I'm gonna see 5 years from now when this channel becomes a huge one and on a slow news day, a news site takes this video and goes, "Popular book reviewer endangers kids' lives. How? Read on to find out."
Studio Ghibli maximises the capabilities of the 2nd Dimension. Daniel Greene maximises the capabilities of the Greene Screen. The editing efforts you put in is so much more than other booktubers, keep going man.
This is so weird. I was just about to buy the book on amazon and i checked to see if Daniel had done a before you read on this series. The moment i look this video pops up. Thank you oh Daniel for answering my prayers
Dan, you had the perfect opportunity to put a generic blood splatter effect over that sawing.. but you didn't do it. Needless to say, I'm disappointed.

WoW! So his channel really has reached it's goals, and that's fantastic! (Not ironic, I mean it) Getting People to read is so important to this world, as a whole. Good travels to you! 🎋🌙
I loved this book so much for basically all the reasons Daniel states. I immediately bought the book for my classic-rock loving mother (who still goes to concerts on a yearly basis) a few years ago and she devoured it. One of her new favorites. As Daniel says, this book works for everyone.
I picked up this book after seeing your review on Kings of the Wyld, and omg I’m in love. I loved it so so much and it made me cry and laugh so much! Even Bloody Rose just left me in tears!

I feel, although I don't want particularly associate Daniel with books per se, but with Fantasy definitely, and particularly WoT, like I see that title, and green screen Daniel just pops up in my mind.
Just finished Kings of the Wyld and I gotta say that when the story speaks to me the most, it really reminds me of David Gemmells Drenai saga books. Gemmell fought ageism before it was cool, no young farmboys in Drenai. I have never seen you mention Gemmell but I would strongly recommend the action packed Legend by Gemmell. The first (publishing order) book in his Drenai saga. Old men, wise with experience trying to defend a legendary fortress that cannot be allowed to fall. Legend - David Gemmell
That picture at 7:50. I love it. I love it so much. Also, Kings of the Wyld slammed it's way straight into my all-time top 5, and it's probably staying there. I cannot recommend this book enough, and I am in the process of infecting -everyone- I know with it. And I actually love how the 'lore' of the world is... well 'hey, fantasy + this specific backstory'. It's so easy to follow
I was literally just re-watching you Nicholas Eames interview, showered, and then saw you post this. The Band was on my TBR, but I was waiting until it’s finished, but the universe seems to be trying to tell me to get on it now.
I just read the book over the last few days. I loved it. I laughed harder then I ever had while reading a fantasy. I cried when I didn't expect I would. Plus, I was excited to see something fresh and fast paced. I can't wait to read Bloody Rose now. I owe my introduction to Mr. Eames' writing to you. I can't thank you enough for the introduction!
This is one of my favorite reads the last couple years.. I recommend this book to anyone whose been in a reading slump and is looking for something to get you out.. I loved every aspect of the story.
I just started reading Kings of the Wyld because of your review. I'm only 30 pages in and you released this video as I'm about to do my second sit down with it. I'm already noticing how different this story is going to be. It just seems so real and genuine, I have a feeling I'm going to love this story.
Thank you so much for shedding light on this book. I had never heard of it until I saw your review last year. This and Bloody Rose are both amazing reads. Epic, hilarious, and heart wrenching. Love the references to the 60's/70's rock bands. I read a lot of fantasy in my late teens/early 20's and within the last few years started getting back into reading more fantasy. As a father of 2 girls at 40, this book resonated with me on a different level than it would have back in the day. Both books made me tear up at their conclusions. Keep up the great work work you do on your channel.
Started this book recently. Best book I've read so far this year... and I've not even finished it yet! I'm looking forward to getting round to the rest of series. It will be really interesting to see what Nicolas Eames comes up with next
I loved the book! I teared up several times. One of the best representations I have ever read of true friendships. The good and bad. The emotional support. The unspoken of love that is so strong and evident between the characters! I am doing one of Daniel's ubiquitous chef kisses. I think it merits it.
I loved this video and am so glad this series is getting the attention it deserves! I cannot wait for book 2. This is a great video for people who are thinking about checking these books out or those who finished the first book and maybe don’t fully understand why this series is so special for lovers of fantasy, d&d, and Rock n Roll! Thank you for making this video, Dan!
I'm between 150 and 200 pages in, and I love it so much. The rock band parallel is fantastic. The D&D elements are extremely welcome, as a frequent player. And as a relatively new father (to a daughter not quite two years old), I was hit way harder by the father-daughter bits at the beginning than I thought I'd be, and I somewhat fear how they'll hit me as a get further. It just has so much heart!
I have been thinking of reading Kings next and have been an avid viewer of your reviews. Love your videos. I don’t know if it was a random choosing of stock video or you actually like them but seeing the band, Rotting Christ, in the background of this video has made me a life long fan of yours now. One of my favorite bands. My friends think I geek out about fantasy books but music is a whole other level for my geekdom. Anyways, thank you for your entertaining and informative content.
330 pages into kings of the wyld, with bloody rose up next, thanks to your review and interview with Nicholas Eames! Seriously, that was one of my favorite interviews you've done and Kings of the Wyld is exactly what I want out of a great fantasy novel. Mercenary adventures, humor/heart in equal measure, and rock music and video game love throughout.
If I had to pick my favorite book (that isn’t part of A Song of Ice and Fire) it would be Kong’s of the Wild. I absolutely loved this book. It’s funny, it’s epic, it’s great.
Read Kings of the Wyld after you did a review on this. I wouldn't have heard of this book otherwise. Honestly one of my favourite reads of the year so far, I couldn't put it down. I can't thank you enough, Daniel!
the thing i love about the books is on the cover theres song names on the first one it was thin lizzys the boys are back in town and the second one was girls just want to have fun
Yesterday I finally finished Oathbringer and had mixed thoughts on it. Came here to see if I can find my next read (though I do have Gunslinger from your recommendations on my shelf unread. I am a bit King'd out right now). This before you read has made me consider this instead of Gwynne's Malice. Not yet sure which way to go.
Currently about to finish oathbringer, and now iam conflicted on what iam going to read next 'jade city' or 'kings of the wyld'.. thank you sir for now making me have to coin flip.
Have you read the works of David Gemmell? Legend is one of my favorite Fantasy books of all time and Druss is still one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. It's a pity that none of his books have been adapted into films/tv but I heard it was one of his last requests before he died of lung cancer that his books NOT be adapted to screen.
I love watching your videos man especially your sales pitches and what to know before, I avoided The Dresden Files forever until I saw your videos, and I’m putting Kings of the Wyld on my TBR as well, I love series that have really fun moments but can also get emotional af. But to be honest, ever since you did that video where you had a small clip with your shirt off I’ve been expecting that in every video you put out, and I feel like we ain’t never gonna get another video with your shirt off 🥺
You nailed it on this review...It is a fantastic read. It is one of those books that you read, enjoy...Put on Bookshelf...Year later...Read and enjoy just as much. Thx for the Vid. Stay safe and Gruß from Germany
Read it when quarantine started based on your original review, and it was one of the funniest books I have ever read. I even got my dad to read it and he hasn't read a book since high school.
I read it recently based on one of your videos. I forget which, best 2-3 days of my life listening to it nonstop. Super great book, loved every second, and that speech at the end? Hell yeah. That shit slaps. Thanks for the recommendation my dude.
Watching that left hand gesture around the new knife brought a level of danger I wasn't ready for, but it really enhanced the chaotic energy I'm here for. Can't wait to pick up this book!
I am just commenting on this bc it’s your newest video. (Which I watched and liked and already added the book on my wishlist) but I was asking for you to do a review of homeland. The legend of Drizzt book 1. I have scoured your videos to see if you’ve done one but I can’t find it. I did find that drizzt is runners up on a character tournament and lost to the ever respectable Rand al Thor. And you also did a look at the character of drizzt but I was just looking for more. It looks like you are well familiar with the series so I don’t think it’d be to hard. Thank you for your material tho. I like it a lot even without homeland being reviewed.
Loved this book. Picked it up last year because the blurb on the back looked interesting and hands down one of the best I've read in a long time. Adventuring parties based on hair metal bands is absolutely my jam. I think what I liked best is that it's a bunch of men who are close friends who all love one another without reservation, and they accept each other for who they are. It avoids a lot of the masculinity bullshit that comes with manly men adventuring that sometimes shows up in fantasy. Nicholas Eames seems to have a talent for depicting that sort of relationship throughout his books.
Bought this book as soon as I watched this video. Started it last night and I'm just devouring it. It's so F'ing good! I've laughed out loud in public with this read several times, great character work, love the world, fantastic humour and did I mention the characters ?! Great recommendation Daniel.
Ooh I'm happy you like the "father daughter" trope. I plan on reading this VERY SOON, and I love that sort of emotional connection. As a guy who wants to have kids later and thinks about his future kids a good bit... idk it just really resonates with me.
And it's a lot of fun for us old heads to pick out all the classic rock references. He named his wizard Moog...fan for life. What's left of it anyway :D :(
Wow that call out for Piera .... I picked this book up and got about 25 % into it and then put it down for 3 months. So far I haven't picked it back up, though I will finish it eventually. For me some of the humour doesn't hit, the pacing is a bit slow and I haven't been fully sucked into the world. However, other aspects of the humour hit really well and so far I do like the story, world and characters.
I've read both books somewhere in summer for god knows why. I don't read fantasy, like at all. Totally not my stuff. But! I've fallen sooo hard for those, especially for the second book! Really something, that even a non-fantasy reader can digest. "Oldies" party is a cool concept :)
The upload kept saying it was missing media but I couldn't find what... Now I am so paranoid!

