  • Last week I had two machines on the table, which first slowed down and after a while did not make any anything at all. Both had worn out the so-called "engine brushes" or "carbon brushes". These are the graphite rods over which voltage is supplied to the motor. If they have a length less than 5mm, the engine will not work properly. On one machine additionally I found broken capacitors. The two sewing machines (this and a Pfaff 92) showed again: Only in the rarest cases the engine is really broken and couldn’t be repaired.
The information for this operation and my enthusiasm for sewing machines, I owe to the www.naehmaschinentechnik-forum.de, www.occaphot-ch.com, www.naehmaschinen-verzeichnis.de and the three volumes of the unbeatable Renters series "The sewing machine expert ".
    Have fun with the video.
