I know as a Tanzanian citizen in my country we hardly win in international sports competitions only time we perform well is at the CAF Champions leagues with teams like Simba SC and Yanga SC although every year they just reach at the Quarter finals. Last time Tanzania received a Olympic sliver medal was in 1980 sadly in our country sports is not taken as a priority athletes in Tanzania lack exposure,Training,facilities,sponsporships and academies. To train in athletics is simple, the trainer should just know like the World Record or Olympic Record times like in 100m,200, 800m,1500m, 5000m then have like sports selection day where you pick like 3 people who Record good time in all those displines, if your country is hot like Nigeria, bring them to train in any close cold area, you won't miss medals in any upcoming Olympic

I think a big reason why African Americans dominate track and field, and many other sports in the Olympic games is because of our infrastructure. Our athletes compete at a high level as early as 4 years old in public youth sports leagues, Jr. high school, high school, college, and pros. Subsequently, we send the best of the best to compete internationally and also in the Olympics. Our children compete competitively all the way up to the professional level. A prime example of this was the 16 year old Quincy Wilson who helped the US win a gold medal in the men's 4x400m relay. This is the reason why our basketball, baseball, and track athletes can go straight from high school to the pros. I believe if Nigeria and other African countries can find a way to emulate this model with their athletes, their success level would increase significantly in the Olympics.
We do have the Nigerian woman who just won the medal in Paris 2024, with the flag of USA. But she was supposedly to represent Nigeria in 2020 but as we know Nigeria is always having corrupt leaders and tribal issues too

Seriously speaking, should The Continent and those of The Diaspora be concerned about the priorities of food, clothing, and shelter as opposed to those things that are superfluous to our surviving which could ultimately become our thriving? Must we get our priorities straight?
I think a big reason why African Americans dominate track and field, and many other sports in the Olympic games is because of our infrastructure. Our athletes compete at a high level as early as 4 years old in public youth sports leagues, Jr. high school, high school, college, and pros. Subsequently, we send the best of the best to compete internationally and also in the Olympics. Our children compete competitively all the way up to the professional level. A prime example of this was the 16 year old Quincy Wilson who helped the US win a gold medal in the men's 4x400m relay. This is the reason why our basketball, baseball, and track athletes can go straight from high school to the pros. I believe if Nigeria and other African countries can find a way to emulate this model with their athletes, their success level would increase significantly in the Olympics.
We do have the Nigerian woman who just won the medal in Paris 2024, with the flag of USA. But she was supposedly to represent Nigeria in 2020 but as we know Nigeria is always having corrupt leaders and tribal issues too

We Africans must stick to sports that are within our culture and grasp. We must refuse to be sucked into playing Amerikkkan sports like NFL,a sport which is exclusively American and ethnocentric,Africa has no facilities for that sport, so we must not play it or allow its expansion in Africa market.