Daniel trying to saw his arm with a dull knife is a big mood
Since that knife has tasted his flesh, doesn't it get like a +8 enrapture bonus when speaking before an audience? :D
Just so he doesn't trip and fall on it. Then it won't matter how dull it is. It could be a rectangle and still do damage.
I can already see the headlines: Booktuber impales himself on knife after tripping over cat while recording.
Please record responsibly.
Yeah, just because the knife is too dull to cut doesn't mean he can't poke his eye out with it!
-Daniel “just because you’re not in your 20s doesn’t mean you can’t go on adventures”. -me literally about to turn 30 *cries in thank you*

Have you read Legend by David Gemmel? Kinda the same premise Druss 60 outclassing everyone so much younger than himself.
Can you do one on 'The Poppy War' lore/history?
I've read both books somewhere in summer for god knows why. I don't read fantasy, like at all. Totally not my stuff. But! I've fallen sooo hard for those, especially for the second book! Really something, that even a non-fantasy reader can digest. "Oldies" party is a cool concept :)
Danial is like the great fluffer for fantasi books, was't feeling it, and now i can't waith to READ that book
This was one of my favorite books of the year this year! I love the old men and it just reminded me of the fantasy version of This is Spinal Tap lol
I think the metaphor of old rock bands vs the new bands is super interesting!! ❤
