The fans wouldn't have reacted the way they did if the match it self weren't so damn good. This is finally the Kenny from Japan that we heard so much about. It took DBry to bring the fighter out of Kenny & holy crap it was a great match.

He had vertigo since 2018, a sports hernia, knee injuries, shoulders so hurt he couldn't even lift his arms over his head, and he still put on a Dream Match.

It was such an incredible AEW debut match for Bryan Danielson. Him and Omega delivered big time.
Who would have thought at the beginning of aew as a company they would have 20k people in new York with the opening match being omega vs Danielson.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the referees in AEW? Its such a small detail but seeing the ref sell the moves with their reactions just make it that much more impactful.
And the fact they aren’t stupid.

This match felt like an ode to his RoH days. He took sick bumps, he delivered the cattle mutilation and he went all the way to a time limit draw. I just hope he won't get seriously injured, because we all want to see him for a few more years.

i cannot remember ever being presented a no-stip singles match that ran an entire actual time limit in my life, and strangely enough, it is very soothing. Danielson looks better than before, love the product so far, no need to wish AEW good luck, they got this in the bag.

What a night. Got tickets to the event and experienced it live with my 13 yr.old son, which was the best part of it all.
That's a brilliant way to set up a rematch at a ppv. The time limit draw? I love it. No one was screwed over, nothing felt cheap about it like a DQ. It's not a rematch, just a continuation of an unfinished fight. Good on you AEW. That's how you build up a big title match.

It's not everyday you get a 5 star worthy match that ended in a draw. No interference, no cheap ending, great intensity throughout. I smell an incredible trilogy between these two heading our way.

That time limit has to be one of the smartest ideas in modern wrestling, you get to protect both wrestlers and the match quality, it doesn't always have to end with run ins or random chair shot by the champion that always disappoints people

I agree , I was ok with the draw and kind of expected it. Glad it wasnt the main event which would have made the finish more obvious. These two may deliver a series on par with Kenny's clashes with okada. Great stuff.

NON WRESTLING FANS DONT UNDERSTAND WHEN YOU SAY DREAM MATCH IM A KID AGAIN FINALLY
JR often mentions wrestlers 'telling a great story with their eyes' and both did a great job of this here. BD was determined and Kenny went back and forth between cocky and concerned. Also, saw some good facial expressions during Brit/Ruby.
Agreed dude. Britt has such great faces. Haven't known Ruby long enough to study her face to well. Also I'm really glad Kenny acknowledged his arm being in pain during the match. It's such a small detail but when all of BD's early offense is on that arm, you want to see Kenny favoring it 15 minutes later.
Britt is female version of Aj Styles imo, She knows what is she exactly doing and does everything so effortlessly.
Bryan definitely is good with storytelling and ring psychology but can't say same about Kenny. And At this point JR is just doing his job. I have seen him over appreciating talents in AEW that are nowhere good as he says but I understand he wants to keep his job. But I wouldn't mind them replacing him with rather an energetic person on the commentary now.

The last time I watched pro wrestling was at the end of the Ruthless Aggression era. Since then, I watched MMA. AEW matches like this made me come back to being a wrestling fan.
What programs do you watch for MMA? I tried getting into UFC and found it incredibly boring overall. A few guys were good, but the rules are way too restrictive. The matches usually devolve into aggressive hugging.

I honestly agree the "Draw" ending was a smart way to do it and since AEW doesnt do it often it doesnt cheapen the moment. That ending keeps people invested and want to see a rematch

Honestly i prefer the "time limit draw" finish than the "some dude runs in and cause a dq" finish

The crowd made the ambient perfect, made the event made the match the crowd was perfection it was so loud, so much roar it was really special, the fans being into every single detail and being loud about everything makes the show

AEW is the best place for wrestling since WCW
Match of the year for me.
Glad AEW gets psychology and story telling. The only right move to make is a time draw, and I'm so happy they did it. It means that doing this match right away wasn't a waste, and fans can look forward to Danielson Omega 2 at a PPV and have all the hype it needs.

Man that fine detail when the time limit bell sounded and they kept hitting each other was amazing. Perfect storytelling and: "Oh no!, we didn't have a definitive answer about who is the best wrestler! Now we will need to do it all over again!" YES PLEASEEE

So glad people aren't mad that this ended in a draw. It was the best possible decision for storytelling reasons. These two had a classic and there was no pin/submission. Shows how great these guys are.
It was a classic of two of the best wrestlers to have ever done it. It being a draw protects Omega, but also keeps Brian at the same level as the champion. The story has portrayed them as equal for now and when they come to blows next time I certainly believe that it'll truly be for the gold and will be a monumental event. A Meltzer 7 star match at the least!
I was there for this. The crowd and match were both crazy. Can't wait to see it again sometime down the road.
Just watching my first Omega matches and, OMG. Of course I've heard of him, but watching him wrestling is just incredible. Also Brian Danielson as good as always. What an incredible match.

Think about it, the Omega vs Bryan D match. Thats the best way to not kill anyone's momentum! They went straight at it for 30 mins. They have to start it slowly, like in a real fight. It cant be a spotfest right away. It might one of the best technical 30 mins match. This is what qualifies as a 4-5 star match. 1 on 1
