Great review and I totally agree with you on all points. I have purchased these about 6 mo. ago and have put on a good 100miles of trail and I have yet to see any down sides to the boot. Another thing I would add to what you have said is that the base boot stability is better than what you would expect from a boot that weighs in at 15.5 oz. Most boots are very flimsy and unsupportive. These have amazed me with support. As well the width of the rubber sole heel section is wider than most boots and with this there are less chances for twisted ankles when hiking on angled ground. Love these boots and I will soon be purchasing another pair.

I have this shoe and Targee II version. I think both are great shoes and very comfortable. I would say the Targhee is more of a hiking boot design and the EVO is like a trail runner type of design. I returned from using the Evo in Europe and found very comfortable in my walking on the granite slate cobble stone sidewalks. I did have some issues on the wet slate cobble stone when trying to stand on a curved drainage area of stone. Very waterproof and comfortable in walking in the rain throughout Europe!

I think you need to test them properly over a period of time for resilience and long term use. Would be interested to see how they fare in mud water, Rocky terrain and if they last bearing in mind the high price tag. The proof will be long term use on multi terrain. At the movement they are nice and new looking but good initial review. 😄

Thank you. More about comparing widths would be appreciated -- especially about the toe box space.

I wish you could do a mini-test for waterproofing...running water on top of the boot, stream crossing, wet grass, mud. You do a good job in your descriptions.

Great review of a fine Keen product. I chose the Voyageur over this boot for summer use. It has a more robust appearance. This boot seems more like a high top hiking sneaker, too light duty for my money. Best regards.

I have a pair and they work phenomenal here in MN in the snow, wouldn’t recommend hiking long distance under 30 though.

Keen is in my top 5 for footwear brands but I don't like the big lettering going across them. That killed a nice looking boot. I don't like looking like a walking billboard.

Haha that was my only down side. I do love the boot though so will put up with the billboard on my feet.

Hi, really good videos... i really like how you test all the shoes.
    I have a question:
Do you think this model can be a good choice for hiking 4 days on Colombia jungle? " LOST CITY" , my other options are Columbia mid trailstorm boots. do you recomment another model for this adventure?.
    Thanks and happy new 2022.

Thanks. Are they normal or wide fit?

Keens are typically wide. These are wide also but do seem to be slightly less wide than other Keens I've had.

Will the shoes drain the water out if the shoes submerged in water? In Asia, there are lots of river crossings during hike

These particular boots don't have a water drainage system, but if you are sure that the water will get in, go with a non-waterproof boot. I know it sounds counter productive, but non-waterproof boots tent to dry faster because they are more breathable.

Does anyone have experience of the Nxis vs Targhee 3 re fitting ? The toe box specifically. Targhees are heavier less breathable but never fail me for fit and grip.
I find the ridge flex, terradora and current evos slightly lacking in toe box room width and depth but feasible for less heavy duty days. The Kaci have massive toe room but slightly too wide through the heel and mid foot. Also how does the sizing compare? I vary from 5.5 to 6 UK across the Keen range.

Which is better ? This one or the salomon x ultra ?

    • @UltimateSurvivalGear
      @UltimateSurvivalGear  11 місяців тому +1

If you prefer wider fit, you will like these more. I personally like a more narrow fit, so Salomon's work better for me!

@@UltimateSurvivalGear thanks for replying. How's the keen compared to soliman in other parameters like grip, waterproofing and comfort ?
