You make it look easy, but it is very difficult to put the new battery in. Perhaps the size of the CR1616 has changed or the plastic has shrunk. I had to shave off some of the plastic that holds the battery in.
question. do you have to program the fob? honda quoted me CAD$99 to replace a battery and claiming it needs reprogramming .... i am having a hard time justifying $99 for a battery change

Where is the chip located on this? This looks the same as my 2007 honda crv, I can't find the chip location l. Is it at the top where the screw is in?

Nice instructional video but why does your video caption say honda civic and you said Honda crv? Is honda civic and crv uses the same remote battery?
My 2012 Honda Civic hybrid does use the same battery. These instructions worked great.

No need! You can do it yourself. What year and model do you have?

My battery was dead for a year and I did not have to reprogram anything.
Have you got any advise for when the screw wont even turn to come out?
Pry open the plastic all around, just enough for you to take out the fob out of plastic casing
Someone said heat a little with hair dryer
Put in a very little rust check on the screw only and wait and it will loosen up the screw.

Mine uses CR1616 battery, which is 3V. I bought at Walmart and changed myself. Now trying to figure out if it requires reprogramming
