Giant Monster Tracks Discovered | Godzilla (1998) | Now Playing
I'm surprised all the hate that this film got,, It holds a special place in my heart. Since it is the first godzila film I ever saw 😮
It’s the original for sure and I like it. the new one came out with more CGI and stuff
Ditto!
Same! Me and my brother watched it countless times lol…
Same.
See the thing is for most of the audience this was not their first Godzilla movie, so a lot of people look at it as Godzilla in name only, which honestly it is. I was 10 when I saw this in theatres but it wasn’t my first Godzilla movie, Gojira was. But I still enjoy it as a fun monster movie, as opposed to a Godzilla movie.
I’m a huge Godzilla fan. And I do remember loving this movie when it came out. I was 9. Looking back I can totally understand why diehard Goji fans would be upset with this one. But if you can just look past calling the thing Godzilla, we still got a pretty good monster movie out of it.
What does a Goji berry have to do with Godzilla?
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
Childhood classic. Must’ve watched it 50 times
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
Average movie enjoyers: American Godzilla. Neat!
Godzilla fans: this film is an afront to our lord.
pretty much this
It's a fun movie, idc that other people think it's some sort of abomination
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
Kevin Dunn faced Zilla and Decepticons after he retired. Legend.
Haha when i saw the first live-action Transformers movie for the first time, it was then i realized that the actor Kevin Dunn was acting in Godzilla (1998) 😅

2:28, I love how she’s like, I like what I see 😂
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
This movie never got the sequel it deserved .
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
For me this is the BEST Godzilla movie all time
Iti is okay to be increidbly wrong
Same! Grew up with the original, which always looked like a rubber bath toy to me
I wouldn't call it the "best"....who am I kidding? It's still among my favorite Godzilla films.
Man you need to watch other godzilla movies.
@@seanmc7128 I've seen several. The best in my mind remains the '54 film. Can't top the originals, baby.
this movie is great. this is still godzilla, no matter how you might think of it. i like this godzilla, even though it’s a lot different from the rest.
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
The movie is good and entertaining, the only problem was calling that iguana "Godzilla", it's good that now he is called Zilla and he had the opportunity to "fight" the real Godzilla
*This* "Iguana" is still called Godzilla to this day.
Zilla is a completely different creature.
This was a re-imagining of Godzilla. I hate the need people had to re-contextualize it and act like it existed in the same universe as the Toho Godzilla. That’s some serious over dedication to the original design.
@@bradysmith4405 they're just dumb fanboys, in fact toho's position on the film BEFORE the fan backlash (japanese are very eager not to cause offense so they bow to any backlash instantly) was that this was the perfect reimagining of the original 1950's godzilla.
@@doltBmB the critical hate on it I find odd too.
It’s still Godzilla Zilla is a different monster based on this version of Godzilla. Nothing is wrong with this version the cartoon proved that this design can with what Godzilla is and was.
Tatopoulos character is an easter egg of Patrick Tatopoulos the french greek designer who has worked with Roland Emmerich since Universal Soldier until Godzilla and also made a cameo in The Patriot
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
This is my favourite of all the Godzilla movies.
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
this would have been a good chance for america to make their own godzilla. it would be so awesome to see zilla and godzilla team up. i love zilla
The original creators of Godzilla have him square up against him and just wasted him in a single move.
@@zukabazuka I know but it's fun to imagine them working together. Like that fan animation of them 2 fighting the gryphon
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
The hype was real back then from the director of Independence Day and Anaconda (1997) freaking audience out of giant monster films
Roland Emmerich didn’t direct Anaconda.
@@No-pos-ta-cabron I know that but it came out right before Godzilla (1998) and I saw it in theatres scared the shit outta me as a kid
@@adarshmishra9685But why did you said "the director of independence day and anaconda?" 😅
No offense dude but think before you type.
Will never compare to the originals. Regardless, this was enjoyable. I think It can stand alone pretty well. It wasn't the mighty Gozilla king I grew up watching in the heisei era films, the millennial versions. But this was a creature you could love, hate, root for, and mourn over. This Godzilla isn't THE GODZILLA. But does earn its right in the Godzilla legacy but that's my opinion
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
I know that feeling !
Once swam a huge canal in South Florida And before we swam back my buddy and I found a very fresh ( wasnt tbere a few minutes ago)foot print in the mud. It was of a 14 or 16 foot gator that had slid into the dark water we now had to swim across..The far shore was covered with hanging branches out over the water.
Seeing that foot print was a primal feeling !
Not a real "Godzilla" per se. However, not being a classified as a "Godzilla" movie, not bad. Really great score composed by David Arnold.
And Puff Daddy 😂 🤙
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
It was an excellent movie

She's The Most Wonderful Science He's Ever Met. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ That's Elsie Chapman Nick's Boss And Also A Friend.
This is my favorite childhood movie I remember watching on my birthday from my dad . I hope Roland does another Godzilla movie one day

hope Zilla make debut in MonsterVerse
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
The soundtrack of this movie turned me onto Jamiroquai when I was a kid!
Still got the taco bell 🔔 cup holder, who still has that lol
I don’t care what people say- this is my favorite Godzilla movie.
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
THAT'S IT! I finally came up with what this movie should have ben called. GIGUANA! Pronounced Jygwana. Because that ain't no Godzilla in this movie.
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
@@Alpha-ed5pm Depends how hard he steps. If he steps on you gently, he'll still crush you to death, but you won't go very deep into the ground. But if he stomps on you you'll go deeper into the ground, be more crushed, and just as dead.
Best movie from my childhood.
Elsie Chapman Is Nick's Boss And Also A Friend.
Nick Tatopoulos Is Earth's Last Hope To New York
Niko Tatopoulos Is Earth's Last Hope To Save New York.

