Yea it’s proven many times that even since she was younger that powder/jinx didn’t respond emotionally to some situations. That she always had mental issues such as when her parents died unlike Vi who was balling on the floor. Powder was teary eyed but really no reaction. She doesn’t do well with high anxiety issues. Either is extremely emotional or emotions less.

I watched the videoclip of "Enemy" before watching the entire series, and I was like awww cute friends, they look so good together. When adult Ekko appeared in Arcane I was like oh, they were childhood friends. Wouldn't be cute if they have a crush too? And then THE STARE happened and I was like I MUST SHIP!! THIS IS A BIG ONE!!! God, I love friends to enemies to lovers trope. I really hope in future seasons at least show some hints, cause I really don't think Ekko x Jinx would be posible. Only if it takes very very angsty, like if Jinx dies in the finale, and Ekko cries for her, like Ray and Kylo Ren kind of stuff.
i mean. this is explicitly in canon a line from him being _incredibly_ unhealthy. this is a bad thing that he says in an incredible low point. its incredibly clear jayce is at the very least someone he cares so much about, immediately after this line; "Jayce will understand." he is abandoning legacy, something he always strived for before his death, and love, something he holds for jayce (canonically, platonically.) because hes dying and hes grasping for straws to save himself, to progress. honestly that line just further spurs me on to thinking theirs a further relationship between them lmao, at least on viktors side. jayce clearly means a lot to him.

I totally believe Powder and Ekko had a mutual crush on each other. It makes sense. They are both roughly the same age. Both very inventive and mechanically inclined. Also it is highly likely that hanging out in Benzos' second hand shop with Ekko, is were Powder learned to differentiate between what's valuable and what isn't and why during the Piltover heist. Vi trusts Powder to look for the good stuff before Mylo fills the bag with junk.
Wow thats a long stretch, im impressed. Its genuinely amazing what someone can interpret out of a clear stare as a plea, and a look of nostalgia and shock. Writing wise, to me that whole scene was a confirmation it was NEVER going to happen. It could literally be signified as the end of the possibilities with that explosion if you want to get technical on a writing symbolic level. And i have an associates in creative writing (shooting for a major in a year or two when the virus calms tf down) I can see how people could like them together. Theyre cute. Writing wise it doesnt jive or square up. And I think that scene is supposed to show the downfall of them. The literal chance of them "blown up". Not to mention, there has been no indications of Powder having any morsel of romantic feelings for the kid. Not even once. Not even a bit. I also believe (this is a hunch and not backed up by evidence) that the introduction of Zeri is going to be used in Arcane and i fully believe her and Ekko will be far more likely than him and Jinx ever will be. I even partially believe thats why she was released now at all. If you keep up on datamines, there were people in the files before her that have been unreleased. She kind of came out of nowhere shortly before Arcane. Like super shortly. And i legitimately believe she'll be built up with Ekko. As a way to make Ekko fans happy. Food for thought. Not hate.

Which means in part one where its estimated jinx is around 11-12 Ekko would be around 8. I think they just look the same because Powder has an especially small frame and build, you know?
It's not so much a case of Riot not wanting to show a kiss between Cait and Vi as the fact that they know each other for like... a week? I think it's just the case of writers going for a bit of slow burn there. I think one of the writers even teased that there's going to be more Vi/Cait stuff next season. As opposed to Mel and Jayce who have been orbiting each other for 5-8 years depending on how long the timeskip is. I think it's understandable that the writers wouldn't want to rush it.

I think that if RIOT wanted to make Jayce and Viktor form a romantic relationship they could easily do it since their bond already has a strong foundation. personally, I dont really like jayvik as a romantic ship. I see it as completely platonic. but the part where you brought up viktor not going on stage isnt because he's afraid people will assume things. the directors made the world in arcane where all sexualities are accepted, so they felt no need to put labels on each character
Yep I agree. Viktor doesn’t want to go on stage because he wants to dedicate his work for people more than earns fame, while Jayce seems quite proud of his work and enjoys spotlight. The show clearly shows that Viktor does not care about relationships at all and all he cares about is his creations and he doesn’t stop unless he achieves what he wants, which can make him dangerous in the future, since he’s an anti-hero in the game.

It's just people obsessing with sexuality. I see It's quite common in westerners today. Two characters of the same sex having a good time together or being close they automatically assume they are gay. Kinda weird and creepy that people do that.
Riot is finally allowing that relationships to be show cases. Diana and Leona were created together as lovers but when they were released they softly implied that there was a deeper relationship before they hated each other. Now in lore they were officially a romantic couple and Solari propaganda makes them enemies.
Personally, I see the Ekko and Jinx ship as something that *could* have been but will not happen in the main canon/timeline. Powder/Jinx has not shown to have nearly as strong feelings for Ekko as he did for her, and now she's become a gangster that stood for everything Ekko was against. Not to mention that he's been ready to kill Jinx since episode 4, he just couldn't kill Powder, who by episode 9 is well and truly gone Edit: SPOILER I guess Arcane season 2 proved me right lmao

