Sam meeting heartman was probably the funniest, I was so awestruck and invested into the story and the thumbs up and yeah boyee were so hilarious as well. I love this game
Replaying this game after 2 years and holy fuck does this hit different after your fiancé dies I’m broken by the beauty of the writing, cinematography and acting, after I now know the meaning of grief and death itself
Yep, this game did something to me as well, like I found something that was inside of me all of the time but I didn’t notice it. That’s what art is. I’m really sorry for your loss. Hope you’re doing well, mate.
Came to post this. I had to come on UA-cam to check. When I was playing I kept thinking “damn this is long af I bet it’s actually 21 minutes.” Sure enough it is. Damnit kojima.
Like how everyones house is an underground bunker meanwhile his is a hollywood mansion over looking a heart shaped lake with its design being a combination of style and celebration of scientific items he found
I laughed when he messed with the record player. Ya boy. Although if i recall if the heart stops you are dead its more if the heart is not beating correctly when they defib you.
Heartman is probably the best character besides Deadman. Heartman and Deadman were full of charm, personality, and complex without being an exposition dump like Diehardman, Mama, and Fragile. My problem with Death Stranding is the Kojima writing style since MGS 4 that for me is getting old that is the characters is just an exposition dump without any charm. MGS 1,2,3 has charming and complex characters just like Heartman and Deadman.
Well I showed this to my mother (ER doctor) and she told me that the opening scene is a bit too close for comfort. Well done to the actors/animators. You managed to make defibrillation look realistic. And she riffs on most medical shows constantly.
@@anathemadevice1900 Honestly, this guy would be dead after one or two "resurrections". It's always a great physical trauma. But the tears, , the muscle shock... It's what you prevent to happen. You have pacemakers for that. It's sci-fi, but it's well done sci-fi.
@@anathemadevice1900 By the way they do with CPR. You get oxidized blood in, give it a bit of an electricity kick... Won't work most of the time, but there's a chance, if you react quick. When blood pressure drops to nothing you have maybe half a minute to 3 minutes. Try it next time.
Am I the only one that got this weird graphical bug with Heartman and his "facial hair"? Maybe the settings on my TV are a bit messed up,= (it IS a pretty old TV) but there would be these dark pixels on heartman's "beard" as if the tiny follicles on his face weren't rendering properly. It doesn't seem to happen on this video, but it REALLY threw me off when I played the game myself. I'm assuming it's only something I experienced.
I don't know how to explain it, but this cutscene sent me into an episode. Normally I'm pretty grossed out by medical stuff but right around the time Heartman describes his heart and his way of coming back I started losing my hearing and I was about to pass out. I tried to get water and stare at myself in the mirror but I fell on the floor and started losing control of my hands, feet and mouth. Then I started shaking and vibrating uncontrollably. I'm okay now but if anyone could tell me what's wrong with me that would be very appreciated.
You should definitely see your doctor. If you've got a good one, he/she'll be able to tell you whether you need to start seeing a psychologist, psychiatrist or another kind of therapist. It sounds like you have a literally crippling anxiety, triggered by this stuff. I'm not a doctor or therapist myself, I'm a friggin landscaper at a cemetery, but I went to my doctor for less about 8 years ago. Well, I thought it wasn't anything - or more accurately, I was in complete denial. Turned out the anxiety and many panic attacks, big and small, were a much worse thing than I thought. I had moderate to severe depression and was stressed out of my mind. I'm not saying you have any of this, but your reaction isn't exactly normal. Something is definitely triggered. I hope you can find out what it is and how to work with it! 😉
@@katastrofekatrine thank you for the response. You wouldn't believe how hard this kind of thing is to look up as it didn't feel like anxiety. Just sent me into a deep fear that made me feel like I was loosing all the blood to my head. Death disturbs me a lot and I guess I got a little faint hearted. Might look into it.
@@jaigger Try adding "fight or flight" to your search. It might be a trigger to your episodes. When I play a scary game, my hands get cold, my heart starts racing and I get extremely agitated. Turns out that it's my "flight" getting ready to run tf out of there. 😂 But as I said, I'm no expert. The internet it filled with people who are definitely not experts but act like they are. I would see a professional asap if I were you - unless you're in quarantine. Then find a professional who does video call consultations. There should be plenty of them during this pandemic.
The hole scean is 21 mins but the ingame clock deffently isnt right. i mean he has 2 21 min sessions so thats 42 and theres the little 3 min bit in the middle thats 45 and then theres the almost 1 min at the start so this hole bit should actuly be 46 mins but i guess this world is on x2 speed or something
love the fact that the resuscitation timer is shown even before we see heartman "corpse", really caught me off guard when meeting him for the first time
Heartman is my favourite. He’s just so perfectly written and performed, it’s no joke
Subtle but poignant.
Sam meeting heartman was probably the funniest, I was so awestruck and invested into the story and the thumbs up and yeah boyee were so hilarious as well. I love this game
I love it when Sam resets the hourglass. Such a thoughtful guy

Heartman might be one of my most favorite characters in all of gaming. Just the concept itself is brilliant.
21 minute long cutscene hahah I knew it when I watched it
Came to post this. I had to come on UA-cam to check. When I was playing I kept thinking “damn this is long af I bet it’s actually 21 minutes.” Sure enough it is. Damnit kojima.
Technically, it's 21:21 lol
I admire how Hideo Kojima can be so serious and so goofy at the same time! Such an entertainer!!
Like how everyones house is an underground bunker meanwhile his is a hollywood mansion over looking a heart shaped lake with its design being a combination of style and celebration of scientific items he found
My guess BTs never mess with him being part dead himself. So he doesnt need a bunker. Hell probably not effected by the timefall either.
The detailsss, the blood on his shirt is the shape of a heart
This cutscene is so good, but the part where you must stay 3 minutes still with 2 dead bodies is so creepy. Damn.
You get likes for exploring the room and finding various objects by zooming in.
Thanks, I completely fell asleep when I got to this scene after pulling many late nights playing this game, now I know what I have missed, LOL.
This is the exact reason I came to this video as well haha
yeah boyee
Yeah Boyee - Sam Porter Bridges 2019
Heartman looks like he could be one of my History Professors.
yeah boyee
There’s gotta be a MGS reference somewhere on his bookshelves
When I saw the books I started looking hoping there’s gonna be mgs reference
i better see the shrek collection in blueray there
Licensing be an issue. Unless they do a parody.
only Hideo Kojima could make a game with 21 minute cutscenes that i can't look away from
I loved this character so much, I'm actually sad I felt his storyline was left incomplete.
I’m pretty sure in chapter 15 you can read some interviews that explain what all the characters do after the events of the story :)
I laughed when he messed with the record player. Ya boy. Although if i recall if the heart stops you are dead its more if the heart is not beating correctly when they defib you.

Its not realistic when defibrillators dont actually restart hearts

The fact that this cutscene is 21 minutes long is....too much for my brain
Why on earth is your BB crying like that???
Geez, take better care of it...
Lou! (Echoes)
21:09 I really didn't expect this. Very interesting story 😂😂
What an amazing cutscene.
Hartman was a solid Kojima staple.
So physical intercourse isn't something he can fit into 21 minutes? What a flex.
How is his dead body able to give a thumbs up?! That’s gonna bug me a while.
he kept breaking the 4th wall dont worry about it
I don’t think it was supposed to mean anything. Just a bit of humor.
rigor mortis
it's a joke
21:05 The Fuck Are You Doing Sam
As a vinyl freak I remember laughing my ass off when I saw him doing this after over 20 minutes of them talking about death and shit.
