I’m moving to downtown St. Paul, from the mountains of NEGA, in October.
And I chose St. Paul because it has an edge MLPS doesn’t: attainable; manageable; realistic, room for improvement.
I’m so excited about my purchase I’m about to piss myself, because it’s everything I’ve ever wanted.
I’m looking forward to a pedestrian lifestyle, as I did once in Boston, w the new light rail that will be at the next block over.
    So, I’m stoked!
    Can’t wait!

I miss living in St. Paul. I moved there back in 88' when I was only two years old. Moved away in 1994. But I still remember everything about it and it was what shaped me into the person I am today. Furthermore, Downtown St. Paul has somewhat of a Seattle/Portland look to it. Downtown Minneapolis has more of a Chicago look and feel. SKOL

How many former St Paul MN residents come to this video just to be reminded of their former home. XD I grew up in Hayden Heights area as a kid - and Somehow you just can't shake where you grew up.

Saint Paul doesn't have all the skyscrapers of Minneapolis, but it most certainly has its charms :)

Eighties downtown St Paul was great. It had a lot of great stores similar to Nicolette Mall.

Your videos are a lot of fun and very informative Jesse. I moved to St. Paul in February from Appleton WI, and I'm absolutely in love with the area. Keep doing what you do man. It's appreciated!

@@ToTheTwinCities I rent an apartment just above The Palace, but I never use it. I live with my girlfriend in Roseville:) I’m a big fan of the Ramsey and Cathedral Hill neighborhoods. We spent a lot there before the Covid thing started. A Ramsey Hill tour would be cool if you’ve not yet done one.

I know you mentioned Saint Paul is more “business” oriented and therefore places close earlier. I agree, but would add that Saint Paul is “government” oriented as well; capital, court house, ect. Whereas Minneapolis has a lot of firms/businesses; therefore cater more toward the business/social side of things and are open later.

    • @stefandomeier1911

Oh, and Saint Paul has a lot of churches and social services which isn’t exactly conducive to night life. Those are my 2 cents! :) again - great content!

Hey Jesse!! Crazy how I just so happened to stumble across this! I was looking up different views for the St Paul Skyline, scrolled down a little, this caught my eye, hit play, and "hey! That's Jesse!!" I watched a few more of your videos and they're all really informative, they have pretty good info on the cities that is important to know if you are looking to move. As you're talking, I catch myself nodding and agreeing about the differences between St Paul and Minneapolis whether it be about the bikes, the maps, or the night life. Keep up the good work! The kids&I will be looking forward to seeing your future videos. :D

Hi Jesse, thanks for this virtual tour. I want to take a road trip to the twin cities (I live in the Southwest). Do you have any tips on visiting during the winter? I have lived in cold climate before so I know the drill regarding winter tires and warm clothing.
I guess my main question would be -- Do you think it would still be possible to get a feel of the city even though it is winter, and many places are closed due to Coronavirus? I would normally just wait until the pandemic is over but I am in a unique situation to be able to travel because I am working remotely. Would love to hear your thoughts!

    • @ToTheTwinCities
      @ToTheTwinCities  3 роки тому +3

Hey! I think you can definitely get a feel for the twin cities the winter, but with coronavirus stacked on top of colder weather it’ll definitely feel sleepier and you might get the impression that there’s never traffics which there definitely is here. But I believe restaurants are open in limited capacity now and all retail is as well, so while you’ll see a dialed back version of the area, I think it’ll be worth it!
And if you like it in the winter, you’ll love it in the warmer months!
