@@rollantcrajan2290 story is still good but the only problem is that the side characters are much more developed than the main character, the Mangaka should develop the main character more.
@piyushnayan1601 the thing is we already know what to know with kafka and author can't neglect the side characters since they'll be forgotten. The author is back on developing the mc after all of that is out of the way though and Leno is cool.

Pretty much if you love Parasyte, AOT and everything Godzilla, this is going to be your AOTS. Maybe even AOTY
It was very enjoyable but it's almost TOO much like AoT. There's the main guy hell bent on killing the "titans", he has his Mikasa and Armin stand-ins, and he can transform into one of the monsters.

even the defense squad rejected him is not even framed as bad. he dont have enough power to fight, so they literally think they spare his life be not letting him join. like how the army rejected Steve Roger when he apply. we feel bad for him, but we understand why they wouldnt just let anybody join a fight to the death with god damn Kaiju that have the mortality rate as high as 80%

The panel of him becoming a monster then he and Leno being baffled with the old man in the mix is among my favourites in the manga, it was hilarious.
That part was so good I was laughing out loud. Completely agree.
I was die hard laughing when old man was calling the Japanese defense force saying a kaiju in the hospital whe main character and his co worker was imagine thought,😂
Mina still holding onto that promise that the MC will come save her if she's ever sad. Also, you gotta love it when the MC doesn't make it only for something to happen for him to make it.

I did read around 60 chapters of the Manga but I wasn't expecting to turn this good in anime medium!

Its gonna have some major competition once my hero and demon slayer airs but this will definitely be in competition for anime of the season. This is a series I've been high on since i gave the manga a chance and believe me when i tell you it gets even better and the there's so many characters especially of different ages and personalities that'll you'll instantly love and resonate with. I can't wait! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Everything apart from the potato character designs looks great,but I’ll get used to it. Absolutely loved the 2d kaiju scenes,and the one with Kafka new form hit so hard with the silence while he is just sitting there like a monster

This show is one of the biggest surprises for me this season. As I went into the show without expecting much. But when those super soldiers come shooting. It made it clear to me that this was awesome!
As it’s so refreshing to see humans actually beating and dealing with these monsters without too much worry or feeling too powerless.
Also those scenes where they did clean up the mess. Reminded me a bit about the scenes in the Pacific Rim movie. Where the black market did come in and clean up all of the kajus remains and organs. Which is indeed such a nice detail and shows that this show is not yet another mindless show. About big things hitting things.
But that thing in the end which did transform our dude by crawling inside his mouth. Was disgusting AF🤢
Clever Cleaning Life Of The Returned Genius Hunter - Its the cleaning crew spin off you are talking about. S rank hunter hates everyone whos not a hunter then reincarnates as a cleaning member and the system forces him to progress as a cleaner to get his powers back.
Was gonna wait until later to comment but damn this first episode hit so hard I gotta do it now. Adult main character, unique setting, interesting story, good clear motivation, and themes of broken dreams getting reignited and reforged. Yep this show is definitely going to be anime of the season and possibly a contender for anime of the year. This show picked the perfect time to come out to considering that Godzilla x Kong is in theaters and Godzilla Minus One is still fresh on everyone’s minds. Us kaiju fans are eating good right now!
Yes. I do agree with you Brandon. This was really good. It has the potential to be as big as AOT with the fact that both series deal woth titans/kaijus. Now, it will come down to the writing/characters/plot and action to see if it can match that type of level. Not that I'm expecting that... I haven't seen AOT myself yet and I'm not gonna expect that type of series from this one.
I liked the characters. Kafka and the childhood friend had a nice dynamic when they were younger and their town was destroyed. They seemed like really good friends that just so happened to miss each other on the pathway to the top.
Kafka failed his entrance exam... I'm wondering how and we'll probably find that out but as shitty as the cleaning job can be. He generally is okay with it. Ichikawa was a surprise. I was expecting him to be the mean character who'd take advantage of Kafka to bring himself up but he's actually really nice and thoughtful.
The cleaning stuff was really cool to see. I don't think I've seen many shows or anime that focused on the aftermath of a battle and what's the provess of rebuilding while this first episode actually showed it. It was really cool to see how they have to use different equipment, techniques and careful judgment on how they remove the parts of the monsters so they don't get hurt themselves.
I almost thought Ichikawa was about to get eaten twice by a surprise attack and luckily it didn't happen. I actually like the guy and I hope he sticks around.
The Kaiju fly that went into Kafka was like purposely searching for him which is interesting and I want to find out why him specifically... We'll probably get that answer.
Production IG knocked it out of the park honestly. This could've been a 3D CGI mess if any other studio grabbed this and looked at the massive Kaiju's. There were 3D elements but you couldn't even tell due to how well things blended in with the 2D background and camera work.
The action was sublime and even though there was a lot of pushback from the manga community about the character designs and I understand it sinfe the manga designs are really good. The simple designs will make the animation a lot better imo.
The OST was pretty damn good and I want to hear more of it. I love One Republic personally so them doing the ED is nice but I know that it might not be a cup of tea for everyone.
Overall this has potential to be AOTS. I wished this was like a double episode. It may have hooked me a bit more but right now I think it's really good and it's one of the best episodes of the season.

