Familiar with the topic but commenting for the algorithm. Love your work and commentary, always appreciate your fantastic phrasing and sensibility. Cheers
Thanks so much for the kind words. Can I ask you, what topic do you think would be a good idea to teach about / explore? I get caught between trying to reach a beginner audience and doing things that are more interesting for intermediate and advanced players.
@@isaaceichermandolin You're very welcome. I'm a jazz guitar player and teacher, so for me I'm largely here to just hear you play and get your take on things as a fellow educator. I watch just about everything of yours irrespective of if it's relevant to me skill-wise. I would say you have a good spread honestly. For me personally I'd love to hear you dissect your own improvisations after the fact (Bluegrass or Jazz), and perhaps to go into covering in broader terms the "standards" of bluegrass and Irish/Celtic as those styles are something I've only recently gotten into (listening and playing), what are the "must haves", the Autumn Leaves/Rhythm Changes of those worlds if you will. For beginners/intermediates I think anything you could think to cover, regardless of if it'd been done to death by other channels would still be a boon to a novice on account of your perspective and way of approach. You're undoubtedly the most educated and one of the most technically proficient mandolinist doing content of any kind for the instrument on UA-cam, so it's all valuable stuff in the end.
Thank you man. Haha! It does kind of sound like that… but really I ordered this mando in 2019 and was just wanting a more modest esthetic, something to take to different settings where I didn’t feel like I was carrying around one of the most expensive modern mandos like my Heiden. And the Voight is a pro level instrument, but it has a different vibe that’s refreshing.
@@isaaceichermandolin Gotcha yeah no that makes sense. I didn't really think that's what you meant, I just thought it sounded funny. And I can emphasize with your unintended meaning! Sometimes I'll tell myself just about anything to justify buying an instrument haha
one of the most talented mando players out there imo

@@FlaxeMusic wow! Again, thanks. Hearing feedback like this really inspires me to keep doing video… I will do one about standard fiddle tunes!
bro not changing strings as an excuse to buy a 5k mandolin is hilarious

Cool, though I do think its been a looong time since you watched a beginner on the mando..😀
And then there's some in-between chromatic notes to spice up the harmonic palette a bit.
For sure… I think that’s the topic of another video! The “to be continued”
