MW is by far the worst healer in M+ this season and it's not even a contest. Ok maybe holy priest is just as bad. We never take MW above +20(and usually never, tbh, unless no pally queues for FH and we need Tiger's Lust) in our groups because unless they are 3100+ pre-exodia, they die more than holy priests, do little heal and dmg as a result, have bad toolkits, and no lust. Their dmg and healing output is fine, pretty much on par with the pally, WHEN THEY STAY ALIVE, which they usually don't. Being in direct competition with holy pally, they don't stand a chance as the pally's toolkit is way better. Oh, and man they are THIRSTY while Hpal doesn't even know what mana is.
What? Have you played MW? They are the best healer on mana because of insane return from Way of the Crane... Also their current tier set bonus gives them tons of mana as well. As far as healing... Mistweaver pumps incredible healing when you play it right. Sure if you're dying, then you won't do any healing, but that's true for any healer, so it's a bit of a silly point. Mistweaver is easily in the conversation as a top 3 healer right now, slightly behind Pally and Disc Priest.
Love the mistweaver monk its so much fun and when you get the ramp together it blasts. Never tried mist monk before and now i cant stop playing it looks like ive found a main😊

The dot the first boss in FH puts on you, it can be put back on him with Difuse Magic. And do you count chi cocoon as a DR? You can cast Chi-Ji right before a big burst and the shield helps a ton. And the Going Bananas cast, you can leg sweep that and get that aoe dmg out of the grp. Great video! I love my monk!
Yeah, shields don't count as DR in this game... A damage reduction has to be an ability that actually says: "Reduces all allies damage taken by "X" amount"... For example, Disc Priest can cast Pain Suppression on an ally which reduces their damage taken by 40%. Those kinds of spells are almost essential on higher keys because there are so many abilities that can 1-shot a tank or an ally, and adding a shield onto them just won't cut it... That being said, I believe there are ways to get around those one shots, and I still think Mistweaver's are the #1 healer for M+ for all of the other reasons I listed here :)
I feel like MW is the healer that needs the most dungeon familiarity/knowledge to be good as opposed to the other healers. Once you know how the pulls work, what to interrupt, what dots to diffuse back onto the bosses/mobs, when the dmg is coming out, etc, you can shine.
you have to have a look at the Mark of Dargrul Trinket from Neltharions lair, this thing does 10-12% of my overall 48k dmg as mw. This does crazy dmg is ST as well as MT, and with the Shadowflame dmg embellishments on top you can even get to about 35-40k dps in single target alone ^^
So I recently got Neltharion's Call to Dominance trinket and omg, 10 stacks of it gives me 10k int (Not joking or exaggerating) when I pop Chi Ji and I am hitting 60k crits on the up front enveloping mist instant part of the heal.
The problem with them is the require damage to change a bit of their playstyle in order to maximize the healing and dps a mistweaver can provide. Most tanks and dps aren't wanting to have to work around a healer. They expect the healer to work around them.

Some things feel extremely easy on mw, but there’s a lot of tyr fights that fee completely absurd. Pulled 150k on a 22 tyr 3rd boss of HOI and still wiped. They lack a DR, a battle rez or lust. They also lack major party cd’s that help a lot in current meta- sac, bop, bubble etc. their group wide throughput is relatively good but they certainly lose out to pally and voker imo. They’re fun as, but they need a solid ancient teachings buff and dr’s
I def understand the difficulty of the 3rd boss on Halls, I just did a +20 last night, I'm sure a 22 is insane... No matter what healer you are running in that dungeon, your DPS will need to help the healer out by using their own defensives, etc... There's just no way around it. I also think the buffs a Mistweaver brings are actually fine. Yes they don't have Lust or a B-rez, but they have an incredible external in Cocoon, party-wide cleanse in Revival and huge throughput CDs in Chi-Ji and Sheluin's Gift... It is possible to time higher keys without having a Disc Priest or Holy Pally. I absolutely agree though, Mistweaver needs a DR of some kind. That would be really helpful. It seems pretty dumb for some healers to get DR's for their team and some not to.
As long you stay at the 20 cap its true for shitty grps even more for me the days are over where i got salty healing the same pepega dps over and over again now i dont care and only spin only thing for me is i think mw is to squish for a meele healer
I think your point stands if the person knows the dungeon/raid fully, if you lack a bit of knowledge or timing is off, well you fall of instantly and become one of the worst healers. Personally I think they need to rework mw fully, to not force fist and mist together and then being caught by different mechanics while you are ramping. Now all of that falls into water since dungeon is just fistweaving so yes that aspect is really good but still really situational, and overall won't go any higher than it actually is because the skill tree is messed up fully.
I hear ya for sure, but I really do believe It can reach the upper limits of keys and I'm going to try to get there this season. Maybe I'm wrong, we'll have to see :)
@@ZucoWoW Oh no, it can 100% reach it, you will just need to know everything perfectly like when to use chiji and other cds, but other than that if you mess up in high keys you might struggle. Did almost all 20-21s, and it was a weird one, I could heal a lot, but any unwanted extra damage is where I seem to struggle because that is going outside the comfort zone to heal a greedy DPS.
@@ZucoWoW you can do higher keys than that without a healer. You can’t claim to know the best healer when you’re not engaging in top-end content. That’s the equivalent of stating the best Indy car from your experience on a go-kart track. There’s nothing wrong with doing 20s. There is something wrong with using a clickbait title to gaslight players who may not know any better and choose to play MW based on your misleading video. The best healers right now are pally and evoker. But don’t take my word for it, go look at the highest timed keys. Every healer spec has timed a 27 but holy priest, disc priest, and MW. The best disc can do is a 26 and the other two can only time 25s. If you play MW, the sad reality is that you’re going to get declined from most groups.

If you had, you would know I mention Disc Priest and Holy Pally and talk about how they have an edge over Mistweaver for very high end keys because of their DR spells... The entire point of a thumbnail is to get people to click on it, lol... I'm not misleading anyone... The average player clicking on my video isn't going to be mislead into playing Mistweaver and spend their days sitting in group finder wondering why they made such a big mistake... The +25 keys and above are only being done by the top 1-5% of the player base, and again, I mentioned several times how Damage Reduction spells are really important for those pushing the highest levels... You're missing the larger point of videos and thumbnails like this... I'm here to inspire people to try out Mistweaver and show them that it's a much better healer option than what people will tell you it is...

For me 2 main issues are no brez and no lust. That I think puts them a bit behind in high end keys yet MW still my fav healer. I tried to do a paladin in preparation for 10.1.5 but I just had no interest. Great Vid. MW still recovering from some bad reputation in S1

Used to MW main for years and took a break. When I came back the state of healing as a whole looked bad but this made me want to heal again.

Mw used to be my fav, then I found how much better and stronger Evoker was. Now when I heal on my monk it just feels weak
