Yes you are correct! he actually said this himself in an interview, something along the lines of "I just try to play as I did when I was younger .. without any pressure.."
He plays football like its 5-aside, thats why I love this guys playstyle. If he stays fit and remains at chelsea for 7+ years, he will surpass Hazards legacy.
he is very talanted but is doing too much. I saw lots of lost posessions and wasted attacks. The good thing is he knows when to do it - in the last third of the field where the risk is extreamly small. But I think he will be more effective without all the nutmeg attemps. Never saw KDB or modric doing even half the number nutmegs palmer did this season in their entire carrers.
sadly he will not develop and you wont hear about him in another 3 years, tbh he should not be able to do what hes doing in the prem and i hope im wrong but i just cant see him slotting into a team where they dont play around him, he also doesnt live the lifestyle
You're wrong. His bravery and ability to pull this stuff off is what makes him so creative and so good. Different players create differently. But to be creative you have to take risks and be willing to give the ball away. De Bruyne doesn't attempt loads of nutmegs, but he does attempt loads of through balls and audacious passes. And like Palmer's skills, sometimes it results in a loss of possession. Kroos has the most ridiculous pass completion percentages. And De Bruyne's doesn't really compare. But that doesn't make Kroos a better passer than De Bruyne because De Bruyne takes risks, as he's a more creative player. I'll tell you for a fact. The most frustrating wingers are the ones who never take their defender on and just pass the ball backwards. You rarely want to discourage a player like Palmer from using his ingenuity to try and make things happen. Watched the guy all season and never been frustrated with him. These are the sort of things where highlights won't tell the full picture. You can make a highlight comp of any pro being good at a certain skill or a comp of them giving the ball away. That's why you have to watch full games and decide for yourself who the best player on the pitch has been. More often than not this season, it's been Palmer. Can also tell from doing a deepdive into the advanced metrics/underlying stats if you're a stats nerd. Both things tell you more than highlights or G+A will. But these moments where he tries a nutmeg or skill are literally the things that make football enjoyable. Hate people that try to stamp it out the game just because they want ideal ball retention. Same shit as only shooting from high xG areas. More efficient maybe but it sucks the magic out of football.
He is not a clean player but a tricky talented player. If he is on the team, any team will score as well as concede bcz he gives away possession so easily.
Barcelona and Man city surely have the best football schools in the world Foden, Grimaldo, Olmo, Simmons, Frimpong(I think), Cold Palmer And Palmer can go far but hes limited by the club’s management
I mean the success rate is no joke
Yeah, most players avoid nutmeg because mostly the success rate is low.
@@andikardian9014he’s saying that his nutmegs always work
I mean he didn't actually show "all" of his nutmeg attempts though
He's playing as if he's still in academy
Chelsea basically an academy atp 😭
Man city academy is better than Chelsea 😭

That nutmeg, backheel and finessed finish vs everton is probably the best goal I've seen in a very long long time. Am a utd fan
U dont know good football if u support manu
Garnacho bycicle bro you forgot am also man utd fan
You just explained the reason why it's the best goal you've seen in a while..
Jokes aside twas a fabulous goal
@@nacergamingI think he’s referring to more of a technical point of view, which is bigger for the commenter
What a fantastic compilation man top top work
Biggest talent since Hazard. Build around him and Chelsea will be back in no time.
England is looking scary🥶
Southgate would take the entire responsibility to still make them win nothing 💀
Still only have half a defense and keepers are very mid unfortunately
only to lost to top 10 country😂
2026 post Southgate era
Isn’t that what we heard at the World Cup
He did that Middlesbrough player dirty hahahahah
bro knows chelsea WILL play him
What does ur comment even mean 💀
He's good😊
29 year old palmer is gonna be wild
True. True.
It’s good if you don’t keep losing the ball when a good pass is on

Maybe because he’s playing at Chelsea
@@bobbythepenguin880 ye he is having fun, cause playing for chelsea its not only hard but also exhausting

He is still young and will develop, I think If he keeps doing this he might master it
Rodri always struggle against him
I can't believe this is all THIS season... I think he was very lucky, its too much of a challenge
And Pocchetino still believes the team can do shit without him 💀
Now thanks to him that Chelsea is 7th on the table (and more importantly, they're on top of Man Utd 😂😂😂)
i don't think the first one is a nutmeg attempt to be fair, he just flicks it quickly in a side step
Damn he’s cooking but got absolutely blocked against Liverpool
get trin rodman over here to improve his success rate a little 😬