Right, it’s yet another potentially beautiful thing tragically lost to Jinx’s insanity, another casualty of war. Their relationship could have worked in a better world
Viktor and Mel have a crazy amount of parallels. The Jayce/Mel sex scene and Viktor’s hex tech breakthrough sequence, the two of them being Jayce’s partners in both science and politics, their childhoods where they were different or neglected and unaccepted/cast out from where they grew up. Many scenes alternate between the two as the focus. The pier setting is only in the show twice, once with Viktor running and once with Mel and her mother walking. Although Mel and Viktor didn’t always get along, by the end of the season they are all together. The scene before the Jinx rocket hits the councilor’s tower, Mel and Viktor look at each other with acceptance. They’re partners as much as Jayce/Viktor and Jayce/Mel. ANYWAYS it’s not Jayvik vs JayMel. It’s Meljayvik.
Also with the fandom’s treatment of Mel as some sort of evil bitch who manipulated Jayce (which didn’t happen btw but Jayce did manipulate her into voting to kick Heimerdinger), ignoring her entire character arc, and framing her as nothing but a roadblock to the Jayvik ship, I will NEVER be able to ship Jayvik without having Mel in there. She’s an amazing character who deserves love yet some people don’t see it because they’re blinded by unnecessary hate for her. The fandom’s treatment of Sky and the way she was fridged (killing a character, usually a female love interest, in order to progress another character’s story/arc) is a whole different story as well…

About the Viktor/Jayce thing: Arcane writers said in interviews that they wanted to create a world where hostility against sexualities doesn't exist, so they wouldn't have to be ashamed to be seen together or hide anything.
and thats all sunshine and rainbows in universe, the "problem" it causes is sadly in the real world where hostility towards sexuality is a thing, and can in fact ruin the reputation of a show, even to a mainly american audiance (i could bring up The untamed as an example, but that's china and it was... ungayed because of censorship within china. although this is not the case in western regions) but i do find it very strange how games/shows/movies are more willing to make lesbian couples than gay(mlm) ones. valorant also has one fully canon couple, which is a lesbian one
I've gotta disagree on Jinx being too much of a free spirit for Ekko, because he's also a very free spirit. He can literally fly with his hoverboard, and his goal is to free Zaun from oppression. In terms of DnD alignment, Jinx may have gone in a more evil/neutral direction and Ekko stayed good, but they're both 100% chaotic for sure

someone said jinx wanted to die on the bridge with ekko, as powder, but silko brought her back. as in, he brought back jinx, but powder died. thats when she fully changed, thats when she went past redemption, thats when she was no longer her past, and no longer vi's sister. that theory is lowkey the only thing that makes me ship them. she wanted to die with him as the version of her that he knew, not the current version of her, which is deep as fuck.
I've heard that. But I've a problem with this hypothesis. Remember that Jinx always outstep everybody. In that scene she has managed to snatch the hextech crystal (the other still think it's in the box). By setting the explosion she fulfilling her mission. If she doesn't Ekko will retrieve the crystal. By killing both, the crystal will be retrieve by Silco who is coming to the scene. And she takes the chance she could survive the blast. She's being Jinx more than ever, not powder.

She could've easily taken advantage of his hesitance because as we see, Jinx always uses the innocent girl act to trick people. Instead, she gave Ekko a sad smile and set off a bomb right beside her own head that he could've, and actually did, jump away from. Another hole in your idea is that Jinx didn't know Silco was coming. Silco didn't know Vi and Caitlyn had the stone, Jinx hadn't talked to Silco at all that entire time. He didn't even know Jinx was there until he saw her bombs and that's why he went.

I am a huge fan of Jarvik, but I don’t mind having them in a platonic/rival relationship. However, I can’t seem to wrap my head around Mel x Jayce. Keep note, I would’ve accepted this ship even though I like Jayvik. It’s just, the way Mel x Jayce started dating, I didn’t feel any chemistry between them. Hell, they weren’t even friends, Mel acted more like Jayce’s boss/supervisor at the start. So, I was more than surprised when they kissed and did two person push-ups, when their relationship didn’t really have a good foundation. Mel and Jayce are both great characters individually, but together they just feel…eh. But, maybe that’s just me.
I agree. I wish we could have seen more of a romantic relationship grow between them. Just them getting to know each other outside the politics. It could have been really cute, now that I think about it.
I think that was the point. To me it felt like a (slightly) manipulative relationship from the start. Mel was attracted by Jayce's intelligence and physique, and she won Jayce over by guiding his and Viktor's success. She cares about Jayce and she's proven herself compassionate but as a complex character Mel is also manipulative, works to get what she wants and knows she can control Jayce. That was her approach in the beginning until Jayce sought her out to be comforted. She asked why from being genuinely confused as to what Jayce wanted from their relationship and mellows out a bit.
I can see Ekko liking Powder but I see Jinx as kind of aromantic right now imo. Also them as a relationship is a little bit of a lost cause because I think Jinx has done so much atrocities Ekko wouldn't be able to take her back as a romantic interest anyway