I already knew this show was going to be good when the trailer came out and I didn’t know anything about the show. This show really gave me entertainment.
Edit: I thought the clean up crew side was pretty interesting as well. It’s a very important job that goes overlooked, especially when one of those constructs could’ve been where someone lived. Maybe we’ll see some people that don’t take the crew for granted.
The Animation did not disappoint I'm proud of Production IG guess I was afraid got nothing, you'll enjoy this anime bro, it's one of my favorite Manga top 5

I'm looking forward to seeing how Mina will react to seeing Kafka in this state, I'm sure she won't recognize him and he'll desperately tell her it's him since he's still able to talk, unless they shoot him the moment they see him. I guess Ichikawa will have to cover for him and say that he's a person. I was surprised by how he became a Kaijuu though, since the Yaju's blood splattered on his open wound, I thought that would have been the cause of the transformation. I wonder why that Kaijuu was looking for Kafka though, maybe he had the aptitude for being a human kaijuu?

Production IG has been on a ROLE. Heavenly delusion was a masterpiece and exactly what you'd expect from them. Then ao ashi which was also really good and now they're doing my favorite manga to this day Kaiju 8???
This episode looked incredible. It was a movie, there were so many moving part's, I'd only prefer the manga from a preferential standpoint, they went above and beyond.
Like seriously, If they go all in, This is gonna be the revival of kaiju No. 8. (Even though its still better than ever, The haters are just grasping at straws. Every chapter matsumoto cooks something)

Read this manga first week of release on Shonen jump and loved it but fell behind. Gonna have to catch up.
Also when the ending song started and I recognized OneRepublic doing the outro song I lost it. Favorite band covering one of my favorite manga. So. Freaking. Awesome.

In 2022 Japan put out a (live action) movie called What To Do With a Dead Kaiju. You need to track that down as it has a more hilarious take on the problem of disposing something that large.
Ya, honestly I wasn't going to watch this - the trailer and the synopsis did not really appeal to me on the first glance. But well, your thumbnail/video title gave me the small nudge to watch it after all. I admit, it was quite an interesting episode and felt quite balanced. Though, the plot twist at the end of the episode was quite something I did not expect at all. I might watch a couple more episodes to see if I will keep watching it until the end. I am not really a total sucker for these kinds of shows. (Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai glued me more to the screen this evening, if I am being honest). At the very least, it's one more show that has potential to be in my Saturday's watch list. ( ´ ꒳ ` )b

Been telling people it'll be the next jjk/csm since last year already knew it would be big, it was a no Brainer if the animation was even only just above average.
The first episode of Kaiju 8 reminds me a bit of the movie "Pacific Rim". The action was spot on and i'm looking forward to the episode 2. By the way: The Kaiju Kafka turned into looked familiar but can't remember from which anime it came from.
Its a bit like aot but funnier.its a very good first episode. I am hooked!
lol I had a feeling this one was a gem… watched ten minutes recap scoured dudes channel for a part two plus spent ten minutes looking up other videos it’s pretty interesting I initially thought he was weak and questioned how he would join the force but after he randomly got powers from a parasite it all lined up…it’s kinda intriguing and I wanna see more

I haven’t really cared for a lot of the new anime coming out this season but I saw this one this morning and I’m still hyped from the new Godzilla x Kong film and I honestly really love this anime and I can’t wait to see how the rest of this show turns out
A lot of great little details in the first episode but my favourite one is the kaiju red light at the traffic signals.
I love anime but as an adult the silly cornyness can be so annoying . Demon slayer does the same thing. It can be just to much at times.

