- Jimmy Savile O.B.E. looks at the weekly pop chart from 17th June 1971 and introduces The Sweet, Peter Green, Tami Lynn, Southern Comfort, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Julie Felix, Mick Abrahams, Middle of The Road and a Pans People dance sequence.
I love Pans People!
A Talented bunch of ladies, well done Pan's People 🙂
Flick Colby died of bronchial pneumonia as a result of cancer on 26 May 2011, at the age of 65.
Louise Clarke died of heart failure on 24 August 2012 at the age of 62.
Andi Rutherford died after a long illness on 3 December 2015 at the age of 68.
Ruth Pearson died following a battle with cancer on 27 June 2017 at the age of 70.
Repeating a comment on another video the women of Pan's People will always be beautiful and always dancing 😎
@@kw7400 wow...I like you for that comment..
me too.
In the States, we didn't have PP. YT introduced them to me a coupla mos. ago and I'm hooked..love them!
I don't see myself altogether leaving them, but will come back here to watch -
They are a joy and always bring a smile -
The gigantic body of work for that choreographer, Flick Colby created in her lifetime will elevate her legacy to an elite group!❤❤
@@johnlatham3854 though I think Flick, when interviewed, was very modest about her achievements.
1/8/2023 This is FOREVER in my Favorites playlist. & when it comes on all work stops . Every time I watch I think how much work these ladies put in to this. Also How Naturally Beautiful they all are(were from reading the comments) SO I was 5 years old when this footage was filmed The better part of You Tube & Technology .Rest Wonderful Ladies I will not for get you all.
I just love their look and their style. Always makes me feel good when I watch them. So sad to know several of them are no longer with us.
Part of my childhood, heartbreaking to think that Flick, Andi, Ruth and gorgeous Louise have left us. Thank you for the memories girls xx
You're joking - four of them are dead ? They couldn't have been too old. Life is short for some.
John T yes it’s very sad isn’t it x
@@joanbroad3528 Yes very sad indeed. They always made my world all those years ago, but I wonder how many think how much work had to be put in to reach such a high standard. I echo your sentiment thanks fir the memories…..
@@steveuphill3795 yes..after admiring them for their beauty in what I've seen, I now appreciate the work they must've put in to achieve these results
They danced for years. Their lifestyle didn't allow healthy living (proper food, rest and too much stress). The price they paid was their bodies were improperly nourished leading to disease at an early age. Reality can be so very cruel!
Great routine, very creative choreography
They were all fabulous girls and wonderful beautiful dancer's as well
They made top of pops watchable
And legs and co as well a spin of
From pan's people going into the mid to late 70s and more so the 80s s
For legs n co in particular for me
Aaaaahhhhhhh the seventies......my God do I miss it
Dee Dee in all her youthful glory...happy days...
This was a great song from Three Dog Night and Pans People, lovely natural women. No fake tans, no fake anything.
Aw..Forgot about this one. Glad it was recommended to me! Love Pan's People especially this line up! They seem like they are having so much fun!💞
God bless them all
the little blonde Babs Lord caught my eye !!!
Hermosas,yo en ese año,tenía 5 años!pero,si las hubiera conocido en ese entonces!igual me hubiera enamorado de ellas!muacs
You look at Three Dog Night's discography on Wikipedia and you can see they were MASSIVE in the States at this time but had barely any impact in the UK. Mama Told Me Not to Come made the top ten, and this one just about got in the top 30, and that was it.
Please enjoy these ladies. Because their living numbers are shrinking fast. Since 2011 four of them have now left us. Farewell these fine ladies, RIP Andi, Flick, Ruth and Louise.
@CatfishHunter61..I know its a bit late to ask my friend but you could'nt tell me which one is which?
@Flashman
Line up from left to right at 2:15...
Andrea, Ruth, Flick, Dee Dee, Babs & Louise.
@@blackmore4 ..nice of you
JOY to the Pans' People Dancers.
Back in the late 1960s early 70s I worked with a chap who was in a well known Liverpool group who never had a hit record but their talents got them a brick in the wall facing the Cavern in Mathew Street during the 1990s
They mentioned they had been on a show in Yorkshire where Pans People were performing
And spoke highly of their professionalism and how polite and well spoken they were.
This original line up showed on their TOTP appearances they really were a class act.
Sadly on another post on you tube, the late DJ John Peel is very unflattering about Pans People when he did TOTP. Due to the way they performed they would have greater earnings when things changed in TV coverage of dance and light entertainment like " Strictly" if they had been around.
Marvellous 👌
1971! Good God!
That was the year I started school!
An amazing routine, so complicated, it must have been hell to learn! Difficult to pick out my favourite bit. I love the "fish" mimes. The skipping across the stage at 1:22 must have put some strain on their knees..
Deedee and Ruthie, my favorites!
Ruth definitely my favourite.
Beaming smile.
Could the world be as joyful in 2016 as it was in 1971? 'm a bit sceptic.
Well, not with Jimmy Saville presenting...
The world is shit now
Never. BOO HOO
Vietnam war, Watergate, Munich Olympic attack the next year, a strike every week by some group in Britain, high inflation, .......no age is 'joyful'
try 2022 ....................horrible
Oh how lovely
awesome tribute to that left us ........
It's sooo sad that so many of them are dead now...
I don’t know who these people are but they’re very very good I got a watch this some more
Very pleasant to watch :)
Lot's and lot's of fine feminine form in those hip-huggers.....
Lots of good gettin dancing around on that stage!
So sorry that I missed Ruth in the day. I may never have fallen in love with Agnetha Faltskog.
Ah yes...Agnetha -
just in my dreams she sends her S.O.S.
Nice outfits.... ;-)
Not a tattoo between them!!!
hardly surprising
Or a shaven haven I'm guessing given the times.
Love these ladies moves, especially the brunettes.
_GO GIRLS!_
wow , would loved to have been stuck in a lift with these girls.
Song and girls : trascinanti !
only 2 left :(
Except for Cherry, this is the line up..
So it’s not that I can’t dance, it’s that my moves are nearly 50 years out of date. That’s less depressing I guess
There's nothing like fitted white pants on a beautiful woman for showing off their derriere. And there are SIX to choose from here. I'll have Flick, please.
can't help wondering if bands began making pop videos just to stop this sort of dance routine from pan's people
David Acevedo
girl's are great, moves a bit lame...
As I understand it… The personnel & staff at TOTP treated their dancing girls like complete shit. TOTP dancing girls where coerced ( forced ) into having sex and where sexually harassed.
Bullshit!
They are cute but this is the worst choreography I've ever seen; it's embarrassing.
I don't think they practised this routine very much. Must have been one of Flick's last minute jobs.
what's wrong with it .your comment is embarrassing.
🧈🫵s & 🍬🍎s all around, needless to say!