Loving yet often separated by their nature and methods of operation(while actually having a bond/relationship that persists anything the other does that they disagree with). Ekko and Jinx still care about each other; everything within and surrounding their fight illustrated it. She willingly joined in the game he wanted them to reenact and was gleeful while doing so. Before that she blew up the enforcers, which some may see as her attacking them out of confusion over Vi and Caitlin's hug. I see it as retaliation for Marcus shooting and presumably from Jinx's perspective killing Ekko. Prior to this Ekko was projecting onto Vi that Powder is gone, yet he wears a mask whenever he interacted with Jinx prior. Which can be symbolic of him hiding his true nature toward her, even with what became of her, when they interact; a.k.a he never believed his own words. He's just manifested this outer shell, that melted when Vi hugged him(similar to Jinx being what protects Powder and that melting away when Vi hugged her). Also have ya ever noticed how whenever Jinx thought about/saw Ekko it wasn't with the associated distorted sketches and manifestations that appear whenever she remembers Mylo, Vander, Claggor or even Vi(during the boxing contraption scene in ep 5 and when she was revived in ep 8). Even with the difference of Jinx being infused with a variation of shimmer. It suggests there's a sort of clarity to her now. She's fully embracing who she is rather than holding onto what she was, just as Silco did and affirmed with his dying breath. Ekko is the only one shown any hint at accepting her, as she is now. Unwillingness to finish what he started in their face-off, just as Silco wouldn't betray her for his life long mission. Since they'll be on the same side of the war; doubtful Ekko suddenly will join PIltovers side, given he only allowed favor to Caitlin due to Vi vouching for her. It seemed more like Ekko will open the mind of Heimerdinger and he'll become apart of Zaun's efforts. Ekko and Jinx will be inclined to team up and likely be a pairing. We've already seen Vi joined up with Caitlin who both had opposing views that helped further shape each toward greater understanding and clearly a romantic relationship. Given the ever present duality. Ekko can be the relationship to Jinx, what Caitlin is for Vi.
@@gimmeyourrights8292 well I never said they're meant to be carbon copies of my example. Ekko is far more sociable, approachable and outgoing than Batman ever is. Jinx is far more sequestered than Catwoman. Though they both present a front around anyone that isn't those they cares for; ex: confronting Sevika and 'Chuck'. And there's been instances where Catwoman definitely harms someone Batman cares about or is in the midst of trying to save. But he is willing to understand the layers to her actions. Just as Ekko could or already has contemplated given his extensive memorization skill.
I believe that Ekko and Jinx can still be together, after the fight Ekko saw that powder is still there somewhere , I think in the second season they can explore their relationship more
Varus is TECHNICALLY canonically a gay couple trapped inside a body that is helmed by a cursed Darkin bow... I think? But its never shown because they're essentially just offscreen spirits that have nothing to do with actual Varus the character There is also a dynamic between Graves and Twisted Fate and the writer (who doesn't work at Riot anymore) has come out to confirm that they were meant to be a married couple, but someone at Riot disagreed heavily And thats about all of the mlm gay relationships that LoL has; One that should have been but isnt canon, and one thats technically canon but not actually visible in anything other than the lore
Varus has music video just about gay couple so it is quite visible and shows that Riot isn't afraid with such content - we don't have any lesbian couple in cinematic yet, but we have Valmar and Kay. So it is not only confirmed mlm gay relationship, it even has it's own music video!

