Thankyou Hannah. This has been a masterclasss in physical and emotional recovery following injury, no matter if you’re an athlete or an ordinary person interested in fitness. Love your honesty, vulnerability, strength and faith.
Hi Hannah, I’m an adult recreational ballet dancer and also rehabbing a foot injury right now. I didn’t have to have surgery, but I slipped in my pointe shoes and rolled my foot underneath me, aggravating an old injury. It’s slow progress for me too- it’s been 2 months and I’m not allowed to jump yet. Your feelings are so real and valid and it’s nice to not feel alone, to feel like I’m joining you in rehab (I’m actually doing rehab watching this). The feeling will pass and you’ll be back dancing soon, but your honesty is so appreciated!
Hey hey! Rehab buddies! Good to hear you are making progress. It can feel so slow, even when people say you are moving really fast with it. Each day can feel like weeks.
Hannah…thank you for sharing your strengthening exercises. I am recovering from an injury to my left foot and watching you has really helped. I understand when you say recovery is tough but we’re almost there! Happy New Year from Minnesota, USA.🇺🇸
How fabulous to see your comment! I'm an American, was in Australia for over 20 years, and have relocated back to Minnesota. Happy New Year to you as well🎉
This was a beautiful video, Hannah. You always work so hard. I loved seeing you dance side by side with your brother. I’m so glad you have a supportive, loving family. Even when you are practicing, you look so beautiful.
Hi Hannah, it's really inspiring to see you feeling discouraged and working through it with such a wise perspective. I loved seeing you doing lunges and stretches with your family! Mine don't get together often and I really enjoy when you include those moments.
Thank you :) it wasn't too often for me either as I need space and no distractions most of the time, but I am so grateful for the support of my family.
Your self motivation is amazing! I watched this being amazed at how you do these exercises and workouts for hours each day on your own... so please don't feel bad for appreciating input from your team and community at times to keep going! You're an inspiration Hannah.
Good to hear from you as always, sister. Sorry I can't be here live anymore because my Saturday ballet classes have re-started. I did want to mention something I thought of while you were describing your stiffness and knee issues. Have you ever used red light therapy? I actually learned about it quite recently and ended up getting a red light panel. For me, I don't have a serious injury, but I have struggled a great deal with my back getting badly knotted up from my housecleaning day job and my "urban homesteading" activities, especially when the wheelbarrow is involved. Using the red light panel really helps get me loosened up and able to work out the knots with massage tools, it has also helped my calves a lot.
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm only doing ballet as a hobby but it's one of my favourite things in the world, I'm currently about 7 weeks post ankle surgery and I just recently was allowed to start rehab, I'm equally as motivated as I am scared and sad because at the moment it feels like getting back to ballet is almost impossible - but watching your videos makes me feel way better. Obviously I'm in a very different position than you but before my surgery I was desperately looking for someone who would give me some hope that it's going to be fine eventually and this is what I felt when I first found your videos.
I'm so glad that my vlogs can provide some comfort on your surgery journey. Boy, it's a hard journey, and so up and down, but I am so grateful to be able to share these moments with you all, however tough they can be :)
Happy New Year. I can relate -- my year was full of ups and downs. Some great moments, but also some setbacks and disappointments. You are not alone. Best wishes and healing vibes for 2025!
If I would give grace to myself, I would say “Time for ice cream!” and sit on the couch all day. Thanks Hannah for sharing your recovery process! Best wishes!
Hi again, Hannah! It’s wonderful seeing your evolution and dedication through time in your videos, you’re a true inspiration and thank you for documenting the process :) I was wondering, do you have some kind of advisor (surgeon, physiotherapist,…) who helps you navigate the fluctuations of recovery and break down the exercises according to your evolution, or do you monitor all this mostly by yourself? I’m personally having a hard time finding the right amount of accountability I have to take in the process, feeling a bit lost and confused😅
"Tenacity is what it takes to dare unrelentingly". Hi Hannah, Ross the old dude from Australia here. Sometimes the road seems never-ending, other times too short. All we can do is focus and go one step at a time until our destination is right before us. Be kind to yourself, and allow your mind to rest, smell the roses and smile. You are doing great. 👋💐 🦘😊
Well done for all your hard work, Hannah. You are looking very graceful. Who knows, perhaps this experience will give you an even bigger passion for Ballet. And yes, all things work for the good for those who love God. Even the hardest trials bring blessings - especially the hardest trials. It's usually afterwards that we see this, and it's usually in the form of inner strength and spiritual growth 💖
Yes. I've been struggling to see how God has been growing me through this, but after a recent setback I'm starting to see what He is doing through it all. It's funny how sometimes He has to slow us down to remind us that we can do nothing without Him.
Thoughts while watching….. You are such a hard, dedicated worker even when you don’t feel like it. Floor barre for turnout/loosen! So glad you got to join Company class! Loved the ending of this video. ❤🙏
Thank you so much :) I really appreciate it. At the moment floor barre is a bit tricky as I am having to restrict the amount of times I point and flex my foot. But as soon as it is ready, I will be doing floor barre, as there really is nothing like it!
This was really nice to see your progress and family at the holiday. I am just starting weight bearing after my heel bone re-shape and subsequent Achilles re-attach surgery it’s been recovery since the end of October. Seems endless.
I know the feeling. Honestly the hardest part is the continual pain and discomfort each day. But it will be worth it in the end! I never regretted my previous surgery, it was one of the best things I ever did.
My younger two brothers also do ballet and some acrobatics as well, so my mum makes sure she keeps up their flexibility with some of my programs I've created online :)
❤ Happy New Year. - God is clearly blessing you. You look very fit and agile, maybe more than you realize. Am doing some of your ballet stretches from earlier videos, very helpful. - Thank you for your Prayer and Perfect Scripture Quote for your viewers. Sending back: May God grant us all His Love, Protection and Healing Power in 2025, and Always. - Lynda from Florida
Thank you, that really means a lot. It feels like I have given a lot to the recovery so far but struggling to feel like it has truly given anything back just yet. Patience seems to be key.
Aurelie Dupont is an amazing person who might interesse you. She had an injury and she has struggle to go back dancing as an Etoile in the Opera de Paris. I share with you this interview i hope you can translate it in english because it is in french. ua-cam.com/video/9XCv2UslOm4/v-deo.html

Hehe, I am sure I have had a few days like that myself - ice cream of choice is definitely an açai bowl with lots of PB!
"Good morning! It's Monday!" LOL so relatable - literally me every single monday 😑😂
hehe, me too!

Unfortunately my mum purchased this so many years ago I am actually unsure where we got it from. So sorry, I know this isn't helpful
