SO interesting!!! My favourite tip was getting recommendations over endorsements!

Thanks so much! A top tip is also to check in with your past clients and let them know you’ll be asking for a recommendation, that way it doesn’t just randomly appear for them and they’ll have some pre-warning! :)

You're very welcome! Is there anything specific you're struggling with, which you might want us to cover on the channel? :)

Ugh I keep meaning to get started on this. My issue is I'm career switching/surfing lol. I work as a graphic designer in film and wanted to leverage what I'd learned from SoM to do more motion design based work in film (used to be called playback but it's moving towards motion design now). The industry has slowed down a loooot in Toronto so now I'm like do I try and freelance and juggle things? Linkedin also feels so corporate and professional for me. I don't consider myself a "good on paper" type person and I don't think I'll fit in there. Really not sure if I should or not.

I just realized I completely forgot to thank you for this video! Always lots of useful info here so thanks! Also where did you get that pre-comp sweatshirt I kind of want one for real!

Thanks so much for your comment! Brendan here (in the video)! I thought it felt too corporate and professional first, but just being in the space and simply liking/commenting on posts has benefitted me so much already! My advice would be to jump in and have a look for yourself - and see where you want to fit in on there! I really hope this helps, and hope to see you on there soon!🎉
Also, the jumper is Jake Bartlett’s merch!

Won't A.I take over motion graphics and make artist unemployed and obsolete ?

Hey! So we've talked about this a lot in our ChatGPT and Microsoft Designer videos, and the general consensus seems to be that we can use AI to get started, come up with ideas and save us time - but clients will still need the experienced designer, with a human mind to take it over the line and solve their problems for them!