Jinx killed people Ekko considers family and she is not exactly in the state of mind for relationship so as much as I love this to be addressed next season having them ACTUALLY become a thing is just weird and pretty fucked up.
besides the scenes where jayce and viktor are actually interacting, the cinematography very heavily implies at least some sort of romantic interest (more from viktor than jayce, obviously) just based on camera angles and the way scenes are framed. 1) when jayce and mel are having sex and viktor is working on the hexcore. you could interpret this scene as jayce choosing mel over viktor and viktor becoming consumed (literally) by his work (perhaps because of it) but i don't really see that. this is because the focus of mel and jayce's scene is on how mel sweetens up to jayce, but he doesn't have the same interest in her. all the framing is around how mel slowly builds up to the kiss, her moving towards his hand, her kissing him and him being shocked, mel's arm going around jayce's neck (but notice how we never see him doing the same thing), etc etc. the biggest clues to me were him turning his back to her afterwards while she cuddled up to him (implying he's not that interested in her) and him being hesitant about returning the kiss. jayce's isn't stupid. he probably understands that there's something more happening, but he's also a fledgling politician, so he can't exactly articulate what's making him hesitate. if the focus of their sex scene was about jayce beginning to genuinely like mel, there would definitely be more focus on jayce and his scrambling to reconcile his professional and romantic/sexual feelings for her, but all of the focus is on MEL which leads me to believe that this scene was intended to show how mel is using sex and romance to manipulate jayce (i dont think she's entirely NOT interested in him, but she is a medarda and the way her mother comes back and is sort of proved right about the war brewing between zaun and piltover definitely makes it seem like she'll realize her mother has some insight and become more ruthless). when focused on jayce, the entire second and third arc is focused on the politics of piltover and how it intersects with science (the first arc touches on this, but its definitely more pronounced in the later ones), so it makes sense to showcase the subversion of sex as an intimate act into a political one. jayce also started out as work partners with both viktor and mel, but eventually entered a sexual relationship with mel after being forced into politics. this, combined with mel waking up WITHOUT jayce and viktor waking up WITH him, to me, heavily implies at least some sort of romantic/sexual parallel (although of course, since characters are grappling with the pressure of politics, its more likely that its hinting of what could have been if jayce had chosen viktor, as a work partner, over mel). the parallels of their character meetings and interactions (work partner -> caring for them -> sex, at least with mel) definitely at least teases the idea of "what could have been" if politics didnt get in the way of science. good character arcs parallel the themes of the show. 2) during the forge scene, jayce just isn't interested in mel and is actually more concerned about viktor. taking into account what you said about powder and ekko's interactions, we can also use that logic to at least heavily imply that jayce isn't all that interested in mel based on the lack of interest he has for her. again, the focus of this scene is mel's attempted manipulation of jayce as well as his concern for viktor. he doesn't smile, he turns away from her, he brings up viktor instead of anything mel is actually concerned about (although he does bring up caitlyn, to a lesser extent, his concern is for viktor FIRST), and he doesnt smile when mel makes a sexual innuendo. he just seems disinterested with mel. while you could make the argument "hes under a lot of stress right now, thats why he's at the forge!" why does he care about viktor first? as a politician and because he wants to do right so badly, he should be focused on the people and the tense relationship with zaun caused by his blockades. instead, he's worried about his partner. 3) look at the way jayce and viktor look at each other! this one is more subjective, so bear with me, but the way jayce and viktor share little smiles and jayce is very comfortable being physically intimate with viktor like putting his arm around him (as compared to mel, there's one scene where he lays on her lap but this was less "im into you" and more "i need comfort" to me. again, subjective on my part). the small giggles and viktor staring at jayce once they figure out how the resonance stablizes the unrefined hexgem definitely screams more than adoration (think of when you have a crush, you laugh at all their jokes and look to them for approval when you do). jayce stands up for viktor when heimerdinger brushes off his need for lifesaving tech (both as a means to help other people and also save his own life). in all honesty, their chemistry (haha science pun) is a lot more interesting and fun to watch. while i understand that mel and jayce have entered a sexual relationship, i just dont see the attraction from jayce. sure, there might be some, but i don't see the caring or need that he has with viktor (think him rushing over to his bedside, constantly talking about viktor, etc). comparing the 2, mel and jayce may bave a sexual aspect to their relationship but jayce and viktor have intimacy. you can definitely see this as platonic or romantic (they're definitely more than just professional work partners though), but the parallels between the relationships i went over in the first part of this heavily implies at least some sort of romantic/sexual aspect. this part is more subjective, but i still think bears at least a little weight because art IS subjective and theres always an interaction between the watcher and the author/piece of media on how it could be interpreted. riot may not be good at giving us explicit lgbtq+ representation, but damn are they good at hinting at it, historically speaking. this also doesn't get into the nature of queerbaiting, but i like to give the benefit of the doubt, especially with how good arcane is. tl;dr while not canon, i personally believe jayce and viktor have some sort of attraction to each other. mel's manipulation of jayce into a sexual relationship (though not without its roots in actual attraction) and his disinterest in her are contrasted and paralleled by his care and affection for viktor at least heavily imply attraction between them. (was just typing what i thought over breakfast. if i have other epiphanies or more organized thoughts ill add them later)
Leona and Diana were canonically a couple when they were younger. I'm not sure if they still are. But Riot released a piece a few months ago called "Rise with Me" in Leona's universe lore and the ending clearly indicates the love that the two share
Vi x Caitlyn is canon if you pay attention to Vi and Caitlyn's in-game interactions. Like you can't tell me it isn't. However, Jayce x Viktor probably isn't gonna happen, and if it does, it won't last because: *SPOILER ALERT* TL;DR Jayce and Viktor become enemies later on to the extent that Jayce becomes self-centred, not crediting Viktor for his scientific advancements, Jayce and Viktor clash over how ethical Viktor's research is and Jayce destroys Viktor's lab while Viktor is trying to save the lives of Zaunites which results in their deaths (however their quality of life should they have survived is questionable).

However, Viktor, unlike Singed, doesn't experiment apathetically and truly believes in saving and improving lives, and that doesn't excuse stealing credit, so I'm still on team Viktor.
1:09 I always read these two scenes as 1: ekko is trying to scare powder by grabbing her leg. She is sitting ontop of the cage of a crab creature who Mylo is poking (making it upset). Ekko was pretending to be the creature as a joke. So powder being freaked out is a part of their playful interaction. 2: right before it cuts away to powder laughing at the memory of ekko falling you can actually see her facial expression change to concern and she begins to do the movements of sitting up. So I wouldn't say its a stretch to think the feelings of crushing were mutal.
She could have get over her actions as child the problem is a lot other crimes were piled upon her across the years and she dosen't really has excuse to them because most were done willing.
Im gonna put this here because I think it would go better here than anywhere else, but I don't ship Ekko and Jinx romantically but platonically. I don't want Ekko to even give up everything that he's made or any possible relationships he has at home. Just that like, if Jinx were to start taking steps to bring a better person, I think it would be cool for them to be friends again.

Regarding Jayce and Viktor, homophobia isn't a common thing in LoL lore and I don't really see Arcane changing that -- they have no incentive to do so. No, I don't see anything between the science bros. That "not in front of them" line was because Viktor 1) knew he was dying and didn't want all of Piltiver to know; and 2) probably feels a little ashamed about his undercity origins and feels like the people if Piltover wouldn't accept him. Also, a bit of a tangent, but it needs to be said: I have no doubt Viktor's continued experimentation with the Hexcore will eventually lead him down the path of morally ambiguous body enhancements and cybernetics, but there's no way he'll become "Glorious Evolution" Viktor. The groundwork hasn't been set and the divide between him and Jayce isn't wide enough for that backstory to happen. Cyborg Viktor will almost definitely happen, but "remove all human weakness with machines" is too drastic a shift in character.
Personally i think that people read a bit too much into every interaction and like to make relationships have a romantic or sexual aspect to it as if that's the only thing that drives emotions and creats bonds between people. Ecco not wanting to hurt jinx for example doesn't need to have a romantic reason. Seeing in her the scared face of the innocent child who once was a friend is enough and children at that age usually don't like each other romantically anyway. Ironically as an aromatic asexual person i find that i can differentiate better between what is romantic and what isn't.