The real reason a lot of people hate this movie? Product placement!!!!
This way better than the Japanese version
Is that Sam's Father from transformer 2007 ?
Yes it is.
No it’s Alan’s dad from small soldiers lol
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
Nick Tatopoulos And Elsie Chapman Are Friends.
Is that the same guy who was Mr incredible boss ??😂
Remind me of my childhood 1998 it was a master piece after Jurassic park and The lost world
nice giant monster tracks discovered scene - in godzilla [1998] film !!!!
This was an awaome movie to see as a kid.
They're Just Friends.
the footprint is like someone digging a hole. No grass, rock etc on top of it.
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
@@Alpha-ed5pm yep, while splattering you
The movie where godzilla wasn't godzilla. 😂
The 90s were epic.
He could have just run Godzilla down in his car, wouldn’t have been charged.
for me this movie is better than the new ones
The creature is not at all Godzilla though. It's the farthest thing from Godzilla's origin and traits. It's just an overgrown iguana. It doesn't have atomic breath either.
But as a giant creature film it's not that bad.
Beret in Ferris Bueller - Awesome
Beret in Godzilla - Cringe
If they would have just made Godzilla look like Godzilla the movie would have been fine, but some artist thought his version would be better then the original .
Colonel General Hicks Asked Roache And His Men To Leave. We're Getting Off Your Property Sir. Colonel Hicks Sir. Good. Very Good.
I still have the dvd!
Was this before or after Brodrick killed people and got a slap on the wrist??
After!
I love this movie. It would have been received so much better if they didn't make Godzilla look this stupid.
Godzilla: Creepy Boss montage?
One thing that confused me in this movie, Hicks is a colonel. in the animated series he’s a major what happened that got him demoted?
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
Was this before or after Matthew Broderick killed someone with his car?
It was after. According to wiki, Matthew crashed another car when he was driving into the wrong lane in Tempo, Northern Ireland in 1987 killing two people: Anna Gallagher the driver age 28 and her mother Margaret Doherty, age 67.
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
6:15: he struck again 😔
Godzilla Minus 1 finally erased this movie from my memory
Still prefer this.
So what are you doing here.. OH yeah juste for the hater time..
My childhood
Did you see how Nick stood in a footprint
1:45 - if Godzilla steps on me, will he push me deeper into the ground with his foot?
3:05: next stop: New York.
just in case you guys didnt see but the first foot print shown doesnt match the other foot prints later on discovered lol
Never understood why this movie is hated so much, yeah some cgi scenes are not the best but its not bad at all for 1998, and this movie has great story, and for sure that ny rainy vibe just add so much to the movie
lol helicopter sound 0:58
See kids. This is why you don’t skip school.

After this and inspector gadget we didn't get to see Matthew again.
Don’t forget hear, because he voted Simba from Disney’s The Lion King 1 & 2.
Tower Heist??
Mathew Roderick killed someone and got away with it. he doesn't deserve to star in any movies
This is one of those extremely rare films where I hated every single character (including the big one) on the screen.
This movie was made for general audience's NOT godzilla fans.
The problem with this movie isn't the movie, itself, though the comedy relief gets old fast, it is this is NOT Godzilla. It is like Starship Troopers, a perfectly fine summer bubblegum action flick but it is NOT Starship Troopers. It is also not ever a good idea to to take an established IP and immediatly, deliberatly try to enrage the established fanbase.
Anyone who thinks Starship Troopers is a simple popcorn movie is someone whose movie opinions you should not respect.
@@HunterAllyn Anyone who read the novel first would.
Bugs hunt blood Roch dieing be king
Those tracks look so fake. Perfectly cut out and completely flat at the bottom.
This is a fine movie on its own...but..a godzilla movie it is not.
Decent movie, but a bastardization of Godzilla.
Blood bath huntr bugs
I usually enjoy a good monster movie, but over the last 20 or 30 years, it seems filmmakers have got stuck on the idea that every monster must be unbelievably gigantic, and it's all got a bit....silly. A 30 foot King Kong is still far bigger than any biped that ever walked the earth, and I can suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy the film. A 100 ft gorilla is just unfeasible and stupid. There was a troll movie a couple of years ago, where the creature was something like 200 ft tall, with feet the size of a two bedroom house, same thing, just stupid. And this movie is just the same, a ridiculuosly vast creature who probably couldn't even support itself on land. They could have had the same amount of destruction and danger with a creature a quarter of the size or less, and remained within the bounds of possibility.
Just change the title to "Feet Monster" instead of "godzilla" and people would like the film,..
Telling me bug bigger nuke that's patintied what fuck do worm
That's a Africa?
alan harper wtfffffffffffff xc
#nargizasdilyara
Movie about giant lizard pretending to be Godzilla. Total fraud. Godzilla should have sued.
oh this is the one with the washed up actor ferris or something. Lame
Movie writers not understanding that 17% larger is basically nothing, esp. in regards to earthworms. 🤦🏻♂️
Good monster movie. horrible godzilla movie.
Matthew Broderick. What an awful human being.
How so? 😅

nah it was kinda fun
Jon Cryer was born in New York City, NY in 1965.
