Animated Time-Lapse Photos of Union Troops in Battery Stevens 2nd Battle of Charleston Harbor (1863)

An animation of two photographs taken within a short amount of time of each other featuring Union artillerymen in Battery Stevens during the Second Battle of Charleston Harbor in South Carolina in July-August 1863. The original caption for one and probably both of the photos was: "No. 29. - Battery Stevens. Two 1-00 pounder Parrot Rifles. Breaching battery against Sumter." The photos were taken by photography firm Haas and Peale.
