- During the battle of Gettysburg, six 3-inch Ordnance Rifles of Battery A, 4th United States Artillery where stationed on Cemetery Ridge at a little place called "The Angle”. This would be the epicenter of Pickets charge on July 3rd, 1863. Commanding this battery was Lieutenant Alonzo Cushing. Although not awarded until 2010, his actions would earn him the Medal of Honor.

Really enjoyed this little overview. The dedication and bravery of Mr. Cushing is unbelievable. Definitely deserving of the Medal of Honor.