Yeah let say ekko might have a crush on jinx when they were young, but in that age the definition of "love" is unclear as hell, plus for now he just cannot forgive her that easily for all the horrible things she has done, otherwise it just does not make sense at all. And of course on jinx's side, she sees ekko nothing more than a childhood friend. Yeah I love jinx and Ekko ship but I mean people forget that Ekko had a a kid crush. It was fleeting one cause of what happened . More than anything in the bridge scene, jinx was like and still is family to him, you even see it in the wall paintings. It’s natural for him to react protective since jinx at lowest is still like a sister to him even if he doesn’t admit it. He can’t hurt family like that. I don’t like the idea that people need to be in love to show any profound care for someone. I’m sure there is someone you can be protective about without being in love with them.

I simply LOVE the Ekko x Jinx dynamic, even more considering their shenanigans and abilities, i could totes see everyday Jinx messing something up and then Ekko rewinding time to prevent it, or help her out, it's like whenever they're together they never fail! Dude Jayce and Victor totally have chemistry. Yeah Jayce likes Mel but the moment he heard something happened to Victor he abandoned her so he could be with Victor. Jayce definitely feels strongly about Victor.
with jayce and viktor i reallllly wanted them to end up together at first. especially during that first night when viktor broke jayce into the lab to test their new theory. but seeing how they interacted after the time skip, i actually started disliking jayce enough to the point that i didn’t want it to happen anymore. he’s kinda arrogant, and let’s himself be put in the spotlight for hextech when none of it would’ve seen the light of day if it weren’t for viktor and his theories, recklessness, and contributions. he just lets viktor be pushed to the side and takes all the glory for himself. not exactly the best material for a ship in my opinion. a bit of a lack of mutual respect. viktor respects jayce, but does jayce respect viktor? only as an assistant, which viktor expressed was never what he wanted. jayce had the right initial idea for hextech, but viktor seems to be a bit more of the brains behind it.

Second, Jayce did everything in his power to save Viktor's life, going so far as to betray his mentor. He calls Viktor a brother. How is that treating him like an assistant? You, like so many others, are just mad that their relationship is platonic, even though it's actually a stronger bond than Jayce/Mel or any other relationship other has with anyone else. Jayce literally prioritizes Viktor in every situation, over everyone else, but somehow that's not enough. To be honest, I can never see a Viktor and Jayce romantic relationship. The reason to this is because I feel like they're building up the actual lore in league... which if you know the relationship between Viktor and Jayce... then you'll know they won't be friends for much longer. Like, they definitely changed some things but they'll eventually become enemies. You don't even need to know the actual lore to figure that out
They obviously change and grow out in different directions but there's no harm in having a headcanon of a romantic relationship there before all of that happens.

Yea it’s proven many times that even since she was younger that powder/jinx didn’t respond emotionally to some situations. That she always had mental issues such as when her parents died unlike Vi who was balling on the floor. Powder was teary eyed but really no reaction. She doesn’t do well with high anxiety issues. Either is extremely emotional or emotions less.

I totally believe Powder and Ekko had a mutual crush on each other. It makes sense. They are both roughly the same age. Both very inventive and mechanically inclined. Also it is highly likely that hanging out in Benzos' second hand shop with Ekko, is were Powder learned to differentiate between what's valuable and what isn't and why during the Piltover heist. Vi trusts Powder to look for the good stuff before Mylo fills the bag with junk.

It's not so much a case of Riot not wanting to show a kiss between Cait and Vi as the fact that they know each other for like... a week? I think it's just the case of writers going for a bit of slow burn there. I think one of the writers even teased that there's going to be more Vi/Cait stuff next season. As opposed to Mel and Jayce who have been orbiting each other for 5-8 years depending on how long the timeskip is. I think it's understandable that the writers wouldn't want to rush it.

Yep I agree. Viktor doesn’t want to go on stage because he wants to dedicate his work for people more than earns fame, while Jayce seems quite proud of his work and enjoys spotlight.
The show clearly shows that Viktor does not care about relationships at all and all he cares about is his creations and he doesn’t stop unless he achieves what he wants, which can make him dangerous in the future, since he’s an anti-hero in the game.

Riot is finally allowing that relationships to be show cases. Diana and Leona were created together as lovers but when they were released they softly implied that there was a deeper relationship before they hated each other. Now in lore they were officially a romantic couple and Solari propaganda makes them enemies.