I know nothing about this series, but the main character HAS to be able to transform back into a human on-command. For several reasons -
1) If he was a Kaiju all of the time, no normal citizen would accept him, even if he was fighting with the good guys
2) His childhood friend would k**l him in episode 2 unless he could convince her it was him
she might have a kaiju fetish and it becomes a whole new kind of anime

What an amazing 1st episode , and I'm jusy about sold only on the idea of learning about this new original world and hiw it operates
Kaiju No 8 is one of my favorite anime of 2024, such as Metallic Rouge, Bang Brave Bang Bravern, Shinkalion: Change the World, Blue Archive the Animation and even Go Go Loser Rangers.
Sucks that the CR comments are all crying about the delayed upload. The perfect balance of bathroom humor, gritty badass violent action and awesome indie/hard rock OST. The sakuga of the breaking through the glass window animation is right up there with Takashi's glass shattering scene in Akira. Well, time to boot up the old Xbox 360 and play some Earth Defense Force! BTW the white tiger pet gives me Siegfried & Roy PTSD lol
the funniest thing is the ep aired when they said it would, the livestream was an early release for those that wanted a live expedience with others.

While we have Pacific Rim & the Monsterverse Godzilla & Kong films here in the States, Japan continues with their own Kaiju flicks both live action and anime: Shin Godzilla, Shin Ultraman, SSSS Gridman, SSSS Dynazenon, Gridman Universe, Gamera: Rebirth, Godzilla Minus One etc. Now we have Kaiju No. 8, definitely looking forward to where this series goes.
Now I want to rewatch The Guyver, especially the Mark Hamill movie lol

I was blown by this first episode. So dam great.
The manga for this is one of my friends‘ favorite story, and she was very worried about the adaptation from the promo material we got beforehand; guess I can tell her her worries were unfounded, cuz damn that was a pretty good first episode.
Especially some of the action cuts were insanely well done I actually went and looked it up who directed and storyboarded this (though not names I’m too familiar with, mostly);
And the music is fucking amazing so far

I thought the MC was going to be younger, I like that he's in his late 20s or early 30s. I'm liking his character, he seems like he'll be entertaining to watch and is pretty relatable too so it'll be interesting to see what kind of character development he'll get. Ichikawa was different than I was expecting, I thought he'd be this edgy, moody and annoying character but he's actually pretty sweet. I'm surprised he straight away suggested running away with Kafka so I'm looking forward to seeing him and Kafka getting closer to one another. I feel like there's good potential for a bromance.
This episode was so good I’m already so invested with the world and the characters. Just like you I didn’t really have much expectations so this was a great surprise. Was looking for something new kind of getting tired of the same old school or Isekai anime.

I'm not sure if this will be my new AOTS yet, but I think it had a great premiere episode. The episode was livestreamed on CR, but I missed the beginning of the stream on CR and couldn't find the episode on twitter/X, so I ended up watching the episode a couple hours later after the same day simuldub had come out in English on CR... So I ended up hearing some of the Japanese and English voice acting, and I think they all did a great job along with the art and animation teams of Production I.G. Regarding the plot, I think the name "Kafka" alone should have been a big hint at that this was likely going to be a bodily transformation story since one of the real-life Kafka's famous works is "The Metamorphosis", but you're right that the parasite-like infusion to cause said transformation was a good surprise. Anyways, I'm definitely hyped for the next episode.
livestream was early premiere it came out a few hours before the actual CR release. it's such a big show they are marketing it harder and wants a livestream ontop of their normal release
@@AHBrandonReviews Yeah, I saw the tail end of the livestream/early premiere on CR and then watched the whole thing in English on CR a couple hours later. I think the official site for the anime should have added a direct link to the post for the livestream of the anime on X.
