It's annoying to see how many comments here reflect a lack of simple understanding or acceptance of the annotated facts in this piece. With very little gibberish, Faldo's points are spot on.
Ken Lines I disagree. It's partly all in the mind. Apart from obeying the obvious parameters, a fairway wood is just another club. Confidence is also key. But then confidence has always been an intangible asset.
agreed...coaching is a different art...I mean that advice could be a nightmare for most of us...what these guys feel is their interpretation of what they think they are doing....a lot of room for misinterpretation...yr better off just visualising yr favourite player and swinging care free on practice tee...more chance of finding a slot:-)))
This is a refreshingly simple demo of how to hit a 3 wood,.

Thank you sir, the best tip yet for hitting my 3 wood.
“that was a peach hun”
Won majors 6 times, my brain can’t process him topping the ball like that.
Only Nick Faldo can hit a top-shot on purpose
He is so good!!!!!!!!!
Top shot at beginning was perfect lol
Firing the right shoulder or even thinking about the right shoulder can make it come over the top.
Now that was a peach hun haha
He embedded it in the ground beforehand to do that
He went to my school.
"It's as easy as that" until you look up and see the ball forty yards left or right from your target. Fairway woods can be nasty.

I watched most of the fairway videos, no good. Using utility iron now.

he pissed in my pool
pros shouldnt try to teach its almost always a mess
I don't know. I have a book by Faldo, and it is actually one of the instructional books I go back to frequently.
Gatsby O'Connor which book is that? I always go back to his preset drill when my swing gets out of whack.
