    She is absolutely correct. The physical structure and grounds are beautiful. Recruit new ma agement and either ensure that employeesare adequately trained for the various positions and beefup communication between the various depts. Start with the front desk as well as, the turn around time toanswer phone calls

    We have stayed at the Sandals in Grenada twice and are going back next month. None of the issues you had at the Royalton. The included scuba diving is amazing.

    Hi I realize your vacation was a year ago however I enjoyed reading it. I also had numerous issues with Royalton Grenada, I personally love the Island as we usually go to Sandals Grenada and have Butler Service. This was my first Royalton stay mainly because they had such nice reviews. I hated the butler service because the first day we checked in we had no butler, we were told they went home. Second day no butler we were told the person never came in. I was extremely annoyed over this. Next prior to going on vacation I purchased a beautiful bright yellow blouse. I wore it and got a stain on it so I sent it to laundry well when I got it back it was green!! I had tears of anger in my eyes. Nobody knew what happened to it. I've done laundry before so I'm assuming they mixed it with something blue to turn it green. Again I spoke to each manager there and no one knew what happened, to top it off the laundry dept got upset with me I spoke to a lady who was extremely aggressive. At checkout I mentioned it again because they were doing our bill the laundry came up along with our lobster tail which this upset me also. They are supposed to be all inclusive however we were there celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary so we wanted lobster which was in season there. They said we had to pay 50.00 for it, the manager bought a receipt book to our room and we had to sign it before they prepared the meal of which was dry tasteless and horrible!! I turned to my husband and said I thought they were all inclusive?? We've been to Sandals Grenada at least 6 times and everything was all inclusive including the lobster shrimp steak everything and we didn't have to sign a receipt book first.. We stayed in the presidential diamond club suite. We were told it comes with robe and slippers but when we checked in they had no slippers had I known I could of brought my own as I'm diabetic and I do not want to walk bare footed on the floor. Manager told us there items were sitting on a ship and they couldn't get it in the port..I asked for decaffeinated coffee because I suffer from heart issues again we were told they're having issues getting it to port. All of the managers were new there no more than 2 months. We were told this info after we checked out. They had guest being improper in the pool in front of other guest and they never said anything to them. I even pointed it out to them when I saw a women humping on top of a man in the same pool we all were in. Then there was a lady tremendously drunk and got in a fight with her husband she began to curse out everybody she walked across the bushes over to the 3rd swim up bed and laid on it while cursing everyone else out. I became afraid and wanted to check out when we brought it to their attention the manager did nothing just said oh sometimes some of the guest indulge to much. I'm saying that's your response what about the safety of your guest? The food was horrible my husband wanted an omelet for breakfast they had no ham and no tomatoes and it was totally burned on the bottom of it. Dinner wasn't much better. The entertainment at night was nice. We stayed there for a week then we checked out and went over to sandals for a week. Oh what a difference. We got everything we asked for.. I agree with you that I don't understand how Marriott can call this a 5star resort in my opinion I would say 3star.. I could say so much more but I'm tired of typing. Maybe I'll do a UA-cam review also.

      We have stayed at a few Sandals and have not been disappointed thus far. We are also Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite members but we have never stayed at a Marriott all inclusive. I was looking at Sandals and the Royalton. Thank you for this post as I was going back and forth since we have points/resort credit to use at both. I think we will stick w/Sandals even though it is literally double the price. Diving is included at Sandals which is one of the things that first attracted us to Sandals.

    You are speaking on behalf of many guests. A wedding that was planned for a year was a fiasco. The team assigned by the hotel's powers that be to plan the wedding lack any type of training. Horrible. Lack of managerial training skills and organization
    We encountered so many problems. The Tourism Sector should look into this resort. Identifications were requested and you were required to complete a form. Communication amongst the staff about your needs was a blank stare. Veryfew staff knew about wedding. Decorations provided were in poor taste. OH the security ran after the guests to remove the arm bands. Apparently, we were supposed to stop at the front desk to have the armbands removed however, guests were not informed. On a scale of 1 to 10 it is 2

    Thank you for your honest review of your experience. At first I thought this would be another privileged spoiled influencer not getting their way type of review and for the most part, it is! However if you paid supplemental fees for an upgraded experience I believe you are fully entitled to the service level you paid for. Hopefully Royalton Grenada has learned from your experience and does it better now.

    A true traveler visits a new land with the mindset of learning and understanding the culture. You went there expecting them to recreate your American culture in their own land..... I don't want to call you names....but this video is a poster-child example of white privilege. You paid a lot of money so you believe that makes people required to smile at you when you're walking by....I've travelled all over the Caribbean...there is one particular country where i vehemently noticed that the staff didn't smile or greet....so I began engaging in genuine conversations with people on and off the resort.....and I found out why. It was unfortunate, but I learned something deep about the land I was visiting. Your obliviousness in this video saddens me.

    Did you respond to their question in the email if you would like the surprise to be set up before or on the day of??? Although you mentioned it in your intial response, did you confirm? In your screenshot there is no response from you!!
    Sorry your experience was not great but WHYYY do you think that the staff needs to bow to you while you’re walking around the resort & they’re not “allowed” to be on their phone???? You do know they have lives too right!! And unless they are attending to you, serving you or checking you in, they’re not supposed to stop whatever they’re doing & solely focus on YOU while you walk around the resort. That is ABSOLUTELY ABSURD!!! WHO ARE YOU that they should “kow-tow” to you???? They are just there to do their jobs!!!!
    Maybe that’s just your “expectation” because Grenadians are mainly blacks…GIRL BYE!!!!🙄🙄

    • @jetsetsteff
      @jetsetsteff  2 роки тому +2

      Hi! Yes I did confirm. I’m sorry if it came across that way that I expected them to “bow down” to me but that definitely wasn’t my intention. It is my hobby to check out different resorts and state my experience! I am so happy for anyone who had more of a positive experience. I am not trying to put anyone on blast and tried to state my anger in the most diplomatic way possible. Sometimes vacations are hit or miss. Unfortunately for me it was more of a miss. My point was that if it is advertised as being a top of the line 5 star resort then the service is usually not the way I encountered it. If it was advertised any other way then I would probably not have made this video at all! I touched on each issue very lightly and didn’t go very in-depth. However, a lot of issues occurred and they were not handled in the nicest way by the staff. I just didn’t want this video to be anything other than informative. I’m sorry if you didn’t like it! But I highly recommend you visit Grenada ! It’s gorgeous and I wish you have the best experience ever!

      Thank you for clarifying. I completely understand how they dropped the ball & especially for the Diamond club they did not deliver the expected level of service, however your phone comment came off like in your casual “walking arounds” at the hotel you expected them to stop whatever they were doing & smile, cater to, greet you, ask you how you were etc etc & I just thought that is just QUITE THE EXPECTATION. I am planning to go there with my fiance the last week of this month & trying to choose either Royalton or Sandals. I have been doing alotnof research though & planning to explore the nearby city a bit which will add to the experience. Grenada is one if THE SAFEST places in the world & from your other vlog it looks like you guys just stayed at the resort which would mean that the fact that they screwed up with service, a large part of your enjoyment was ruined. Venturing out of the resort would have helped to enrich the experience & maybe help with your overall mood & disapointment about the place.

    Sadly, professionalism is something that majority of Grenadians lack. I moved from London a year and a couple months ago, and the unprofessionalism down here still baffles me till this day. But there are many true to their ratings, hotels down here that you’ll enjoy staying. And yes Sandals is a most visit, you’ll 100% love it there plus you’ll get your moneys worth plus more im sure.
