Lux was the king...no one ever looked more weird and their last gigs where just mindblowing great .like their early 80 s gigs..the guitarist is AWESOME..FANTASTIC
Sounds GOOD in 2020 & beyond. Music like this only gets better, not older. Never got to see them in concert but very thankful for great footage like this.
@@douglasbatley1907 WOW! I'll bet it was a killer performance with great memories. You are one cool, extremely fortunate person, imo. Take care of yourself/your loved ones.
No way , I saw them in Liverpool at The Royal Court Theatre about 35 years ago. Not long after Smell Of Female came out. Top night , what I remember of it.
what an amazing, perfect, and powerful gem, showing the incredible energy and power of rock n roll. A solid thick sound, in key, pleasant but strong tones, everyone playing their best, simple song structure, limited instruments, yet it is as powerful as a jet engine or rocket at takeoff to the moon. a simple and beautiful example of the power of rock, at its very best. a wonderful recording. it's like putting a rocket on a bicycle.
@@TheWolfsnack my dad actually took a 1950 gas powered lawnmower and bolted it to the rear end of a 1930 square wooden children's wagon, and my brother and I would sit in the wagon, steer it by the front tiller, engage the clutch and ride up and down the road. He was an electrical engineer who liked to build stuff.
Like a lot of people, Wednesday introduced me to The Cramps. I find their music fun and interesting. But, the most compelling thing is the Lux and Ivy story. Few people ever find that connection but when they do, it is magic.
Poison Ivy...her guitar playing sounds like the end result of crossing Duane Eddy with Link Wray, with a dash of Carl Perkins thrown in for good measure. Listen close, kiddies, this is as good as it gets!
Saw them at the " Red Parrot " Perth W.A , as an underage School Kid... never forget the punk in the crowd yelling " poison me Ivy"...biggest freak show I've ever since, still seems like yesterday even though 30 odd years ago...lol
It pains me to watch Lux in this live performance. I first saw the Cramps in 1984 and the final time was probably around 2005. I saw them a total of seven times. Lux was clearly in serious decline but still trying and succeeding to put on a good show. In my opinion Lux was one of the greatest frontmen in history. It didn't matter who was in the band, the Cramps were always sharp musically and the most entertaining band I ever saw, and I would conservatively guess I have seen five hundred bands in forty five years of concert going.
In every interview I've seen w/ Lux and P. Ivy they are always so nice, funny, really top shelf, class A! - Live at Napa State Mental Hospital is still got to be #1 coup performance space location. The poor quality, b&w shaky video only enhances the show, as if catching sight of bigfoot if it had a psychobilly band!
Of the few videos I've seen of Lux and Co., this seems like best quality show and band , looks like the bass player is using a rare black Jack Casady Epi bass ......
Please put them in the ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME THEY WERE THE BEST R.I.P. .LUX THE MAN
Peggy Rogers that hall is stupid girl, dont let it bother you .
Considering they are from Akron Ohio, The Cramps belong in there big time right next to the Ramones.
Fook the RRHOF
Please don’t
RRHOF too lame for the cramps
Rock and Roll's greatest frontman showing everyone how it is done. And making it look so easy.
He really did have a style of his own
One of their last shows. RIP Lux you the man.
Lux was the king...no one ever looked more weird and their last gigs where just mindblowing great .like their early 80 s gigs..the guitarist is AWESOME..FANTASTIC
I was totally star struck when I met The Cramps! Such a great band!!!

I saw them at Liverpool Royal Court theatre about 35 years ago. Undoubtedly one of the best I've witnessed. 👌

Ditto!
If The Cramps were kids in our days and made that type of music now, they would still be considered a fresh new breath in rock. So amazingly timeless!
That's how you do it! I can't do it but they nailed it. Wicked and watchable forever. Thanks Cramps!
Sure do miss the Cramps.
This lyrics is just SO deep!
Lux, just proves how good the music was back in late 70's early 80's.
My friends and I met the band once and talked Ivy. She was so quiet and sweet.

Why did they never made it big?. Because they were really good...
A true band - prob why they didn't make it big, as people are fucking idiots

Poison Ivy the greatest female guitarist of all time.
Love the look on the young woman's face at 2.25. A new disciple!
Cramps Need votes for Rock Hall Of Fame and they deserve them ;)
Ivy is the HOTTEST on stage in rock history ;)
I really don't get the rock n roll hall of fame. I have a suspicion lux would have hated it.
Hell yeah this is my POISON!

My brother will go on and on about Eric Clapton. Maybe on a good day Eric Clapton could carry Ivy Rorsach's guitar case.
I wouldn’t mind getting to know the woman dancing at 2:05...... 🤪😎
Just noticed that ‘ the end is near’ is on the monitor in front of Lux, did he know something? Freaky!
Boat Axe .
What does 11/08/06 mean? You should write it out.
How did they get the son of wolf man to play the drums
Fuck yes!!!