Personally, I see the Ekko and Jinx ship as something that *could* have been but will not happen in the main canon/timeline.
Powder/Jinx has not shown to have nearly as strong feelings for Ekko as he did for her, and now she's become a gangster that stood for everything Ekko was against.
Not to mention that he's been ready to kill Jinx since episode 4, he just couldn't kill Powder, who by episode 9 is well and truly gone

Viktor and Mel have a crazy amount of parallels. The Jayce/Mel sex scene and Viktor’s hex tech breakthrough sequence, the two of them being Jayce’s partners in both science and politics, their childhoods where they were different or neglected and unaccepted/cast out from where they grew up. Many scenes alternate between the two as the focus. The pier setting is only in the show twice, once with Viktor running and once with Mel and her mother walking. Although Mel and Viktor didn’t always get along, by the end of the season they are all together. The scene before the Jinx rocket hits the councilor’s tower, Mel and Viktor look at each other with acceptance. They’re partners as much as Jayce/Viktor and Jayce/Mel.
ANYWAYS it’s not Jayvik vs JayMel. It’s Meljayvik.
Also with the fandom’s treatment of Mel as some sort of evil bitch who manipulated Jayce (which didn’t happen btw but Jayce did manipulate her into voting to kick Heimerdinger), ignoring her entire character arc, and framing her as nothing but a roadblock to the Jayvik ship, I will NEVER be able to ship Jayvik without having Mel in there. She’s an amazing character who deserves love yet some people don’t see it because they’re blinded by unnecessary hate for her.

About the Viktor/Jayce thing: Arcane writers said in interviews that they wanted to create a world where hostility against sexualities doesn't exist, so they wouldn't have to be ashamed to be seen together or hide anything.

I've gotta disagree on Jinx being too much of a free spirit for Ekko, because he's also a very free spirit. He can literally fly with his hoverboard, and his goal is to free Zaun from oppression. In terms of DnD alignment, Jinx may have gone in a more evil/neutral direction and Ekko stayed good, but they're both 100% chaotic for sure

I've heard that. But I've a problem with this hypothesis. Remember that Jinx always outstep everybody. In that scene she has managed to snatch the hextech crystal (the other still think it's in the box). By setting the explosion she fulfilling her mission. If she doesn't Ekko will retrieve the crystal. By killing both, the crystal will be retrieve by Silco who is coming to the scene. And she takes the chance she could survive the blast. She's being Jinx more than ever, not powder.

She could've easily taken advantage of his hesitance because as we see, Jinx always uses the innocent girl act to trick people. Instead, she gave Ekko a sad smile and set off a bomb right beside her own head that he could've, and actually did, jump away from.
Another hole in your idea is that Jinx didn't know Silco was coming. Silco didn't know Vi and Caitlyn had the stone, Jinx hadn't talked to Silco at all that entire time. He didn't even know Jinx was there until he saw her bombs and that's why he went.

I am a huge fan of Jarvik, but I don’t mind having them in a platonic/rival relationship. However, I can’t seem to wrap my head around Mel x Jayce. Keep note, I would’ve accepted this ship even though I like Jayvik. It’s just, the way Mel x Jayce started dating, I didn’t feel any chemistry between them. Hell, they weren’t even friends, Mel acted more like Jayce’s boss/supervisor at the start. So, I was more than surprised when they kissed and did two person push-ups, when their relationship didn’t really have a good foundation. Mel and Jayce are both great characters individually, but together they just feel…eh. But, maybe that’s just me.
I agree. I wish we could have seen more of a romantic relationship grow between them. Just them getting to know each other outside the politics. It could have been really cute, now that I think about it.

I think that was the point. To me it felt like a (slightly) manipulative relationship from the start. Mel was attracted by Jayce's intelligence and physique, and she won Jayce over by guiding his and Viktor's success. She cares about Jayce and she's proven herself compassionate but as a complex character Mel is also manipulative, works to get what she wants and knows she can control Jayce. That was her approach in the beginning until Jayce sought her out to be comforted. She asked why from being genuinely confused as to what Jayce wanted from their relationship and mellows out a bit.

Loving yet often separated by their nature and methods of operation(while actually having a bond/relationship that persists anything the other does that they disagree with). Ekko and Jinx still care about each other; everything within and surrounding their fight illustrated it. She willingly joined in the game he wanted them to reenact and was gleeful while doing so. Before that she blew up the enforcers, which some may see as her attacking them out of confusion over Vi and Caitlin's hug. I see it as retaliation for Marcus shooting and presumably from Jinx's perspective killing Ekko. Prior to this Ekko was projecting onto Vi that Powder is gone, yet he wears a mask whenever he interacted with Jinx prior. Which can be symbolic of him hiding his true nature toward her, even with what became of her, when they interact; a.k.a he never believed his own words. He's just manifested this outer shell, that melted when Vi hugged him(similar to Jinx being what protects Powder and that melting away when Vi hugged her). Also have ya ever noticed how whenever Jinx thought about/saw Ekko it wasn't with the associated distorted sketches and manifestations that appear whenever she remembers Mylo, Vander, Claggor or even Vi(during the boxing contraption scene in ep 5 and when she was revived in ep 8). Even with the difference of Jinx being infused with a variation of shimmer. It suggests there's a sort of clarity to her now. She's fully embracing who she is rather than holding onto what she was, just as Silco did and affirmed with his dying breath. Ekko is the only one shown any hint at accepting her, as she is now. Unwillingness to finish what he started in their face-off, just as Silco wouldn't betray her for his life long mission. Since they'll be on the same side of the war; doubtful Ekko suddenly will join PIltovers side, given he only allowed favor to Caitlin due to Vi vouching for her. It seemed more like Ekko will open the mind of Heimerdinger and he'll become apart of Zaun's efforts. Ekko and Jinx will be inclined to team up and likely be a pairing. We've already seen Vi joined up with Caitlin who both had opposing views that helped further shape each toward greater understanding and clearly a romantic relationship. Given the ever present duality. Ekko can be the relationship to Jinx, what Caitlin is for Vi.

