    Nice assembly, primer must be compatible to the paint that you use temperature is important paint should be sprayed at about 70° or higher, Dupli-Color works great, with a clear coat , then it can be buffed out with a soft cloth after about 24 hours

    Awesome build mate looking forward to building this..Ya paint issue is because Tamiya PS paints are not for plastic models they are made for RC bodies mate 😀

      Thank you! Have fun building one of these. It's a great kit. And yeah, I didn't realize that the paint was for RC bodies. Have a great weekend, and thanks for watching.

    David Your mustang turned out nice , perfect color and the engine detail.
    Your paint wrinkled because of moisture in the can or the primer you use . That happens to me sometimes.
    Nice Review and build.

      Thank you for the compliments. yeah, I figured it was moisture, I should have used my airbrush on this instead of the rattle can. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great week.

    Looks like Revell did a really nice job on that carburetor I would hate to cover it up with a air cleaner. I wonder if there's a way to install micromagnets on the carburetor and on the air cleaner so you can remove them anytime you want ?

    • @PlasticImaginationWorkshop
      @PlasticImaginationWorkshop  6 місяців тому

      I agree, it is a shame to hide it. The magnet idea is a good one, I may try that at some point. Have a great week and thanks again for watching.

    David great build btw. Yes the only reason the paint peeled off is because its not the correct paint for plastic models, its specific for inside clear parts of Radio control cars, (poly carbonate)...TS from Tamiya comes on nicely, specifically for Plastic Models. Love the new version of this model, thank you so much.....a wonderful video indeed and like I said before, awesome build! Thank you.

    I very much want to hear your narration; however, the background sound obscures that. I am a Ford Mustang admirer, too. I eventually want to build a car carrier trailer (perhaps with a Ford 900 cab) with just Mustangs appropriate for the same year as the tractor.

    • @PlasticImaginationWorkshop

      Thanks for the input on the audio, I've tried to male adjustments in the videos to make it easier to hear. That's a great idea you have about the Ford truck with a car carrier full of Mustangs. Thanks for watching, and have a great weekend 👍

    Thank you for sharing. When assembling the engine, any challenges having the glue adhere to painted parts? For engine detailing, is that Enamel or Acrylic paint? cheers.

    • @PlasticImaginationWorkshop
      @PlasticImaginationWorkshop  7 місяців тому

      You're welcome. You need to scrap off the paint where the parts connect or use some super glue. Workshop well both ways. All of the paint is acrylic except for the body color. I hope this helps, thanks for watching.

      Thank you. That is what I thought, but I did not notice paint being scraped off before applying the "Tamiya extra thin" glue.

    Great build video and that tire trick is really a neat one that I keep forgetting, hot water can be our friend if used properly.

      Thanks very much. As for the green diff housing, I just wanted to add a bit of color matching under the car. I also painted the sway-bar green as well. Just my personal touch. Thanks for watching, have a great weekend.

    Any reason why you used polycarbonate spray paint on the body? Do you normally use polycarbonate? Just asking as I want to paint a model metallic purple and it only comes in a PS. I was thinking it might not be suitable after seeing the problems you had with your paint job wrinkling.

    • @PlasticImaginationWorkshop
      @PlasticImaginationWorkshop  8 місяців тому

      This was Tamiya paint and is specifically designed for plastic model kits. That said, this was a very old can of paint which is most likely the reason it had issues. I have used this same type of paint many times without issues. It's all part of building models, sometimes things go as planned, sometimes they don't. Thanks for watching, have a great weekend.

    • @billeves4627
      @billeves4627 8 місяців тому +1

      @@PlasticImaginationWorkshop I noticed you were using PS Tamiya ipaint. PS paint is made specifically for spraying the inside of clear polycarbonate radio control car bodies. TS Tamiya spray is the correct paint for ordinary model car bodies.

      Bonjour,
      Merci pour la question!
      Pour donner au volant un aspect "grain de bois", je l'ai peint en orange et je l'ai laissé sécher. Après cela, j’ai utilisé un lavis noir et je l’ai également laissé sécher. Une fois le linge sec, j'en ai légèrement retiré une partie avec de l'essence minérale jusqu'à ce qu'il ressemble à du bois. Enfin, j'ai appliqué une couche transparente brillante.
      Je vais passer cela via Google Translate et j'espère que cela apparaîtra clairement pour vous. J'espère que ça aide. Merci d'avoir regardé et passez une bonne semaine !

    It doesn't look like you scrape off the paint where you make styrene glue joints ? Do you ? I wish we didn't have to scrape off
    the paint, and chrome LOL wait a minute ? My bad, you do scrape the paint off glue areas.

    • @PlasticImaginationWorkshop
      @PlasticImaginationWorkshop  6 місяців тому

      Yes, I do scrape it off unless I am using super glue, then I typically don't. It would be nice of there was a better solvent that would work on plain and painted parts. Thanks for watching.
