When Omega returns, the pop is gonna be legendary. Can't wait for him to be back.
Picture this, it’s Forbidden Door, the main event, Okada is in it repping New Japan, it’s either Hangman or Punk repping AEW. Match is over, both competitors give a hand salute Ring of Honor style, crowd is clapping the gesture, either Battle Cry or Devil’s Sky plays, crowd goes absolutely nuts seeing the Goat back
@@joeyramirez.308 Seriously i can't wait for Kenny to come back!
The biggest pop Omega has received was when he beat Okada at Dominion 6.9. I wonder if he'll get over that when he comes back. I hope so, without a doubt Kenny deserves the recognition of the fans.
Everyones talking about CM Punk and MJF, if MJF becomes champion I want Kenny to insert himself into that feud and destroy them both, he’s the greatest wrestler since Flair and Bret Hart imo, theres a reason every wrestler wants to wrestle him and talks about him constantly. AEW should book him like Super Cena but with actual good matches lol. Bit of mic training and an acting class he could end up being the greatest wrestler of all time.
Honestly I just wanna hear Justin Roberts yell NOOOOOOOORTH CA RO LI NA again
I can very much respect JR for adding “it’s Wednesday, you know what that means” to his welcoming kick off

Danielson looked like he was to cry during his entrance. And Kenny is such a good bad guy. The way he was sneering at the crowd. He was uncaring and ice cold. And the crowd let him have it. Which was awesome.

@@chasevaughn2094 agreed
It was the ONLY decision. So many people predicted it would happen, but AEW are smart enough to know that sometimes the obvious decision is obvious because it's CORRECT, and swerving people just for the sake of surprising them is Russo-level stupidity. Either man _could_ have won, but it would have been an inferior result to what they did.
Clearly neither can be beaten in under 30 minutes. Not at this level.

Was a bit tame, need it to be a clear loud explosion of noise.
I was there and I may or may not have started the chant.
What a crowd, what a night!
Kenny Omega vs. Bryan Danielson was an excellent professional wrestling classic! Failed to produce a result but told a story. Told the story of The American Dragon. I am sure he'll get another chance down the line. If only some more minutes were there, then I am inclined to believe that Danielson would have tied up Omega in knots before tapping him out!
But bro I like this method.they don't screwed daniel and kenny by loosing thier match.because they set one good ppv show in this storyline.
Crazy. The "story" is that these 2 are the best of the best. True top guys can't be worn down in under 30 minutes. It's a build up of expectations. Each match in the fued will be longer and better until 1 barely gets the win. Thats the penultimate route to showcasing 2 wrestling machines. This was just the first glimpse and had to be a time limit draw.
If it were 2 bruisers they coulda done the double dq or double count out cuz the 2 both lost sight of the match cuz they were focused on the fight. But 2 wrestling machines... only option IF they have a feud planned.
Fake.
It leaves everybody wanting more. I mean, if I was running a wrestling promotion I --probably-- would've done the same thing. This feud is only in first gear ;)
This sets up a no time limit match down the road
There is something about the wrestlers letting the people go crazy before they even make the first move that is great, it really boosted the atmosphere for this match 🔥🔥
Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega knew this was a special treat to deliver for pro-wrestling fans who attended and watched AEW GRAND SLAM. Wonderful start to finish show.
Fake.
I'm a diehard tennis fan so I'm very familiar with AA Stadium. It makes me so happy to see other events hosted there. And in true NY fashion the fans rocked it out! The roar of a crowd never gets old!
This might have been one of the greatest televised wrestling shows I've ever seen
Every match was incredible, you could tell everyone was motivated to try to outperform everyone else, or at least step up their games to another level
And this opener was unbelievable, the crowd was CRAZY
Fake.
@@ihatefakefighting6698 You know, one thing you could do, for example, that would be more productive, is try and understand why people like wrestling, and why it being "fake" doesn't bother them.
It's not a sport, it hasn't been for about a century, it's roots can be traced as far back as the turn of the 20th century in the carnivals in England, and Europes long tradition with folk wrestling, which goes back to the time of the romans, possible even further. Most of the knightly fighting manuals written during the medieval and renaissance period have a section on unarmed catch wrestling.
Anyway, professional wrestling as it exists today is more like live theater, performance art built into the frame narrative of a fictional sport called "professional wrestling" with the presentation of that narrative made to resemble the presentation of other modern combat sports like MMA and Boxing. The story is just told in the ring through action.
When you look at it from that perspective, it's only as fake as any other TV show or movie. The fight sequences in The Borne Movies or John Wick or any other action movie are pre-chorigraphed too.
Hopefully this gives you a little bit of perspective.
Finally! Competition really helps the industry. It has really been far too long. Thanks again AEW!
@@knightshousegames But movies and theatre don't pretend that it's real outside of it.
@@ihatefakefighting6698 That is for the immersion factor. It's a collective suspension of disbelief. In a way, it makes the story more compelling, especially when executed well. It blurs the line between what we know is real and what is just part of the storyline. In a way it's what makes wrestling unique as a storytelling medium. It's like the highest level of method acting.
The original "War Of The Worlds" radio drama from 1938 was presented within the frame narrative of a real news broadcast. It was so immersive that some people thought Martians were really attacking Earth. By comparison, a fake sport based on a real sport seems like a much smaller logical jump, making being immersed in it much easier, which is why people actually did think it was real for so long. These days it's more like an unspoken contract with the audience, the promotions present their product as real, and we as viewers (ideally) immerse ourselves in the presentation.
That is sort of part of how you judge the "quality" of a match. One of the main factors is how "convincing" the match itself is, how believable the physicality of the match is. Some of the more physical styles in Japan are nearly impossible to distinguish from real fighting because of how physical the matches are. The other main factor is the story being told with those moves, what is called "ring psychology", the logic of the course of events taking place.
An example of this would be from tonight's opener, Bryan Danielson's finishing move is a submission hold that targets the shoulder, so he spent the early parts of the match using moves that targeted Kenny Omega's arm, in the hope of wearing it down so when he could apply the move, it would be more effective. That is ring psychology, it's what drives the story along in the ring, so they can basically tell a story without words, with the commentators serving to interpret those actions and give context to them.
When you understand it that way, it makes it much more interesting to watch and analyze.
Being there in person and not knowing nothing about AEW. The atmosphere took me back to the ECW days when the fans would make you deaf. Unbelievable energy that night at the Ashe. Salute
Nothing will ever compare to OG ECW. That chant will fill arenas forever. EC- DUB! EC- DUB!