@@gimmeyourrights8292 well I never said they're meant to be carbon copies of my example. Ekko is far more sociable, approachable and outgoing than Batman ever is. Jinx is far more sequestered than Catwoman. Though they both present a front around anyone that isn't those they cares for; ex: confronting Sevika and 'Chuck'. And there's been instances where Catwoman definitely harms someone Batman cares about or is in the midst of trying to save. But he is willing to understand the layers to her actions. Just as Ekko could or already has contemplated given his extensive memorization skill.
I believe that Ekko and Jinx can still be together, after the fight Ekko saw that powder is still there somewhere , I think in the second season they can explore their relationship more

I watched the videoclip of "Enemy" before watching the entire series, and I was like awww cute friends, they look so good together. God, I love friends to enemies to lovers trope. I really hope in future seasons at least show some hints, cause I really don't think Ekko x Jinx would be posible. It's so funny to see this video after season 2
besides the scenes where jayce and viktor are actually interacting, the cinematography very heavily implies at least some sort of romantic interest (more from viktor than jayce, obviously) just based on camera angles and the way scenes are framed.
1) when jayce and mel are having sex and viktor is working on the hexcore. you could interpret this scene as jayce choosing mel over viktor and viktor becoming consumed (literally) by his work (perhaps because of it) but i don't really see that. this is because the focus of mel and jayce's scene is on how mel sweetens up to jayce, but he doesn't have the same interest in her. all the framing is around how mel slowly builds up to the kiss, her moving towards his hand, her kissing him and him being shocked, mel's arm going around jayce's neck (but notice how we never see him doing the same thing), etc etc. the biggest clues to me were him turning his back to her afterwards while she cuddled up to him (implying he's not that interested in her) and him being hesitant about returning the kiss. jayce's isn't stupid. he probably understands that there's something more happening, but he's also a fledgling politician, so he can't exactly articulate what's making him hesitate. if the focus of their sex scene was about jayce beginning to genuinely like mel, there would definitely be more focus on jayce and his scrambling to reconcile his professional and romantic/sexual feelings for her, but all of the focus is on MEL which leads me to believe that this scene was intended to show how mel is using sex and romance to manipulate jayce (i dont think she's entirely NOT interested in him, but she is a medarda and the way her mother comes back and is sort of proved right about the war brewing between zaun and piltover definitely makes it seem like she'll realize her mother has some insight and become more ruthless). when focused on jayce, the entire second and third arc is focused on the politics of piltover and how it intersects with science (the first arc touches on this, but its definitely more pronounced in the later ones), so it makes sense to showcase the subversion of sex as an intimate act into a political one. jayce also started out as work partners with both viktor and mel, but eventually entered a sexual relationship with mel after being forced into politics. this, combined with mel waking up WITHOUT jayce and viktor waking up WITH him, to me, heavily implies at least some sort of romantic/sexual parallel (although of course, since characters are grappling with the pressure of politics, its more likely that its hinting of what could have been if jayce had chosen viktor, as a work partner, over mel). the parallels of their character meetings and interactions (work partner -> caring for them -> sex, at least with mel) definitely at least teases the idea of "what could have been" if politics didnt get in the way of science. good character arcs parallel the themes of the show.
2) during the forge scene, jayce just isn't interested in mel and is actually more concerned about viktor. taking into account what you said about powder and ekko's interactions, we can also use that logic to at least heavily imply that jayce isn't all that interested in mel based on the lack of interest he has for her. again, the focus of this scene is mel's attempted manipulation of jayce as well as his concern for viktor. he doesn't smile, he turns away from her, he brings up viktor instead of anything mel is actually concerned about (although he does bring up caitlyn, to a lesser extent, his concern is for viktor FIRST), and he doesnt smile when mel makes a sexual innuendo. he just seems disinterested with mel. while you could make the argument "hes under a lot of stress right now, thats why he's at the forge!" why does he care about viktor first? as a politician and because he wants to do right so badly, he should be focused on the people and the tense relationship with zaun caused by his blockades. instead, he's worried about his partner.
3) look at the way jayce and viktor look at each other! this one is more subjective, so bear with me, but the way jayce and viktor share little smiles and jayce is very comfortable being physically intimate with viktor like putting his arm around him (as compared to mel, there's one scene where he lays on her lap but this was less "im into you" and more "i need comfort" to me. again, subjective on my part). the small giggles and viktor staring at jayce once they figure out how the resonance stablizes the unrefined hexgem definitely screams more than adoration (think of when you have a crush, you laugh at all their jokes and look to them for approval when you do). jayce stands up for viktor when heimerdinger brushes off his need for lifesaving tech (both as a means to help other people and also save his own life). in all honesty, their chemistry (haha science pun) is a lot more interesting and fun to watch. while i understand that mel and jayce have entered a sexual relationship, i just dont see the attraction from jayce. sure, there might be some, but i don't see the caring or need that he has with viktor (think him rushing over to his bedside, constantly talking about viktor, etc). comparing the 2, mel and jayce may bave a sexual aspect to their relationship but jayce and viktor have intimacy. you can definitely see this as platonic or romantic (they're definitely more than just professional work partners though), but the parallels between the relationships i went over in the first part of this heavily implies at least some sort of romantic/sexual aspect. this part is more subjective, but i still think bears at least a little weight because art IS subjective and theres always an interaction between the watcher and the author/piece of media on how it could be interpreted.
riot may not be good at giving us explicit lgbtq+ representation, but damn are they good at hinting at it, historically speaking. this also doesn't get into the nature of queerbaiting, but i like to give the benefit of the doubt, especially with how good arcane is.
tl;dr while not canon, i personally believe jayce and viktor have some sort of attraction to each other. mel's manipulation of jayce into a sexual relationship (though not without its roots in actual attraction) and his disinterest in her are contrasted and paralleled by his care and affection for viktor at least heavily imply attraction between them.

