"Momos" "Momos" "momos" argh.. this pronunciation cringes me everytime... please don't murder the ORIGINAL WAY to call the dish. IT'S MO:MO.... not momos...no matter how many you have it in number, it's still called MO:MO.... there's no any plural form to it...

It was later introduced to Tibet China by a Nepalese princess who was married to a Tibetan king in the late fifteenth centuryand as far away as Japan in different forms and names such as gyoza
It evolved as an offering to Bhagwan Sri Ganeshji as "MOdak" as satvic offering. THEN they used to have sweet fillings and made of rice flour, in Nepal and other other countries people eat meat so they started filling with meat, as time evolved rice flour was replaced with maida.

Not being biased about countries but the only difference between nepal and India what I feel is same spices used in different ways and the different way is the amount of spices we pour in the food from oil to the spices and that’s makes Indian food more spiced out because of the amount and varieties they put in the food and when it comes to nepal it’s more like same dish but that on point not too spicy not too sour not to oily just blended well proud Nepali ❤️and trust me no any country can beat Nepal’s Momo’s
Momo is nepali street food. You should’ve tried authentic steamed momo first and then kothey(which is half fried) and fried momo. Chilli momo are usually served at the restaurants, but you can find yummy steamed momo with jhol(peanut, sesame and tomato sauce) or regular tomato spicy sauce 🤤
Who said momo is streetfood...when we were kids there were no system of Street momo like chatpate, panipuri etc we used to go to restaurants to eat momo....later only they brought momo into streets.
@@rakshyapokharel516 are you from kathmandu? If you are than you should know about bhyar bhyare momo (momo which was sold in small bhatti) where they sell only momo with jhol in a public location for immediate consumption. Street food doesn’t always have to be by a vendor who sell in a cart.

@@alfonsoandjessica: See, when we cook at home in India, we (at least I) prefer to use meat on the bone... because we cook visually unlike in the West. That way, we can prevent overcooking the meat and keep it juicy. Also, meat on the bone (both Chicken and Chevon) can be slow-cooked for a long time without any issues. Marination time plays a big part as well. Most restaurants (at the Indian ones in the West) won't invest that kind of time... and therefore the meat can be tough at times, especially using parts like chicken breasts.
Indian and Nepali food is quite similar not A100 percent but 40 percent... India has so much sweet and spicy food and so many recipes.. like wise Nepali food..and the culture similarly coz of Hinduism...but there is some meat we are not 🚫 not allowed into Nepal like beef.. its like visiting norteast of india saying Indians eat dogs . Nepal has 100+ different types of ethnic population some prefers eating these thing some not. In the west of Nepal You will not find buffalo related things for sell just like north India
Also dal chawal of India the custom origin from Nepal dal Bhat. Just like idli in southern India from Indonesia, samosa from central Asia like authentic Indian food is probably rasgula. As even Gulab jamun is outside. That being said blay eye peas that is cultivated in South Asia came from Africa and kidney bean (rajma) from Mexico. So like Nepali people will say dal chawal origin from Nepal just like valmiki Ramayan and rig vedh (vashsista rishi ashram in Nepal, teacher of Shree ram also).
What culture similar are there between India nd Nepal there is vast difference...U find it similar cuz nowadays Nepalese influenced by Bollywood so they forget their own culture nd adopt others.

You can take a complete cooking video as well with him. If you really want to have the real authentic taste of Trivandrum food, I'd suggest his restaurant. You can look him up on youtube by the key words 'Kishore cooking malayalam'. In kerala, every districts has their own tastes. Trust me it'll be a life time experience with him, filming him cooking and he's kinda all fun.

Nepali and Indian food are similar, however what differentiate them is Nepali food is less spicey and properly adapted to suit Nepali palate with its own special flavors and spices. I think the restaurant you have visited is actually a Nepalese owned restaurant and thus food are toned down in spices. The interior and utensils used for serving is also a typical Nepali way. Nepali momo and chowmein are completely different and fabulously delicious here in Nepal due to use of local ingredients to make them. Indian food are adapted and made more delicious here in Nepal, as in India they are either too spicy, oily or full of masala to overwhelm anyone. You need to visit Nepal to have a clear understanding of Nepalese food and you will definitely love them more. Hope you visit Nepal soon
You should definitely visit Gujarat when you visit India again. It is a must visit state of India to enjoy the Hospitality & unlimited variety of delicious food you will ever get in other states of India. So many different variety of food is the signature of this state in food

Chicken Tikka masala was invented in UK, it's their new national dish. Butter chicken is from India. Butter Chicken uses dark meat. Tikka masala uses breast part of chicken Tikka from Tandoor. Samosa is deep fried in oil not Ghee.

Both countries foods are very similar im sense of the use of the types of spices. Indians tend to be more innovative and almost use too much spices in their food. While nepalese stick to their traditional food. Some people might prefer too much spices in their food but we have definately forgotten that spices wore used as medicine more than just flavours. The use of too much heavy spices began with demand for spices from the west and after britishers left it got even more.

Nepal is small but 😢 here people have big heart they live like nicely and happily here food is so much tasty .They love each other they respect each other they give food and clothes to poor.They don't do disbehaviour.
A small note to you, it's momo not momos. And do not cut the momo in half, you have to eat it whole to get the proper taste.
You have to try just steam momo and fry momo to get a authentic Nepalese taste in momo. And trust me nothing can be better than momo😊. Momo is our pride

Both countries foods are very similar im sense of the use of the types of spices. Indians tend to be more innovative and almost use too much spices in their food. While nepalese stick to their traditional food. Some people might prefer too much spices in their food but we have definately forgotten that spices wore used as medicine more than just flavours. The use of too much heavy spices began with demand for spices from the west and after britishers left it got even more.
Based on all the interiors and the chulo ( the wooden cooking area) those are mostly Nepali style! ❤
