lol, that’s pretty dramatic, but seriously, I played it a ton 😆
So, I waited for the comment on the "Evolution of Mine Cart Levels in Donkey Kong Country Games" to start, but no, is a video of someone just playing the levels.
Returns had a little bit too much of these levels. I didn't help either that there were also a number of levels with the rocket that played very similar.
Donkey Kong Country 2 is The Best! From Losing in the Levels and they either Cry or get daised. To Beating the Levels and they Start Playing the Guitar/or Jamming out!
I prefer the country returns cart levels than freeze tbh the cart also just looks more smooth to me and has a rusty look like a cart in an old mine should be who else?
Matt Gales dont know to me it seems like the TP ones are better designed, returns seems to repeat itself like how 2, 3 and 4, 5 are basically the same.
@@francisthompson3772 í take what i said, i recently played returns again and my thoughts are that the first 3 minecart levels are nice but nothing outstanding while the last 3 are awesome with bombs away being equally great as sawmill thrill and high tide ride. Such beautiful games, every single one of them in their own charming way. So sad that nintendo seems to have given up on this series. I don‘t care about rumors of a new 3D Donkey Kong game on the switch, all I wanted would have been a new DKC game in the style of Returns and Tropical Freeze on the Switch. These two really would have deserved a sequel after all the years.
Rareware now is not the same that in the 90's, most people that made the Donkey Kong games are not in the company anymore, so Rareware making a DK game would not mean anything.
If DKC Returns and Tropical Freeze's Kong's design size can be as big as DK2 then it would be perfect! So sad to see my Kong's size became so small... :(
I haven't played much Tropical Freeze, but I actually dislike all the Mine Cart levels except the ones in DKC 2. They are so difficult (for me at least). I remember losing a lot of lives to them. The first was in DKC had a difficulty spike...so difficult I had to go to the Level Warp to beat it.
(Keep in mind I do like the minecart levels when I say this) Bombs Away on DKCR is one of the only levels I absolutely hated getting K-O-N-G in. The timings are way too precise, and there’s way too much trial and error. The level as a whole made me hate the controls of the Minecart and how stiff they felt at times. Keep in mind, I like the other minecart levels, and not this one because of its problems!
I really think the first minecart level should have been called "mine cart mania" - "carnage" just doesn't really roll off the tongue so well if you know what I mean
I'm impressed by Tropical Freeze's level design.
yep, it's certainly no mario bros.
It better than tropical freeze

Yeah
Me too
I never realized how insane the level design got in Returns.

DKC 1, 2 and 3 are very iconic and nostalgic, but we have admit: DKC Returns and Tropical Freeze have the most creative level designs here!
And DKCR has superior level music in all regards
I love the saw mill level in DKC Tropical Freeze. It's so creative.