Leona and Diana were canonically a couple when they were younger. I'm not sure if they still are. But Riot released a piece a few months ago called "Rise with Me" in Leona's universe lore and the ending clearly indicates the love that the two share

TL;DR Jayce and Viktor become enemies later on to the extent that Jayce becomes self-centred, not crediting Viktor for his scientific advancements, Jayce and Viktor clash over how ethical Viktor's research is and Jayce destroys Viktor's lab while Viktor is trying to save the lives of Zaunites which results in their deaths (however their quality of life should they have survived is questionable).

I always read these two scenes as
1: ekko is trying to scare powder by grabbing her leg. She is sitting ontop of the cage of a crab creature who Mylo is poking (making it upset). Ekko was pretending to be the creature as a joke. So powder being freaked out is a part of their playful interaction.
2: right before it cuts away to powder laughing at the memory of ekko falling you can actually see her facial expression change to concern and she begins to do the movements of sitting up.
So I wouldn't say its a stretch to think the feelings of crushing were mutal.
I feel better that I'm not the only one who ships jinx and ekko.
Maybe it's cause they're both my favourite charectors.

Regarding Jayce and Viktor, homophobia isn't a common thing in LoL lore and I don't really see Arcane changing that -- they have no incentive to do so.
No, I don't see anything between the science bros. That "not in front of them" line was because Viktor 1) knew he was dying and didn't want all of Piltiver to know; and 2) probably feels a little ashamed about his undercity origins and feels like the people if Piltover wouldn't accept him.

The groundwork hasn't been set and the divide between him and Jayce isn't wide enough for that backstory to happen. Cyborg Viktor will almost definitely happen, but "remove all human weakness with machines" is too drastic a shift in character.
I want the final nail on the coffin for viktor going full mecha is he saw jayce kissing/having sex with mel. 😆

Personally i think that people read a bit too much into every interaction and like to make relationships have a romantic or sexual aspect to it as if that's the only thing that drives emotions and creats bonds between people.
Ecco not wanting to hurt jinx for example doesn't need to have a romantic reason. Seeing in her the scared face of the innocent child who once was a friend is enough and children at that age usually don't like each other romantically anyway. Ironically as an aromatic asexual person i find that i can differentiate better between what is romantic and what isn't.

Gosh what you said is exactly what i wanna say! I can only see ekko and jinx as childhood friends, nothing more. Yeah let say ekko might have a crush on jinx when they were young, but in that age the definition of "love" is unclear as hell, plus for now he just cannot forgive her that easily for all the horrible things she has done, otherwise it just does not make sense at all. And of course on jinx's side, she sees ekko nothing more than a childhood friend. (I think it is really obvious that jinx does not have any romantic feelings for ekko or anyone else but people just wanna make things up, like imagine you have a best friend who is on the opposite gender and people start telling you that you in love with him/her, it is weird tho. People need to remember that "love" is from both sides and should not be judged by a few voicelines/interactions, it takes a lot more than that tho.)

More than anything in the bridge scene, jinx was like and still is family to him, you even see it in the wall paintings. It’s natural for him to react protective since jinx at lowest is still like a sister to him even if he doesn’t admit it. He can’t hurt family like that.

I simply LOVE the Ekko x Jinx dynamic, even more considering their shenanigans and abilities, i could totes see everyday Jinx messing something up and then Ekko rewinding time to prevent it, or help her out, it's like whenever they're together they never fail! Jinx is brilliant and insanely powerful, she just can't quite tune the dial just right, this pairing makes both of them work at their best, Ekko being assisted by another gifted mind (genius think alike) and Jinx surpassing her 1 flaw (despite a terrible one), with time, he could even help her overcome this condition, as long as he's there for her, she can persevere, this could give her the self esteem bump she just needs and maybe help her get a bit better...

with jayce and viktor i reallllly wanted them to end up together at first. especially during that first night when viktor broke jayce into the lab to test their new theory. but seeing how they interacted after the time skip, i actually started disliking jayce enough to the point that i didn’t want it to happen anymore. he’s kinda arrogant, and let’s himself be put in the spotlight for hextech when none of it would’ve seen the light of day if it weren’t for viktor and his theories, recklessness, and contributions. he just lets viktor be pushed to the side and takes all the glory for himself. not exactly the best material for a ship in my opinion. a bit of a lack of mutual respect. viktor respects jayce, but does jayce respect viktor? only as an assistant, which viktor expressed was never what he wanted. jayce had the right initial idea for hextech, but viktor seems to be a bit more of the brains behind it.

To be honest, I can never see a Viktor and Jayce romantic relationship. The reason to this is because I feel like they're building up the actual lore in league... which if you know the relationship between Viktor and Jayce... then you'll know they won't be friends for much longer. Like, they definitely changed some things but they'll eventually become enemies. You don't even need to know the actual lore to figure that out
They obviously change and grow out in different directions but there's no harm in having a headcanon of a romantic relationship there before all of that happens.
