The fact that you guys can do this yourselves is amazing. It’s such a great life skill to know. My late grandfather’s house is being renovated and I see some of the things that the contractors do and think “I could never do this”. Keep up the great work!
Don’t be so hard on yourself. Ducks don’t have thumbs or index fingers, two things which really help me as a contractor. And they don’t have super supportive wives either.
I REALLY enjoy watching the two of you work together. No fighting. No arguing. Loving commentary and fun working together. And such skills !! Amazing, even when you are just learning a new skill. I am glad I found your channel. Love starting out my Sunday with you. ❤
Save the backyard tour to post in the middle of the winter when we are tired of the snow and grey slush everywhere so we can imagine warmer days coming 😆
The Garage Door is stunning! Salvaging the existing cedar wood and committing to the process inspires the rest of us to use what we have and make it better. Thank you for sharing!!!! Blessings!!
I came here for the DIY Reno progress but stayed for the delightful banter of the lovely married couple. 💕 You are adorable 🥹 and the fur babies too ❤️❤️
The garage door turned out beautiful. What makes the work a little easier while doing it is just think of the big price tag of the new garage doors and think how much money you are saving by just sanding what you already have. You both are doing such a great job. Andrew is a lucky man to have you right there by his side working your way through and not having to do it all himself.
Sabrina going horizontal on the ground after extensive sanding in her hazmat suit… love it! 😂🤣 Well worth the work though on the garage door as it looks incredible… infinitely better than before! 👏🙌 You two continue to knock it out of the park ⚾️ every time! Bravo! 👏🙌👏🙌
Hey guys! You have done an awesome job with this exterior renovation. It is gorgeous! And I love that you are saving the cedar garage doors. There are a few pointers that could help on the next door. It helps to clean the surface first. You don't want to sand on a dirty surface and grind the dirt into the wood. After you sand, address the dark stains. I noticed the darker stains at the bottom of the doors. You can use oxalic acid powder in water. Brush on the whole door, let dry, then rinse off. You can apply this in spots because it would lighten the area in spots and be uneven. After dry from rinse, you can do a finish sanding. Then stain.
Seeing your complicity and boldness to tackle new things together is so inspiring. Love your humor too! You guys are a breeze of fresh air in my weeks. Thank you!!! ❤
😂 I almost spit my coffee out when Sabrina said, "You taught me everything I know . . . yeah, that's why we usually both work in socks and sandals"! You two are like a little old couple with a lifetime of being together. BTW, you are both amazingly talented! I look forward to each episide.
I'm glad you never dropped a hammer on Sabrina's head. She was constantly underneath while you were hammering overhead. You also used a finish sander on a belt-sander project (garage doors).
I am so amazed at how well you two work together, your home is fantastic. You both can be proud of this remodel. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to the next episode. ❤
You guys did a great job on the siding. Andrew did really well on all the metal bending and installing it. Sabrina the garage door looks wonderful. I love watching you guys work together on your projects. On of my favorite UA-cam channels. I look forward to watching your videos each and every week!!❤❤❤❤❤
Just like the rest of this renovation has, the garage door turned out amazing! I applaud your decision to forgo buying new ones and instead, personally putting in the time and effort to give your existing doors new life because it absolutely paid off!
I love watching you every week. Always brightens my day! This was a fun episode. Your banter is so cute, and then the suit while sanding made me crack up. In a good way! Not at you - with you. So fun. Always amazed by your work, and yes, it is especially fun to see a lot of progress made in one episode!! The before/after of the garage door at the end, especially with the plant next to the door, really showed the difference. Great job!
Also, idk if you took all the way around before shots, but it would be cool to see a before and after when Ditching the Split is over! Also, what does your mail person think? 😅
Yes! I do love the longer episodes but also appreciate the effort it takes to edit. I, too got horizontal after every round of sanding on my staircase. *Deeply* felt. 😫 Amazing result! 🥂
The transformation on the Garage Door was amazing. I was thinking the same thing when you started staining. I wasn't sure about it, but after the second coat and it dried, I think it looks awesome.
I’m obsessed! I look forward to when you build a workshop in the backyard and turn the basement into something. I like the idea of an in-laws suite/apartment. When the time comes, if that is what you choose to do, I have a suggestion. Definitely do a hidden bookcase style door from your finished basement to the apartment. The side garage that is parallel to your back porch would be a great spot for the front door and windows. Leave the other garage for the apartment :) I’m so excited to continue to see your progress!
I love that you saved that cedar garage door. It really came out great! The dust extractor was a great suggestion. In my experience it makes the sanding at least twice as efficient and a lot less of a mess. Even if you tape the hose to the sander it will still work well. Also they make foam interface pads for the orbital that make it easier to get the angles if you don’t want to spring for a SurfPrep sander or similar. Great job though!
You are doing such an amazing job your home is looking beautiful ... I look forward to seeing each weeks episode and what you gave achieved ... thank you for sharing 😁
Another great job! Your garage door turned out really well. I was a bit worried after your first coat of stain. However, like always, the finished product is impressive. I'm thinking about 1/2 hr is the perfect amount of time. Also, Andrew does seem more comfortable in front of the camera. It is really fun to watch the two of you grow. Keep up the great work! I love watching.
I was doubting the garage stain, but wow! It looks great! A labor of love is what I call that. Fantastic job! Y'all, I need my house renovated, lol! I love watching the progress, and I always enjoy the videos. Thanks for sharing. Have a beautiful, blessed day! 🙏 "He always pukes on anything nice." 😅
Wow that garage was a trust the process moment! Turned out beautiful!

Thank you so much!!
Really amazing 🤩🤩

❤️❤️
It’s because they have no children 😂😂😂
@@fahnakafranklin8211 they have fur babies! Sometimes those are better than human children.
Save the backyard tour to post in the middle of the winter when we are tired of the snow and grey slush everywhere so we can imagine warmer days coming 😆
And everyone with S.A.D. said...AMEN!
Love this idea!
Great idea!!!
The Garage Door is stunning! Salvaging the existing cedar wood and committing to the process inspires the rest of us to use what we have and make it better. Thank you for sharing!!!! Blessings!!
I was shocked at how beautiful the garage door turned out. I was holding my breath there for a second, but no need to. Just lovely!
“I’m pretty proud of myself” “you should be” so sweet 🥲
SO sweet. I love them together! Such a great couple.
I've been struggling to quantify your cute vibe and "wholesome sarcasm" is the best I can come up with. I'm really glad I found your channel.

I love watching all the hard work being done. I also enjoy the love you have for your fur babes.❤
That garage door is so beautiful. I am sure a “replace with same” would be crazy expensive or not the same quality. Turned great.
I forgot it was sunday, good thing this video could remind me of the day 😂
I love how the garage door turned out-you did a nice job! The house is looking great! Love from Minnesota!
Thank you Libby! ❤️
Love the progress!! I would put the lounge chairs on the lower level by the pool, personally - just depends on how you think you’ll use them though!
Loved the video!
Siding is beautiful and Garage door is fantastic.
So much work but so worth it!
