  • Video contains detailed look on the process of making an epoxy resin inlaid sign.
In this video I walk through the process I use to make a epoxy inlaid sign. I start from a raw 4/4 walnut board, go through glue up, the cnc process and finally the epoxy and completion.
I really enjoy using Total Boat epoxy to do inlays for many different uses. Sports teams logos, custom designs and a big one is wedding signs. The white epoxy pops against the walnut background. I have really been enjoying my process and wanted to share it with you. I will first cut things to rough size and glue up a panel big enough for the cnc. Once it is cut on the CNC I will show you how I prep the board with Total Boat Penetrating Epoxy and then fill with Total Boat 2:1 Epoxy Resin. Once the resin is cured I will walk through my finishing process and putting a keyhole on the back for easy flush to the wall hanging.

Thanks for this video. I’m having a lot of trouble with making my first signs with my cnc. I’m struggling with fonts that are too wide, so the v bit plunges too deep. Are you able to tell me what font you used, or maybe give me some tips about how to write large without it getting too wide as well please?

That looks amazing dude, great work!!! The syringe is a good idea too. Totally makes sense. 👍
Hey, what kind of miter saw do you have there? Thanks.

Cheers the syringes make it super easy! It’s a Hitachi 12” sliding

@@GetOffTheCouchDesign How are you liking that saw? Do you know if can cut the same size material as the Dewalt slider?
Does it have the same power?
I'm really curious to know how it stacks up to the Dewalt.

@@JoeLazzara I really like it. I’m not sure how it compares to the Dewalt depending on model I’m sure they are comparable. I went with this model for the zero clearance

@@GetOffTheCouchDesign Yeah, thats why I want it too.
I'll check and compare the specs.
      Thanks again.

How much would you charge for a sign like this?

C&C is cheating. I say that because I wish I had one.
