I replaced the battery in my 2005 CRV key fob a few years ago. The other key fob just died, so I took it apart and ordered a battery from Amazon for $3.80. I'm confident that it will work.

My 2012 Honda Civic hybrid does use the same battery. These instructions worked great.

Pry open the plastic all around, just enough for you to take out the fob out of plastic casing

Someone said heat a little with hair dryer

Put in a very little rust check on the screw only and wait and it will loosen up the screw.

question. do you have to program the fob? honda quoted me CAD$99 to replace a battery and claiming it needs reprogramming .... i am having a hard time justifying $99 for a battery change
